The Czech Republic Posted September 27, 2004 Report Posted September 27, 2004 Charlie Garner, Ben Taylor, and Jon Ritchie are also out for the year, but worst of all is the promising young quarterback Rex Grossman tearing an ACL and ending his season and possibly 2005 as well. This leaves the Bears with Jonathan Quinn as the starting QB. So yeah. What should the Bears do? Pick somebody up to take over? I mean, this was supposed to be a pretty good team this year, and now we lost Mike Brown, David Terrell, and now Grossman. Chicago is Injury City this year, I guess.
therealworldschampion Posted September 27, 2004 Report Posted September 27, 2004 Is Urlacher going to be playing next week? I had heard that he wouldn't next week. With Grossman, Terrell, Brown, Charles Tillman, and possibly Urlacher out of next week's game, the Eagles may be favored by two touchdowns for next week. Shame what happened to Ritchie. I imagine Josh Parry or Cecil Martin might be coming back to play FB.
MrRant Posted September 27, 2004 Report Posted September 27, 2004 If I were the Bears I could give Neil O'Donnell a call. Jeff George is available as well.
sfaJack Posted September 27, 2004 Report Posted September 27, 2004 They should have signed Quincy Carter. ... Well, maybe not.
Dr. Tyler; Captain America Posted September 27, 2004 Report Posted September 27, 2004 O'Donnell isn't coming back. He turned down the Stillers and several other teams this year.
2GOLD Posted September 27, 2004 Report Posted September 27, 2004 Call the Chargers and ask them for 15 ccs of Doug Flutie! STAT! Or, Billy Joe Hobert.
Guest Astro Posted September 27, 2004 Report Posted September 27, 2004 Don Majkowski, the NFL's next great comeback story
therealworldschampion Posted September 27, 2004 Report Posted September 27, 2004 Call up Rodney Peete, he still has some teams to hit on his NFL Play For Every Team Tour.
MillenniumMan831 Posted September 27, 2004 Report Posted September 27, 2004 What's Ty Detmer doing these days?
Guest webmasterofwrestlegame Posted September 27, 2004 Report Posted September 27, 2004 Shame what happened to Ritchie. I imagine Josh Parry or Cecil Martin might be coming back to play FB. This guy has been appearing as an Analyst on Sky's coverage of the NFL. He was crap at first but then he got good but then disappeared.
Guest Evolution Posted September 27, 2004 Report Posted September 27, 2004 AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. As a Bears fan, I am greatly amused by this. Another banner year for Da Bears.
therealworldschampion Posted September 27, 2004 Report Posted September 27, 2004 Eagles resigned Josh parry today, and rookie Thomas Tapeh will probably be the starting fullback for the remainder of the season. The Bears should go pull Steve DeBerg out of whatever rock he's under, so what if he's probably 55 now??
Guest Flyboy Posted September 27, 2004 Report Posted September 27, 2004 KJ is out 2-4 weeks with a high ankle sprain.
Guest Salacious Crumb Posted September 27, 2004 Report Posted September 27, 2004 They could always try begging Elvis Grbac to come out of retirement.
Guest Vitamin X Posted September 27, 2004 Report Posted September 27, 2004 Don Majkowski, the NFL's next great comeback story Whoa, someone remembers THE MAJIK MAN~.. Imagine him playing a game against Favre and winning (but leaving the game towards the end due to injury for a twist of irony). Oh, and as for the Bears.. Ha-ha!
therealworldschampion Posted September 27, 2004 Report Posted September 27, 2004 The Bears just signed Chad Hutchinson, if he starts he will get a shot at Dallas on Thanksgiving Day.
Slayer Posted September 27, 2004 Report Posted September 27, 2004 Better get this man back on the phone, stat.
lomasmoney Posted September 27, 2004 Report Posted September 27, 2004 Jeff George is sitting at home and he's still better than all but about 12 of the quarterbacks in the NFL right now. Chicago would be smart to sign him just for an extra body at qb
Guest Vitamin X Posted September 27, 2004 Report Posted September 27, 2004 Don't forget that anyone signed now still has to learn a whole new offensive system, and all these ex-but-not-totally-past-their-prime QB's still have to get in shape also. Hey, I hear Tim Couch needs a job...
Guest The Winter Of My Discontent Posted September 27, 2004 Report Posted September 27, 2004 Hey, I hear Tim Couch needs a job... Bingo.
the pinjockey Posted September 27, 2004 Report Posted September 27, 2004 *offers Jeff Blake to every team for a first round pick* Hey, worth a shot, got a second rounder for Feeley. Nice to see, with Lamar Gordon out for the year, the Phins have wasted their second and third picks in the coming draft. TRWC, I would be shocked to see Tapeh start at FB for the rest of the year. The way they have been prepping him for HB and the fact Parry has had two years in the systen as a FB, I see Reid leaning towards the guy familiar with the system.
therealworldschampion Posted September 28, 2004 Report Posted September 28, 2004 Yeah that's true about Tapeh, and I also heard Reid had nothing but great things to say about Parry after he cut him(had to because they had to keep extra bodies at other positions.) Don't be suprised if Levens sees snaps at FB this year too.
Gert T Posted September 28, 2004 Report Posted September 28, 2004 Bengals starting LB Nate Webster is also out for the year now with a patella injury. If you think the Bengals could not tackle before, just wait.
Spaceman Spiff Posted September 28, 2004 Report Posted September 28, 2004 Nice to see, with Lamar Gordon out for the year, the Phins have wasted their second and third picks in the coming draft. OK, that's enough out of you.

Guest Sylvan Grenier Posted September 28, 2004 Report Posted September 28, 2004 I don't his diapers could handle all that moisture down there! OOOOOH! BUURRN! Burnavich Shostmawski!

That would be an interesting deal as K.C. could get some decent defensive help considering how desperate Miami is for a passable running back right now.

I don't see them giving up a guy like Zach Thomas for Larry "Diapers" Johnson.
