HarleyQuinn Posted October 6, 2004 Report Posted October 6, 2004 You don't even need to go that far (returning to the previous person and I am guessing reseting the 12 hours.), just let the person who missed their pick hop in whenever they show up, whether it be 1 pick or 10 picks that they miss. That could result in fuckups though. What if he(original guy) makes his pick at the same time as the guy up and they happen to want the same player?
the pinjockey Posted October 6, 2004 Report Posted October 6, 2004 Then the guy who got skipped loses out. Also (if you want to keep the go past 12 hours lose your pick method), I don't even have a problem if you miss your pick and the person after you picks then you lose the pick. I just think it is a little harsh to take the person's pick, if the next person hasn't even made their pick yet.
HarleyQuinn Posted October 6, 2004 Report Posted October 6, 2004 Why not just move the skipped person's pick to the end of the round that he was skipped in?
MarvinisaLunatic Posted October 6, 2004 Report Posted October 6, 2004 I probably wont be able to get on at all friday (if I do, it might just be for a few minutes, probably after 7pm or so) and Saturday it depends on what time I get off work and whether or not I can use getting off late as an excuse not to go to a family thing at 3pm. Chances are good I'll end up going so I probably wont be back to get on until 9 or 10. Im just putting this up to let everyone know about that so you can decide whether or not to wait for me or skip me.
Lightning Flik Posted October 6, 2004 Author Report Posted October 6, 2004 We'll hit ya during a time period when you'll be able to pick, I bet. So no worries. Besides, since you informed me, I'll wait and see when exactly the time frame will be for your pick (should you be unlucky enough to have a pick on Saturday). BTW, pinjockey, I ain't letting them come in and pick whenever they want. That's not really being fair to the league. Just so I don't hear about arguments, the accordance of picks: ~ You have a 12 hour period to make a pick from the last person to make a pick. ~ Should you miss the alloted time, the next person will get to pick with the twelve hour time frame. ~ You will once again get a chance to make a pick. You have only six hours this time. No excuses. ~ Miss the time frame yet again, you'll be skipped over once more who will have a twelve hour time frame. ~ From the second person who gets to pick because you can't, you will have a three hour period to make a pick from when they do. You've now had more than 40 hours to make a pick. ~ You fail the third time, your pick is forfeited and will be placed at the end of the draft. There. Settled. Deal with it.
Guest Mindless_Aggression Posted October 6, 2004 Report Posted October 6, 2004 Eh, sounds fair to me on Flik's part with the skipping over thing So who are we waiting on at the moment?
razazteca Posted October 7, 2004 Report Posted October 7, 2004 Smell the ratings Marvinsalunatic Cuban Linx Dangerous A Mindless Aggression the pinjockey
Guest Smell the ratings!!! Posted October 7, 2004 Report Posted October 7, 2004 dammit this board is so picking about picture addresses I select James Posey of the Memphis Grizzle.
Guest Mindless_Aggression Posted October 7, 2004 Report Posted October 7, 2004 Welp, I do believe it's Marvinslunatic turn to pick someone I was previously planning on selecting, forcing me to choose some guy with bad knees who might average 20 points all season or play 12 games, then retire. Ah, it's beautiful.
Lightning Flik Posted October 7, 2004 Author Report Posted October 7, 2004 If you pick Karl Malone dude, I'll laugh.
Guest Wart Posted October 7, 2004 Report Posted October 7, 2004 Im going to Houston probably Saturday morning or afternoon(depends when the Astros game starts) and wont be back till Sunday evening, so should I just send a list of players to somebody before I leave?
Lightning Flik Posted October 7, 2004 Author Report Posted October 7, 2004 If you want to just make sure you can make a pick Wart, might be an idea. But I wouldn't worry. Most likely we'll get through your pick before then. I'm figuring.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted October 7, 2004 Report Posted October 7, 2004 The Court Jesters select SG, Quentin Richardson, Phoenix Suns

Guest Mindless_Aggression Posted October 7, 2004 Report Posted October 7, 2004 Team_failure~! V 2.0 (YOUR league champion, I might add) selects... Allan Houston Oh boy, talk about not feeling confident in a pick. Let's see how he holds up before I condemn him to hell though. I'm not liking the way my drafts turning out up to this point.
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted October 7, 2004 Report Posted October 7, 2004 Next up is Pinjockey, Razateca, and Cartman.
the pinjockey Posted October 7, 2004 Report Posted October 7, 2004 Serenity selects.... Joe Johnson, G, Phoenix Suns

RASHO NESTEROVIC!
HarleyQuinn Posted October 7, 2004 Report Posted October 7, 2004 *Ivy walks up to the podium* Ivy: You'll have to excuse Harley, she's busy slaughtering Dangerous A for taking Erick Dampier. Regardless of that little situation, the Gotham Harlequins select C Eddy Curry of the Chicago Bulls.
Guest Smell the ratings!!! Posted October 7, 2004 Report Posted October 7, 2004 I forgot all about Jim Rome.
Dangerous A Posted October 7, 2004 Report Posted October 7, 2004 Ballsy move by Cartman taking Howard so early. I'm not saying it's a bad move, but it's ballsy.
razazteca Posted October 7, 2004 Report Posted October 7, 2004 Round 3 Will Scarlet Lightning Flik Alfdogg Alkeiper
Der Kommissar Posted October 7, 2004 Report Posted October 7, 2004 Well, after much debating and flip flopping, the White Tigers select: CHRIS BOSH! (Strangely enough, I nearly took him in the last round, glad I went with Magloire instead.)
Brett Favre Posted October 7, 2004 Report Posted October 7, 2004 Ah crap. I totally forgot about him. Thinking back, i'd probably take him over Marcus Camby.
Cartman Posted October 7, 2004 Report Posted October 7, 2004 Ballsy move by Cartman taking Howard so early. I'm not saying it's a bad move, but it's ballsy. Probably IS a stupid move, but, i'm one to take risks I think Orlando can be a decent team this year with him being a nice piece.
Guest Mindless_Aggression Posted October 7, 2004 Report Posted October 7, 2004 I had Joe Johnson for a time last year. When Penny Hardaway was behind him as his back up he was a 15 points on 15 shots type guy. Now once Penny left, he broke out, but now he's got Qunetin Richardson behind or in front of him. Thats why I wasn't too keen on picking him earlier. Then again, I just picked Allan Houston, so what the fuck do I know? Good pick with Bosh, I was hoping he'd continue to slip, but ah well.
razazteca Posted October 7, 2004 Report Posted October 7, 2004 I just picked Allan Houston, so what the fuck do I know? You want to draft Karl Malone, Dennis Rodman, Grant Hill next.
