GreatWhiteNope Posted November 20, 2004 Report Posted November 20, 2004 ESPN announcers just said that the NBA is mad at them for saying players were justified in going into the stands because they were provoked. The announcers then clarified - it wasn't justified, but it was "understandable".
Brett Favre Posted November 20, 2004 Report Posted November 20, 2004 True it's been a great game. But the brawl has made me forget about the Knicks near victory in Dallas.
bobobrazil1984 Posted November 20, 2004 Report Posted November 20, 2004 ^ sounded like they were justifying it to me, but what do I know? Anyways, it woulda been great if, during the brawl, Ron artest looked into the camera and been like "November 23rd, Allure's Cd. Buy it." smiles and thumbs up.

Gert T Posted November 20, 2004 Report Posted November 20, 2004 True it's been a great game. But the brawl has made me forget about the Knicks near victory in Dallas. I agree I am a Jazz fan and have almost forgot how they blew tonight's game in Miami!

AlwaysPissedOff Posted November 20, 2004 Report Posted November 20, 2004 I'm taping this shit right NOW.
The Electrifyer Posted November 20, 2004 Report Posted November 20, 2004 Wart: Those pics are priceless.
The Electrifyer Posted November 20, 2004 Report Posted November 20, 2004 I love the quote on this site about Jim Grey: http://www.insidehoops.com/nba_rumors.shtml "ESPN's Jim Grey spoke at midnight, ET on ESPN about the incident. His voice was quivering. He sounded extremely shaken up."
Brett Favre Posted November 20, 2004 Report Posted November 20, 2004 Jermaine O'Neal looked like a fucking badass popping that guy in the face.
AlwaysPissedOff Posted November 20, 2004 Report Posted November 20, 2004 Man, these replays are priceless. J.O. just knocked the living shit out of that one guy.
AlwaysPissedOff Posted November 20, 2004 Report Posted November 20, 2004 So, anybody wanna take bets on which game has the Bulls/Knicks-like brawl on Christmas Day?
LaParkaMarka Posted November 20, 2004 Report Posted November 20, 2004 I hope they both do. Oddly enough, this had made me infinitely more interested in Basketball. Chris Chelios was courtside for the whole thing. He's familiar with fights.
Cuban Linx Posted November 20, 2004 Report Posted November 20, 2004 Hopefully all these replays and stuff end up on the net sooner or later so i can see them, O'Neal levelling that dumbass is great. I'm sure the NBA is salivating over their double header of hate for Christmas right now.
AlwaysPissedOff Posted November 20, 2004 Report Posted November 20, 2004 Cuban, you don't have ESPN? The replays are going nonstop on SportsCenter.
bob_barron Posted November 20, 2004 Report Posted November 20, 2004 No ESPN for me. I'm patiently waiting for Sportscentre to come on at 2
GreatWhiteNope Posted November 20, 2004 Report Posted November 20, 2004 Cuban, you don't have ESPN? The replays are going nonstop on SportsCenter. Do they replay this edition of Sportscenter? It's awesome. I want to tape it. Hopefully a torrent shows up.
2GOLD Posted November 20, 2004 Report Posted November 20, 2004 Bullshit. Ron Atrest gets assaulted and he's the bad guy?? Sorry, but what a joke. These fans are a joke and they were a disgrace. And yes, getting hit in the face with almost anything can be an assault charge. Artest was assaulted, he had every damn right to go into the stands. This "players should never go into the stands" is bull, these guys are humans and they shouldn't be expected to just accept assault. And why in the HELL were the police ready to pepper spray the PACERS?!?!
Cuban Linx Posted November 20, 2004 Report Posted November 20, 2004 Australia ESPN doesn't show all the same stuff as USA ESPN unfortunately, i got the Pacers-Pistons game live but after that we've been getting soccer or some shit instead of the Kings-Grizz game and the many replays.
Damaramu Posted November 20, 2004 Report Posted November 20, 2004 I am taping the 1 AM Sportscenter and then Sportscenter from 5 AM until College Gameday comes on. That's right I'm getting everyone of them just so I have 1000 replays!
GreatWhiteNope Posted November 20, 2004 Report Posted November 20, 2004 The guy in the white shirt SO threw that water bottle at Artest. From every angle he has that "holy shit I just got away with murder" look on his face. He even jumps up and down while smiling and laughing.

This "players should never go into the stands" is bull, these guys are humans and they shouldn't be expected to just accept assault. Well, Artest actually attacked the wrong guy(the one with the white hat and blue shirt that was holding him initially was the real culprit of the bottle-throwing). Hope Ron's been saving up some, cause he may need it in the worst way.
Kurt Angle Mark Posted November 20, 2004 Report Posted November 20, 2004 After watching the repeats The event that caused this to break loose was when Artest after charging the fan seemed to have gain some control of himself (after being subdued) , was hit with a drink right in his face by the fan to his right, causing Jackson to start swinging at that fan. If it wasn't for that perhaps none of this happens
2GOLD Posted November 20, 2004 Report Posted November 20, 2004 I've yet to see any angle that proves who threw the bottle. It's just Artest lying on a table and a bottle strikes him in the face. And what kind of moron is jumping up and down happily after someone just gets hit in the face with a bottle?

From the one angle, it actually looks like that black girl in the Pistons jersey tossed it at him.
razazteca Posted November 20, 2004 Report Posted November 20, 2004 Just saw the video of this on ESPN! Damn that is so wrong. The 1st thing that should be done is to put the fan in jail to be made an example of, 2nd put long term suspensions on Artest, Jackson, O'Neal for fighting back, 3rd stop selling beer after halftime.

He just grabs him almost like he's about to threaten him and suddenly someone else punches Ron in the back of the head and all hell breaks loose. It LOOKS like Artest punched him, but he just grabs the nerd.
