1234-5678 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2004 Will Arnold have time to be the terminator and the governor? Warner Bros. is looking to start production on Terminator 4 early next year. At the time, Arnold Schwarzenegger will will still be working as the Governor of California. He may return, though in a very limited capacity. Early reports indicate that a new terminator model will be introduced. John Brancato and Michael Ferris have completed a draft of a script that was developed under the supervision of T3 director Jonathan Mostow. Mostow is expected to return to the director's chair, while it is unknown whether Nick Stahl and Clare Daines will return to their respective roles. Credit: Variety I hope Stahl returns, I thought he made a good John Connor.

LaParkaYourCar 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2004 I guess based on the end of Terminator 3 this will be soley based in the war torn and ruined future instead of the past like the other ones since they couldn't prevent the Judgment Day?
Kahran Ramsus 0 Report post Posted September 27, 2004 They should have quit after the second one.
NoCalMike 0 Report post Posted September 27, 2004 Living in CA, I can honestly say I'd much rather have him make another Terminator flick then sit though another year of him as govenor.
Corey_Lazarus 0 Report post Posted September 27, 2004 ...if it's as bad and as pointless as all but the last 20 minutes of T3? Grrrr... Cameron REALLY should have acquired the rights to the franchise as a whole, and made it so that whatever proposed scripts for future installments had to be run by him for approval. Because T3 crapped all over the awesomeness of T2, and was just another action movie, only this time it had the Terminator name attached to it.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Report post Posted September 27, 2004 Whatever, haters. 3 was the best one not named Terminator 1. Besides, more Terminator. Can't go wrong.
Dr. Tom 0 Report post Posted September 27, 2004 Whatever, haters. 3 was the best one not named Terminator 1. Lies. I liked T3 (gave it a 7.5/10 in the review, IIRC), but T2 is a modern classic. Especially the director's cut... that is some QUALITY shit right there. It's easily one of the best movies I've ever seen.
Black Lushus 0 Report post Posted September 27, 2004 I had no problems with 3, had a nice little swerve ending, Nick Stahl was gold as usual, wasn't as much Arnie's movie as it was Nick's...sure it's no T2, but it wasn't horrible by any means...and I can handle a T4, I'm interested in seeing the opening stages of the man vs. machine war... Eclipse 0 Report post Posted September 27, 2004 If T4 goes on, Stahl needs to return as Connor. Well, I say Arnold shouldn't be in this one, because hell, the only reason he was in T3 was... because of Connor's emotional attachment to his model.
Corey_Lazarus 0 Report post Posted September 29, 2004 Whatever, haters. 3 was the best one not named Terminator 1. Yes, because having no real plot, crapping all over the first two in story, and a plethora of generic action sequences that would fit another Fast & The Furious sequel moreso than a Terminator movie, makes it quality. Riiiiiiight. T2 is, honestly, the best action film I've ever seen. The action scenes themselves are quality, the father/son dynamic of Ahnie and Connor was played to perfection, and the whole story in general touched upon so many emotions that it should have won an Academy Award for something other than "Best Special Effects." Also, I liked T-1000 waaaaay more than I did the TX. The TX was so bland, had no real personality, and just seemed to be Warner Bros' way of saying "hey, a robot that's a superior model to Ahnie, haha!" At least Ahnie had TROUBLE dealing with the T-1000. T-1000 was only defeated due to a blind chance, whereas TX was fucking clown shoes. Also..."talk to the hand"? "TALK TO THE HAND"?! Fuck you. theintensifier 0 Report post Posted September 29, 2004 Arnold has to be in the fourth one, because it would be Terminator without him. It'd be like Die Hard without Willis or Lethal Weapon without Gibson / Glover, hope you are getting the point. If he is going to be in the movie, it should be in a limited capacity, not be the star of the movie. Fuck that, wasn't Jesse Ventura the governor of Minnesota when he was the ref at SummerSlam 99? Arnold should be able to be in the movie all the way through, it wouldn't be right if he wasn't. And if John Conner was found of the Arnold model terminator, he should be like his body guard in the fourth installment and get destroyed / or be the one who kills John at the end. OK, enough of that. If Arnold isn't going to be in it, who should replace him? The Rock, Triple H (lol), Brock Lesnar (could be cool, probably not though), can't really think of anyone else who is big enough for the role.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Report post Posted September 29, 2004 I don't like T2 that much at all because I want John to get killed. That movie totally fails in making him a sympathetic character who must live in order for man to survive. The third one does a much better job of this, since he's been living solely to survive more or less for years in that one. That completes the character more than the voice-cracking Ed Furlong being a teenage miscreant. He also falls ass-backwards into leadership in the third one, which is the only way a character like that could get into that position and be ready for it. The third movie totally rounds out his character, and does so in only one movie, where he's just a concept in the first one, and awful in the second. Considering that John Connor is the focal point of the entire story, that makes the third movie better than the second. The special effects are better than the second one, and Sexy Terminator is an improvement over the skinny goofy liquid cop. The ending of the third one was cooler too. Corey_Lazarus 0 Report post Posted September 29, 2004 True, the ending was cooler, but it, all around, just isn't as good as the second one, and I blame this on the writer/director trying to focus too much on action scenes and not enough on the story. Like I said..."TALK TO THE HAND," WHAT THE FUCK?! The second one just had a better story, and I honestly feel they should've stopped there, considering an upper ending for a movie of this sort is usually "the heroes survive," as in the first one, but this one was "the heroes prevented the war." There's an excellent line at the end of the movie that I love so much, and just makes me feel that there was more to T2 than the story itself, but also a metaphor or a commentary on life itself. The line is "if a machine can learn to value human life, maybe someday we can too." Now THAT is a great line. And let's not get into the soundtrack. T3's soundtrack had a bastardized version of the theme song, and a decent song by Blue Man Group and Gavin Rossdale. T2 had a great theme song, and a killer soundtrack including GNR when they were at their peak. Plus...BUDNICK~!! EDIT: Also, TX is only an improvement over T-1000 in the looks department. The character of the TX isn't explored at all, unlike T-1000, as T-1000 was more of a mind games killer than the upfront assault of TX. TX was just a common ground between Ahnie and T-1000, and that common ground didn't work too well in my eyes, especially considering I can't buy a machine that's supposed to have made Ahnie obsolete being defeated by Ahnie. I forget who made the connection, but it's the same as if Hulk Hogan were to defeat Bryan Danielson today.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Report post Posted September 30, 2004 The T1000 made Arnold obsolete, and he still killed that one. He didn't even have to sacrifice himself that time. Also, he didn't learn to value human life, he was programmed to protect John's. The "Talk to the Hand" and "she'll be back" corny one liners are to be expected in a Terminator movie. In the third one, they were corny one-liners, and not intended to really be part of the dialogue. The thing is, with this series, we KNOW the ending of the story. Connor leads the humans to triumph. We knew that in the first movie, so what's the point of making the movie have a happy ending unless it's "just to have a happy ending" TX is cooler anyway. She's totally mechanical, and more efficient. From the moment she gets into the past, she's eliminating her targets one after another. She's also more dangerous. I'd rather fight a blob of stabby metal than an advanced killing machine with lazer guns that can control cars and things. and she's hot.
