cawthon777 0 Report post Posted October 4, 2004 When I was a kid I would press stop immediately after Vader's funeral because I hated that damn Ewok music so much. What's with all the Yub Nub hate?
ChrisMWaters 0 Report post Posted October 4, 2004 Lucas has confirmed that they get memory wipes in at least two interviews. Quick question then. Why doesn't either Owen or Beru remember C-3PO? R2, I can understand, he wasn't around them all that much, but C3P0 lived them for what a couple of years? The only thing I can think of is that they act like they don't know him to sheild Luke from his father's past, but that seems rather flimsy to me. Maybe because C-3PO's color scheme was different in Episode II? Or he did know, and just pretended that he didn't, due to the fact that he possibly knew 3PO had his memory erased. Black Lushus 0 Report post Posted October 4, 2004 my guess is that there are so many droids that look like C-3PO, he probably just forgot it was the same one his father once owned? EDIT: what I want to know is, how could Darth Vader not remember C-3PO or R2-D2 at all? They've been with him through a few jams, he couldn't have possibly forgotten them... ChrisMWaters 0 Report post Posted October 4, 2004 Here's a thought I just had though. We've seen pretty much every Jedi or Sith in Star Wars fight with a lightsaber in these movies...Yoda, Anakin, Qui Gon, Obi Wan, Darth Maul, Darth Tyranus/Count Dooku, Mace Windu, Luke... Is there a chance in hell of seeing Darth Sideous/Emperor Palpateen fight with a lightsaber in Revenge of the Sith? ...maybe that's how the Mace Windu character dies...he looses a battle with Sideous. Black Lushus 0 Report post Posted October 4, 2004 I think the whole deal with Palpatine is that his Jedi Powers are so polished that he doesn't need a lightsaber at all to win his battles...obviously if he's powerful enough to fool EVERY SINGLE JEDI, he could easily dispatch someone as great as Mace Windu... kkktookmybabyaway 0 Report post Posted October 4, 2004 I think Boba Fett will off Windu. When did Darth Vader come into contact with R2D2 and C3PO? The only time that comes off the top of my head is when Han gets frozen and when he's tailing Luke when he blows up the Death Star...

When Uncle Owen saw the droid lineup he immediately recognized 3PO as a protocol droid but not as 3PO, maybe 'cause of his color, since there are so many similar ones around. Right after that he gave both R2 and 3PO to Luke to get them fixed and cleaned and that's when the droids introduced themselves to Luke, they never did to Uncle Owen or Aunt Beru, for that matter. Luke went to the dinner table and left right after to find that R2 escaped and grabbed 3PO to find him immediately the next morning when his Uncle was asking if he took both droids. After that, the Empire came looking for the droids and killed both Owen and Beru. In conclusion: Neither Beru nor Owen knew who those droids were.

Actually, I'm pretty sure the dual-sided lightsaber made its first appearance years ago in one of Dark Horse's Star Wars comics, but I can't remember which one. Downhome 0 Report post Posted October 4, 2004 Movie Discs Each movie disc has a set of 3 different animated menu schemes, patterned around the major worlds visited in each film. The different menu sets are randomly accessed when you boot up the disc. However, it is possible to directly access each scheme individually with the use of special codes. During the Attention warning screen on each movie disc, try entering the following codes with your remote: Code 1 - "Audio" Code 2 - "2" Code 3 - "10+", "2" (or "12" depending on your player), then "2" again Each of these should allow you to access a different specific menu scheme on the movie discs. Bonus Disc To access a Star Wars Trilogy gag reel, go to the Video Game & Still Galleries menu page. Using your remote, press "10+", "1" (or "11" depending on your player) and wait for the pause as the player accepts the input (note that a small box next to R2-D2 will illuminate if you're on the right track). Then press "3" and wait for the pause. Finally, press "8". Look also for additional outtake clips during the credits of The Characters of Star Wars featurette, and funny lightsaber spoof clips during the credits of The Birth of the Lightsaber featurette. You don't have to do anything to access them other than watch the featurettes.

I know it showed up in Kevin J Anderson's Jedi Academy novel trilogy - the guy who built it was instructed to by a Sith Master. Another one to maybe look out for is a multi-phase lightsaber like the one Corran Horn built in I, Jedi. Wouldn't be surprised to see Lucas crib that idea. Downhome 0 Report post Posted October 5, 2004 Ok, I've now started watching each of the films, starting with A New Hope. It's amazing watching these films now, as it is indeed like watching them for the very first time. There are so many things that you see and here now, that now mean so much more to you since we've seen I and II. I was just sitting here going "ohhhhhhhhhhhh" over and over again, it's just a totally different experience. I'm loving this so much.
pochorenella 0 Report post Posted October 5, 2004 I had the same feeling, too. I could be picky and bitch and moan about those squares surrounding the Tie Fighters in ANH or those black spots on the Emperor's cloak on ROTJ, but I'm not. It's just so amazing to watch all these movies with such picture quality and awesome sound. Next up, I'm watching them all agin just with commentary, and maybe after that I'll watch them all with spanish audio, too.
Black Lushus 0 Report post Posted October 6, 2004 Question, kind of touching off of the Maul vs. Vader posts from earlier in this thread...what about Dooku vs. Vader? Dooku is apparently skilled enough as a Jedi that he can shoot lightening out of his fingers, a power only previously seen done by Palpatine...we've never seen Vader do this...so does that make Dooku superior? Any of you avid EU guys, has Vader done the lightening trick in any novels or comic books?
kkktookmybabyaway 0 Report post Posted October 6, 2004 With all that metal on him? I wouldn't want to be associated with lightning either...
Black Lushus 0 Report post Posted October 6, 2004 yeah but my thinking is that he can counter that through his control of the force...

Black Lushus 0 Report post Posted October 6, 2004 True true, but on that note I'd have to go with the fact that the Emperor is probably 10 times more powerful than Vader...of coruse if THAT were the case, how could he not forsee Vader's face turn coming? Damn that Lucas, everytime he answers the questions, we just end up with more questions!
Big McLargeHuge 0 Report post Posted October 6, 2004 Another question on top of Lushus': Who is the most powerful of the Jedi/Sith?
Black Lushus 0 Report post Posted October 6, 2004 based off of what we know so far, Darth Maul beat Qui-Gon, then got beat by Qui-Gon's weaker apprentice Obi-Wan, who beat Anakin only to lose to Vader who in turn lost to Luke, who lost to Palpatine who then lost to Vader...so the winner is....fuck I went crosseyed....
Big McLargeHuge 0 Report post Posted October 6, 2004 I assumed it was either Yoda or Palpatine, but Episode 1 made it seem like Anakin had the potential to top both, with the prophecy crap. And did the whole "bringing balance to the force" thing just result in all the Jedi dying, except for Obi-Wan and Yoda? So that there were two Jedi and two Sith?
