Lil' Bitch Posted October 12, 2005 Report Posted October 12, 2005 Why didn't Ken Shamrock get the IC title at WM 14? The real reason.
Slickster Posted October 12, 2005 Report Posted October 12, 2005 That WWF Radio that was at RR94...was that picked up by actual stations around the country? How did that work? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It was a syndicated radio network, not unlike the NASCAR Radio Network or talk shows like Rush Limbaugh. Stations paid for the programming and it was beamed to them and sent out over their local airwaves. Radio WWE was a weekly show hosted by JR for a long time as well.

UGHHHHHHH topic, How about when they did Radio WWF before Royal Rumble 2000, I was mad cuz I didnt get it here.
MillenniumMan831 Posted October 16, 2005 Report Posted October 16, 2005 Basically Steamboat kept that gimmick for the rest of his career in some form. Hell, take a look at the box for Spring Stampede 94, it's him in his goofy Dragon gear.<{POST_SNAPBACK}> Although the goofy Dragon garb stayed, his theme music was badass in 94.

I thought they were priming him for it as well.
Epic Reine Posted October 16, 2005 Report Posted October 16, 2005 What was Rey Mysterio doing from the time WCW went out of business to when WWE signed him in 2002?
Guest *KNK* Posted October 16, 2005 Report Posted October 16, 2005 What was Rey Mysterio doing from the time WCW went out of business to when WWE signed him in 2002? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'm not sure if he was one of the workers who got paid by Time Warner to sit out, but he was recuperating from a knee injury anyways.
Mystery Eskimo Posted October 16, 2005 Report Posted October 16, 2005 He did a little indie stuff before entering WWE. Not much though.
daileyxplanet Posted October 17, 2005 Report Posted October 17, 2005 I saw a video boasting "Rey Mysterio vs. Eddie Guerrero vs. CM Punk" So there's an answer.

Epic Reine Posted October 17, 2005 Report Posted October 17, 2005 Here's a good one: During the end of '99, there was a strange man in the audience that would always hold up signs during the Godfather's and Val Venis' matches that said something along the lines of that what they stodd for (A pimp and a porn star) was immoral and whatever. The man would then distract the wrestlers and would eventually lose their respective matches because of it. I remember one incident in particular back in '99 that had Godfather vs Kurt Angle (Night after Survivor Series, Kurt's Raw debut) and the man showed up and flashed a signed in front of the Godfather which distracted him and Angle came from behind with the Angle Slam and won. What was this all going to lead to?

God knows where it was heading.
Black Lushus Posted October 17, 2005 Report Posted October 17, 2005 when did those two join the RTC? After 99/end of 99? did this stuff mentioned tie into the RTC at all?
Zack Malibu Posted October 17, 2005 Report Posted October 17, 2005 That guy was the prototype for the RTC gimmick. The RTC itself didn't start until summer of '00, as Richards came out during RAW night after KOTR 2000 in his new RTC gimmick for the first time.
cabbageboy Posted October 17, 2005 Report Posted October 17, 2005 Yeah I remember Val being managed by Trish for a while in 2000 well before RTC. It was after he lost the IC title I think. The RTC basically killed the heat of anyone associated with it.
Hunter's Torn Quad Posted October 18, 2005 Report Posted October 18, 2005 That guy was the prototype for the RTC gimmick. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I think it might have been a version of Phil Mushnick.

They compromised (given that it is Wrestlemania and the history of title changes there) by letting Shamrock go over like he did.

Guest MikeSC Posted October 19, 2005 Report Posted October 19, 2005 The guy was, if memory serves, David Koeshner (spelling is way the hell off), formerly of SNL.
BUTT Posted October 19, 2005 Report Posted October 19, 2005 What was the reason for having Terry Funk come in under the "Chainsaw Charlie" name?
Guest The Iron Yuppie Posted October 19, 2005 Report Posted October 19, 2005 What was the reason for having Terry Funk come in under the "Chainsaw Charlie" name? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> If I recall correctly, in Foley's book, he says that it was Funk's idea, to debut coming out of a wooden box with a chainsaw and to use that moniker. Why he wanted that, I have no idea.

Dust lost the match and wanted a rematch, but Vince wound up giving the shot to Dude Love (after foley beat funk), Dust came out the next week in plain clothes denouncing vince and how he made him dress like a freak and everything and wouldnt even give him a shot. He burned the dust ring attire in a trashcan and from then on was simply Dustin Runnels, he wrestled in all balck and cowboy boots and prayed before each match. He started to preach abput all the immoral stuff in WWF.
Lil' Bitch Posted October 19, 2005 Report Posted October 19, 2005 yeah, it was pretty funny because he was acting all totally nice, everytime he would cut a promo / vignette, he would be in white clothes sometimes with this bright light and church music playing talking about how HE was coming back (obviously refering to Jesus), but it turned out he was talking about Goldust. Too bad his time as himself was just him jobbing on Jakked.
Epic Reine Posted October 20, 2005 Report Posted October 20, 2005 Did Hogan and Flair have a singles match during Flair's WWF run in '92?
cabbageboy Posted October 20, 2005 Report Posted October 20, 2005 They had plenty of matches on house shows but never a big PPV match. It's kind of mindblowing really that they never did that match and cashed in. But then it would require either 1. Jobbing out Flair right as he debuted and killing his heat. Or 2. Hogan jobbing, which he probably wouldn't want to do.
