Before I download, I'd like to know whether or not this sounds like every other Velvet Revolver song. And who originally did "Surrender," because I'm not downloading a song by a band I don't like that much covering a song I'm not sure if I like or not.

I like Big Drill Car's cover a little better, but this one's okay. Of course, the song's such an easy pop song to cover that you'd have to either be god-awful or change it to an R-and-B song to make it suck outright.

The original by Cheap Trick is, natually, the best version.

Um, Cheap Trick...you know the song..."mommy's all right, daddy's all right...they just seem a little weird. Surrender. Surrender...but don't you blow yourself away!"

I thought it was don't give yourself away.

Looks like I'm the loser who thought it'd be the Ashlee Simpson song.

"I like it.

I haven't heard the original though."

Yeah..me too.

Of course. My favourite version is the Rick Neilson "angry lyrics" version with the "old maids, dykes and whores" line towards the end of the second verse.

Local H also does a great cover of "Surrender." I heard them do it a couple of times on Mancow's radio show in chicago.
