1234-5678 0 Report post Posted September 16, 2004 The following comes from Rockin' Rebel, who lets CZW use his Pennsylvania Promoters License It seems the rumors have already started to circumvent, therefore I am forced to make a statement regarding CZW and our promoter's license. CZW will no longer be using our license to promote any of their wrestling shows. This is mostly due to the events of this past weekend, the PA State Athletic Commission has received multiple complaints and have called us as the promoter to discuss them, which I may add is NOT a phone call anyone would want to receive! They also informed us that because of the nature of the complaints they must additionally file a report with the Philadelphia's District Attorney's office as the process states. Our decision is not because John and I have supposedly butted heads or have differences as some people have already heard. Plain and simple this is a result of CZW's own actions, at times they can be a liability and neither I or my wife wish to take that risk any longer or be a part of it. This was not an easy decision to make, we have tried for a very long time to make things work, we have had talks with John about certain concerns and have given CZW every opportunity to work with us. To close, we wish CZW all the best in their future and if everyone in the wrestling world can be an adult about this I'm sure it will be an easier transition for us all. Thank you. Rockin' Rebel aka Chuck Williams This statement was released after a parent complaining about a girl taking her top off during a Blackout segment, during the matinee CZW show, from this past Saturday. Seeing the event personally, it was nothing that a major promotion hasn't done in the past. WWE did the same stunt back on their "Fully Loaded" 1999 PPV. During CZW's show this past Saturday, a young woman took her top off, which had her breasts covered in paint, ala Sable. This is what led to the parent in the crowd complaining to the commission. CZW does have a back-up promoter lined up for their 10-9 show. This is just another hardship and incident CZW has had to face in their storied history. Hopefully, CZW will be able to fight this without losing the promotions identity. There is no word if this will affect Rebel's Army angles in CZW. From what is known, Rebel will let 3PW and ROH use his promoters license during their Philadelphia shows. Look for more news on this story as it becomes available. Guest Evolution Report post Posted September 16, 2004 Poor CZW can't catch a break. That complaint is pretty ridiculous, since CZW is extremely violent and the only thing that got complained about was a girl's breasts covered in paint. At least, I hope that wasn't the only thing that was complained about.
razazteca 0 Report post Posted September 16, 2004 CZW gets away with using Weed Wackers in matches yet gets their license removed because of some tittay flashing?
DCMaximo 0 Report post Posted September 16, 2004 I'm pretty sure they can't do the weed-whacker/lightbulb stuff in Philly anymore. The last two Tournaments of Death and the Extreme 8 were both held in Delaware, where the deathmatches are still allowed. I'm sure someone else will be able to confirm/deny this, but I'm almost certain that's the case.
LucharesuFan619 0 Report post Posted September 17, 2004 As I said, not too surprising. Zandig and Rebel's heat probably had a lot to do it, although I don't know for sure. XPW did the same thing with a chick at Exit Sandman, and it was only Sandman that got penalized because he brought her into the ring, but I guess this is different since she was an official valet. Epic Reine 0 Report post Posted September 17, 2004 Remember, America's culture sucks. To parents and "figure heads", nudity is worse than violence. Thats why only during a game where you tackle, and beat the shit out of your opponent, does the halftime segment of a 50 year old lady's breast accidentally being flashed, gets people upset. vermilion 0 Report post Posted September 17, 2004 My question isn't whether or not what CZW did was right or not.....my question is why was there a kid at a CZW show? That's some good parenting there.
Guest Sturgis Report post Posted September 17, 2004 There was a 5 year old sitting next to me at UVTOD3, and his favorite wrestler just so happened to be The Wifebeater.
PsychoDriver 0 Report post Posted September 17, 2004 Notice how no one ever mentions those 3PW wet t-shirt contests ETC? But CZW does something once (that the WWF even did) and they get crap for it. Not fair says I. ulfistgut 0 Report post Posted September 17, 2004 While it's annoying and all (and pretty darn suspect that this happened now after Rebel stopped wrasslin with CZW) it's not the worse news ever as apparently they have a second liscence already lined up (and Mike Quakenbush also has a license I belive - so I imagine they could use it) And fact of the matter, nudity isn't exactly an integral part of the show so it'll be pretty easy to do without. Perhaps CZW can spin this towards more heat for Blackout too.
nl5xsk1 0 Report post Posted September 17, 2004 To be completely honest ... I was too focused on Rebel saying that rumors are starting to "circumvent" to really think about the hilarity of complaining about titties during a CZW show. (Circulate, RR, circulate) And, to steal from fark: this article is useless without pics.
LucharesuFan619 0 Report post Posted September 18, 2004 Rebel talks about it at http://www.prowrestlingunplugged.com/radio/rebel.m3u. For anyone who has criticized me as someone who doesn't know what they're talking about Rebel's relationship with Zandig, this confirms everything I've said all along. Zandig has been pulling tons of shit like this for the last year and a half and Rebel has always been the guy that's had to step up in order for them to keep their license. To the guy that questioned 3PW's wet t-shirt contests, Rebel addresses that and tells why Zandig's been so unprofessional with his relationship with the athletic commission. LucharesuFan619 0 Report post Posted September 22, 2004 CREDIT: Eric Walker As reported here earlier, Chuck Williams p.k.a. Rockin Rebel, pulled the use of his Pennsylvania State promoters license from CZW. Rebel will still be the promoter of record for ROH and 3PW in Pennsylvania and several other indy promotions. It was also reported that CZW Owner Zandig informed Rebel that he has already obtained the use of another license. Rebel has stated that as of yet, no paperwork has been filed with the State Commission. Rebel has also stated that Greg Sirb wants Zandig to obtain his own license. But now, the story has taken an ugly twist. Rockin Rebel, his wife and PA Commission agent Frank Talent have claimed to have recieved threatening calls on their phones. Rebel's calls came on his cell phone that he states no one but people he does business with has. His wife's calls also came on a cell phone that he stated only a few people have. Frank Talent called the people out on his weekly radio show to call him on the air. No one did, obviously. For the record, I am going by Rebel's statements and have not heard any messages that would back these claims up. Even so, crank calling someone and making threats is not only childish and stupid, it's a felony with the new Anti-Terrorism laws in place today. I also wish to state that not one of these calls has been traced back to anyone assoicated with CZW and these calls probably are coming from someone with no true association with CZW at all. For the record also, the CZW show scheduled for October 9th is still on as scheduled. Expect a big article about CZW's talent relations policies this coming weekend, featuring the long-awaited comments from my exclusive shoot interview with Rebel. Also including comments from Jimmy Jacobs.
LucharesuFan619 0 Report post Posted September 23, 2004 http://www.prowrestlingunplugged.com/radio/rebelnew.m3u Rebel talks about the incident with CZW even further. A lot of people have criticized me for what I've said about CZW. Well, once again, he confirms 100% exactly what I've claimed all along - the real reason Greg Matthews, Danny Rose, and the Backseat Boyz left CZW all had to do with their heat with Zandig, not creative differences or anything like that, as PWInsider and all the other news sites claimed. You can expect a huge article on the situation this coming weekend telling the real story of the license issue and including lots of rare info. Featuring comments from Rebel and Jimmy Jacobs. LucharesuFan619 0 Report post Posted September 25, 2004 For those interested, the article will be delayed till next weekend, but have no doubt - it will definitely be released. There's a rumor circulating that Zandig tried to obtain his own license and got rejected - anyone know whats up with that? The CZWFans board mentioned it as an offhand type comment, so I'm not sure if the guy who said it was being serious or whether he's credible.
