Pretty similar to yours, although I'd probably say I like Spine of God the best. I do rather like Powertrip, I think it's better than Superjudge for sure, and holds it's own with the rest of the earlier stuff.

I still haven't heard their newest one.

I FINALLY FOUND FOZZY'S NEW ALL-ORIGINALS ALBUM!

It's pretty good. A few tracks leave a lot to be desired, especially after the promise that the originals off of Happenstance showed, particularly "To Kill A Stranger." "Born Of Anger," "Lazarus," and "Enemy" are my favorite tunes at the current moment off of it.

Soft Cell really isn't very bad at all. Listening to before & After Science right now. I am feeling serene.

I thought Glucifer was a good band name, but it would have been better if it was Glusnifer. I also like the Hellacopters. I dig retarded shit like that.

lucinda williams might turn me into a country fan. 'car wheels on a gravel road' is REALLY growing on me, and i'm having a hard time figuring out reasons that it's so good that don't directly relate to its countryness.

Last year, when Camper Van Beethoven released New Roman Times—their first album in 15 years—I wasn't very impressed with it. However, after seeing them live this past Monday (they were really, really good), I gave it another spin and found I enjoyed it a lot more than I initially did. I like when that happens.

Hail To The Thief is, with the exception of that stupid Mars Volta album, the most self indulgant rock album to be released in years.

It's still a lot better than I remember it being the last time I listened to it, though.

I recently traded in my old copy of Crunk Juice for the one with the bonus remixes.

The remix of "Let's Go" was garbage, as that is one of my favorite songs ever, and they totally did it no justice. I can't really tell if the remix utilized the Halloween theme or if it was just similar, but the first time I heard it I thought I was about to have an orgasm as taking one of my favorite songs ever and putting it over the Halloween theme is just insane on the level of a peanut butter truck crashing into a chocolate truck, but it just didn't work out for some reason. Sad.

The remix of "What You Gon' Do" with Elephant Man was really good though, and made me think Elephant Man was ok. I had previously found him a little irritating.

Bringing in Bad Brains on "Roll Call" was good as well.

I also like the remix of "Lean Back" about a million times better than the original. Eminem and Lil Jon together is fucking cool.

If CDs were priced by the the ounce, you could buy entire record stores.

Not if they were a thousand dollars an ounce. If that was a reference to something, I totally fucked it in the ass, too.

The Arcade Fire show last night in D.C. was as good as I had hoped, better in fact. For people on the fence about them, they're worth seeing if they're nearby. When the Napoleon Dynamite-lookin' guy strapped on his motorcycle helmet and started climbing the lighting rig to beat on some parkands with drumsticks, I knew we were in for a pretty good show. The band also has some incredibly cute, slightly retarded looking women in it, which is always a plus.

Neurosis is better than Tool at everything Tool does well, except for be accessible, over nearly the exact same timeframe, more prolifically than Tool.

Touche. But I was going for a dollar per ounce. Silly me.

Unrelated: I dont get the hype behind "Antics." I've gone through it three times, and I just dont understand the almost fanatical love of this album. Am I missing something?

I'm starting to like Emma Bunton's solo albums more than I used to. I generally considered them high average, but after repeated listenings in the right mood, they're getting better.

Also, I like the way she looks these days. She always looked kind of retro, physically, but now she's played it up, and comes off very early 70s. Better than her Spice days.

I never much cared for Tool.

This Neurosis band sounds something I'd like.

What are some recommendations?

Is there really that much hype for it? I've almost universally seen it reviewed less favorably than the debut.

But I love it. It was a slow grower, and then something clicked. The first few times I listened to it, the album sounded fairly pedestrian, and I was disappointed. Now I found myself listening to it about 2-3 times a week. The lyrics are worlds better than on Turn on the Bright Lights, and the group has really amped up their pop sensibility to include all sorts of sounds. It still might not be as good as the debut, but it sounds as if it were made by a much more experienced, improved band, if that makes sense.

If you accuse Tool of being boring, you probably won't have the patience for Neurosis, as they're very heady. Lots of trancey kinda riffs that go on hypnotically, then change, and it's hard to figure out when exactly that happened, but you'll be glad it did, then it happens again like that. Most of their albums take a couple spins to get into.

Through Silver and Blood and Souls at Zero are my two favorite albums of theirs. The newest release, The Eye of Every Storm is a lot more accessible than the other two I mentioned, but probably not as good.

I've always had a hard time picking my all time favorite album, but the more I listen to Paul's Boutique, the more it becomes my clear cut all time favorite. I LOVE this album so much. And I love it more and more each time I hear it. This is my most listened to Beastie Boys album and with good reason. Now, I have an answer when someone asks me what my favorite album of all time is. It's an awesome record.

Speaking of awesome records, can you people recommend me some awesome funk and jazz records? Since some of my favorite rap songs have used funk and jazz samples, I figured that I go straight to the source, and see where these samples came from and see what I find so I would like to know which records to get to start me off. Any help would be great, thanks in advance.

Jaco Pastorious-self titled. There's nothing funkier than a fretless bass, and he's the master of the instrument.

This new Low album, The Great Destroyer, is a lot better than many have claimed. Plus, it doesn't come off *that* different from their last couple of albums, in spite of practically everything being written about it states. Feels like a natural progression.

I've only heard Lifted. Musically, it was overwrought and bombastic (though it wasn't bad), but the cringe-inducing, Troubled Teen lyrics were all sorts of horrible.

I don't think Conor Oberst is the anti-christ or anything, but the guy should shut up.

Today I considered that in the "Straight Outta Compton" video, the "gat that's pointed at your ass" line is amended to "bass that's dropping in your face" and they zoom in on Dr. Dre's face, but in an uncensored video, they would have had to zoom in on his ass.
