Any thoughts? I was a bit disgusted with the high placement of Goldberg (Chavo Classic ranked a bit high as well) but it's an interesting list none the less.

Geez, this list is cut and pasted from the same place every time I see it posted. They left out half my name!

How id Edge anywhere NEAR the 50's? I thought the list is August 2003-August 2004, and he's only been back since late April. He shouldn't even be in the 100's.

This list is always horribly put together.

Matt Morgan ahead of Liger!?

Benjamin ahead of Haas?

American Dragon and Jamie Noble in the 70's?

Oh well, it's not like this list means anything.

Benjamin ahead of Haas?

As he should be.

Um, care to explain?

Shelton got pushed more, more exposure, and had better matches than Charlie had this year. And I'd go out and say he's a better wrestler than Haas, and that's not taking anything away from him.

Who's going to get rated higher? Someone wrestling Triple H on the main event of Raw, or someone wrestling a meaningless tag match with Rico on Smackdown?

Congrats to Chris Benoit and Eddie Guerrero for those high positions, they're more than deserved this time around. I was sure they would place in those exact positions, and the Top 10 looks pretty nice even if I don't follow Puro that much so I don't know what Kobashi or Kawada have done this year.

From a quick glance, Jeff Jarret is way too high as always. Just because he holds that devalued NWA Title and holds on to it by way of guitar shots and constant interfering doesn't make him Top 15 material. He's never had a match on TNA that could even approach the greatness of his match vs HBK on IYH II, the best of his career.

91. Abismo Negro why is he so high, is it because he was on TNA for a few weeks? And whats up with Hector Garza being the token luchadore making the top 25.....I thought that was Shocker's spot.

I just noticed Matt Morgan at number 49. All I can say is "HUH!?!"

It's pointless debating a list like this but that's one that really stuck out to me as well. I can't speak for his OVW work, but his month in the WWE was nothing memorable. Certainly nothing to achieve that high of a ranking.

That's because 90% of the list is based off win/loss records and talent and great matches make up the other 10%

This is a pretty good list, people. There's no reason to knock it.

After all, Undertaker and JBL could wrestle circles around Lyger, right?

Right?

...?

No way Jarrett should be that high. Sorry, NWA champ or not the guy sucks. Watched TNAs Best of the Heavyweights this week, and half tha matches were Doule Js and gawd did they blow

Hell, the best match of the comp was Abyss vs. SABU!!! COME ON!! Eat me Jarrett.

For the 1,000,000th time. This is a kayfabed list. Actual wrestling ability has little to do with it. It is more along the lines of Struan's "Push Me Poll" for what they are trying to accomplish. That's why Matt Morgan rates above these guys. Because in the kayfabed wrestling world, he is harder to defeat. I won't defend that specific selection, but that is the reasoning behind it.

Eugene is #21? Come ON. Seriously.

I am guessing they count his work as Nick Dinsmore in OVW as well.

Hey, thanks for the plug al. The Push-Me Poll, as I see it, is a "kayfabed" list that actually makes sense. There isn't the confusion of win/loss, natural talent / match quality that PWI has. It's all about who's being pushed hardest. The Push-Me Poll is about as representative an objective list of success in North American wrestling as I think there can be. Check it out on the main TSM site or through the links below! ... additional shilling over ...

The PWI 500 is not based on "who has better wrestling ability - Jushin Liger or JBL"

It is based on:

Who had a more successful year - JBL or Liger?

Who garnered more mainstream attention - JBL or Liger?

Who has better technical skill - JBL or Liger?

Who was involved in more big-time matches - JBL or Liger?

Who showed more improvement - JBL or Liger?

Who won more big time matches - JBL or Liger?

Who lost more big time matches? JBL or Liger?

Who did the most with a push? JBL or Liger?

Who won more important titles? JBL or Liger?

Who had a better W/L record? JBL or Liger?

Not "who is the smark darling" or "who can wrestler better"...

Figure that into your calculations, as well as OVW time (Morgan, Moredecai, Eugene, etc.) before you bash it.

The list has a few noticeable errors, but otherwise is pretty accurate.

Keep in mind the time period, as well.

September 2003 to August 2004.
