He brings a good point that the Cardinals were never supposed to be there that this season was really just creating the nucleus with Pujols, Edmonds, Rolen and building around them. I'd be very pressed to give any pitcher besides Foulke the nod in a four-game series since they only had a single performance each, thus only contributing to one win. As a Cards fan it was a bit of a surreal and a numb feeling, it was almost like the series did not happen, it was just over so quickly. I thought I heard they might not do one because of all the people (and there will be a shitload of people there; I went to the Pats parade in February, and I thought there were a lot of people THEN.) This title is really for guys like my dad and his friends, who were around for '86, '75, and in some cases, '46 (my dad was in the bleachers for Game 6 in '75). I mean, I'm estatic, but I was only FOUR in 1986, so I barely remember what happened. The real "tortured" fans are people over 30, not the drunk college kids.
