Tonight on HBO, Roy Jones Jr fight for the first time since he was upset by Antonio Tarver. Roy Jones squares off against Glencoffe Johnson. I'm predicting another one of Jones patented boring ass unanimous decisions. Also at an Indian casino in Oklahoma of all places, Riddick Bowe squares off against journeyman of journeyman Marcus Rhodes in a ten round bout. I don't know what to think about this but Bowe's lost 70 pounds in prison. And to top it all off, guess who's fighting on the Bowe-Rhodes. Undercard......Oliver McCall. I think Bowe and McCall should have fought each other.

Discuss the fights in here.

Oliver McCall is fighting again? You're shitting me. That guy had a fucking nervous breakdown in the ring during the Lewis fight. I'm amazed he got licensed.

Why? Marcus Rhode is the perfect fight for Bowe. Don't forget this is Riddick Bowe's 1st fight in almost a decade. You except him to go in and beat McCall? McCall would easily beat Bowe, because of Bowe's long layoff.

I hope Riddick Bowe comes back, the heavyweight divison needs someone as talented as he was.

But if Riddick Bowe is anything near what he was in the early 90's, he will be head and shoulders above any fighter in the divison.

I have my doubts. He wasn't looking too good even before his layoff.

Againest Golota?

No doubt, Golota was winning those fights, but Riddick Bowe showed one of the most important things you need to become a great boxer. Heart. No matter how bad Golota was beating, Bowe was still standing and fighting.

Actually AoO, Oliver McCall has fought 13 fights since the nervous breakdown in the ring against Lewis. And he's won them all, they were all against journeymen but he won them nonetheless (Well he beat Henry Akinwande). I don't think any promoter with any sense would put McCall in a big name fight, maybe Don King would put him in a fight with Andrew Golata and promote it as "The guy who has nervous breakdowns in the ring Vs The guy who like to hit his opponents in the testicles"

So much for that comeback...

Knocked out with Antonio Tarver sitting in the crowd.

Are there any more boxing heroes left in the business that have not gone down the downward spiral of career suicide? When I say "boxing heroes" I mean mark favorites. So far Tyson lost, Jones Jr. lost, and De La Hoya lost, so who will be the next to get knocked out in the ring?

Is Klishko next to lose in a warm up fight?

Jones wont be back after this one. He's shown for the last 2.5 years (maybe more) that he's been pretty much disinterested in boxing. The only reason he stayed on top of the p4p rank until this year is that he was so far ahead of the curve. Now they've caught him and he's exposed as a man that can't fight against someone his equal. No heart. Time to take it home.

Don't forget Lennox Lewis retiring. All the fighters I grew up watching are either retired (like Lewis, Holyfield, etc.) or a shell of their former self (Tyson).

Trinidad could be considered a 'mark favorite'.

If Tito can get by the very dangerous Mayorga, a rematch with Hopkins would be the biggest fight in boxing.

I just saw the knock-out of Jones.

He needs to retire, NOW.

That was beyond violent, that was...that was the kind of knock-out that tells you, "get out now or you won't be leaving the ring breathing next time".
