Guest Salacious Crumb Report post Posted November 3, 2004 They want to ACTUALLY steal an election here. What's good for the goose is good for the gander Except Bush didn't steal the election. Kerry is trying to overturn a 120,000+ vote margin in OH, a nearly 3M margin nationally. Fuck the DNC. -=Mike yes he did Fuck Bush and the Republican scaredy-cats Please explain how Bush is going to steal this election when he has a 3% lead in the popular vote and a lead in Ohio that makes it virtually impossible for Kerry to win. I can bullshit on this idea that there's 250k provisional ballots out there.
Guest MikeSC Report post Posted November 3, 2004 Mike, please DO stop with the UnAmericanism speech. If that's the case, 48% of the country hates America. Anyone will tell you that is rubbish. If you support fighting this obvious outcome, you are, as I figured, trying to tear down the political system because, like a petulant child, you are unable to handle a loss. If the shoe fits --- and with Gabe, it does --- that's his problem. Uh, not really. And if you want to say Bush won the popular vote, then you need to count all of them anyway. I find it cute that you think Kerry has a prayer. -=Mike
Jobber of the Week 0 Report post Posted November 3, 2004 11 states ban gay marriage, and most of those also include provisions for banning civil unions and every sort of legal protections for gay couples. That's the saddest story of this election. Fuck Mississippi. Jon Stewart: "In Mississippi, you are no longer allowed to even look at a dude."
Guest Loss Report post Posted November 3, 2004 And if a gay man wants to marry a woman, he has every right to do so. If you want to change the rules, you have to make your case --- and your side has clearly failed to do so. That is amazingly unfair. You're asking us to challenge people's religious beliefs. There's no precedent for such a thing. People's minds are made up on the issue. The only refuge is to look to the government for help, and this administration betrayed us. So, no proof then. Got it. Like you have proof for 90% of the things you say. You have this weird idea of what debating is supposed to be that I don't grasp at all. Wow. Trying to argue for something on an abnormally rare event? Hate to break it to you, but incestual rape is not exactly a massive problem. I don't think we can safely say that, considering that the victims aren't typically the types to speak up. And yes, every decision should be made in an attempt to cover all of those abnormally rare events. One person falling through the cracks of the system is one person too many. It'd be like me opposing gay marriage because a few gay men like to molest little boys. A weak argument that one should be too ashamed to make in seriousness. This is an offensive example. I could just as easily oppose heterosexual marriage because a few straight me like to molest little boys. Why? You wouldn't believe him. The fact checkers had cred with me because they were fair. I wouldn't have believed him. But had he said it, I could at least hold him to his word and hope he did the right thing. He's given me nothing to work with, not even a false sense of security. That is sad, honestly. Why even have an FDA if their approval will not protect somebody from lawsuits based on side effects that are stated in the documentation of the product? Because any information made available regarding a publicly sold product, especially something for public consumption, should be subject to being challenged. That's why lawsuits exist. In a case like that, I'd probably support an arbitrary hearing over a lawsuit if there were no health-related side effects. No, the problem is that you don't like the outcome. So be it. I thought it was utter bullshit that Clinton got away with all he did. As did I. I hated Clinton. He did irreparable damage to the country. Bush has sadly continued most of his policies. St. Gabe 0 Report post Posted November 3, 2004 And you cut off the important part of the message... Barring 150,000 Kerry votes showing up and no Bush votes to counteract them, Kerry LOST Ohio and you're trying to argue otherwise. Hopefully we get those votes, and to be quite honest with you, I don't care if they are legit or not. Now that might be fraudulent, but I'm okay with that as long as my guy wins. Not that their witty reparte has redeemed them. He wasn't saying it because of how anyone voted. He is saying it because people want to cause shit by stretching this thing out by contesting something which is obviously finished. That will only hurt the country, and his party. teke184 0 Report post Posted November 3, 2004 More news- Wisconsin is only for Kerry by a margin of about 10,000-15,000 votes. Wisconsin + Iowa + New Mexico or Nevada = 21 EVs... which counteracts a theoretical Bush loss in Ohio.

2GOLD 0 Report post Posted November 3, 2004 No, you guys are missing the important part that calling someone an antipatriot based on how they vote, when the country is nearly split, is deeply shitty. Not that their witty reparte has redeemed them. The anti-patriot talk started when some jerks came in trying to scream "Republicans stole this!" and "how can Americans be so stupid?!?!" I mean, where was the respect? I didn't vote for Bush or Kerry so I'm in the middle on this and Mike has been extremely respectful...for well, Mike. Respect has to be a two way street. D-Mann handled it perfectly and no one jumped on him for voting Kerry. So far, the real arrogance has come from people yelling, "how can Americans be so stupid to vote for Bush?!?!" as if their vote was wrong because it wasn't Kerry. If you voted for Kerry, fine and good If you voted for Bush, fine and good Right now, Kerry is acting stupid.

There's no precedent for such a thing. People's minds are made up on the issue. The only refuge is to look to the government for help, and this administration betrayed us. That's PRECISELY what you're doing. This is something that your side has to do --- or else they should not complain. If your position is so unpopular that NOBODY will vote for it, that ought to tell you how incredibly bad your side is at making their case. So, no proof then. Got it. Like you have proof for 90% of the things you say. You have this weird idea of what debating is supposed to be that I don't grasp at all. Actually, I do. Almost every single time. Wow. I could just as easily oppose heterosexual marriage because a few straight me like to molest little boys. Straight men don't molest boys. If they molest boys, by definition, they're not straight. And the example is offensive. You're right. It's also insanely comparable to the assumption that parents shouldn't have the right to know about their daughter having an abortion because a tiny fraction of parents MIGHT molest their child. It's offensive to you because it is worded specifically to show how offensive your assumption is. Why? You wouldn't believe him. The fact checkers had cred with me because they were fair. I wouldn't have believed him. But had he said it, I could at least hold him to his word and hope he did the right thing. He's given me nothing to work with, not even a false sense of security. Can you name an example of Bush trying to outlaw abortion? Can the fact-checkers? Then why does Bush even need to say it, when his actions should indicate far more. No, the problem is that you don't like the outcome. So be it. I thought it was utter bullshit that Clinton got away with all he did. As did I. I hated Clinton. Votes were counted (numerous times) and Bush won every single recount I saw. In fact, Republicans possibly even lost votes since voters in the heavily Republican Panhandle area may have been discouraged from voting by the early calls for Gore by the media pundits?
