RHR 0 Report post Posted November 28, 2004 Ok. So they FINALLY give Paul something to do with the Tag Title run with Billy. Then, they put on a solid ***(maybe 1/2 on top) match at a PPV, Paul is taken out by the SSP. Then, Eddie Guerrero talks about a "friend" who SHOULD HAVE BEEN Paul London, but, then, no one shows up, and nothing is ever mentioned again. And now, Velocity. Which means, my Smackdown Paul London drinking game can continue (a good thing) because it looks to be rare appearances for one of the Top 5 "wrestlers" this company has. (Yeah, I said it. Benoit, Guerrero, Angle, Benjamin, and London. Opinions vary.) Here is the opportunity for WWE to build up a division of solid workers that can support the framework for the main events, and keep the loyal fan base (US! We bitch alot, but, we are the only audience they can count on. For some reason or another, we keep watching.) happy, and, Paul London is on Velocity. A show that I have no freakin' clue when it's on, or on what channel. Pathetic.
Myxamatosis 0 Report post Posted November 28, 2004 Didn't Spanky leave the company after he thought he was being depushed? I sort of remember something along those lines. London should do the same. I'm 100% serious. Raven has said that working a high amount of independent dates pays pretty well. London is a big draw out there. Smarks like us would pay to him. Marks would pay to see him now because of his WWE exposure. I'm just so sick of this WWE political B.S. You've got an awesome, charismatic worker like London and, much like the Dallas Cowboys and Drew Henson, they give him the ball only to take it away.
Guest Salacious Crumb Report post Posted November 28, 2004 They never had any intention of pushing him.
Guest LooneyTune Report post Posted November 28, 2004 How is he being depushed? Because he was on Velocity? I guess that means Luther Reigns & Mark Jindrak are being depushed. Spike Dudley is jobbing to SHANNON MOORE. He must be being depushed too. Sometimes they can't fit everyone on SD. Kidman? He was on Velocity. Chavo? Velocity. Bashams? Still Velocity...I can continue for a few hours.
RHR 0 Report post Posted November 28, 2004 But in a return from an injury at a freakin' PPV, that's the big comeback? He should have come out during a Kidman SD match, SSP'd Kidman's match, and continue the feud...with a SSP vs. SSP Ladder Match that goes 15 minutes at Armageddon. Have London win, and start going after Spike for the title at RR. Then, at NWO, London/Rey/RVD take out the Dudleys in a 6 man tag. Rey asks London for a match at Mania, and we get a 15 minute, Rey vs. London WMXXI match for the title. There great matches, good booking. But no. VELOCITY. And, Triple H is winning the fucking BR tomorrow. As I said, this fucking company....

Plus, there like 7 feet 7. The concept of anyone that size in the WWE being depushed is ridiculous. Plus, Luther was on Smackdown pulling double duty cutting a character defining promo. Spike is the cruiserweight champ. He is always vulnerable. According to WWE, a champ losing on a regular basis equals compelling angles. Either way, I'd considering him to apart of ppv everytime Smackdown is up to bat. Kidman and Chavo ar embroiled in a heated feud. But London? What direction does he have? He's getting his ass handed to him by the Bashams, that's his direction! He went from a moderate direction to no direction at all. It's called being depushed. He was put out of action by Kidman and he's doesn't even confront the man. A three way match between Chavo, Kidman and London would be amazing.
Guest LooneyTune Report post Posted November 28, 2004 Funaki took the pinfall, not London. I forgot to mention that. I'm shocked that people are crying over "Win/Losses", when everyone and their mother in WWE says they don't matter...unless you're Shawn Michaels and cry to Vince about doing a job. Guest Fook_Theta Report post Posted November 28, 2004 Knowing Creative they will likely involve him in some way, even though it would mean just a little more if London made the re-debuting at an important match instead of Velocity. Sloppy match though, which I don't want to say was the Bashams fault, but it appeared to be that way.
CanadianChick 0 Report post Posted November 28, 2004 I wouldn't be shocked if London "returned" next week and this Velocity is never mentioned.
natey2k4 0 Report post Posted November 28, 2004 Yeah this is just to let fans know he's still around. This Velocity apperances will be "ignored" when he comes back to Smackdown. IF Paul London is going to be Chavo's friend, then YES it could still happen. No devolpment was made on the storyline this week, because if was Thanksgiving for most, and WWE Creative like them or not, was smart enough to not book anything storyline wise on SD! this week. They could of put on better matches, but whatever. Technically Paul London hasn't come back to SMACKDOWN! from his injury, so it may very well happen that he still is Chavo's friend. However, would it make much sense for London to be Chavo's friend. Do they have a history that we know of? No. And why would London wait around before kicking Kidman's ass for injuring him? **Any chance Asai (Ultimo Dragon) could be Chavo's old friend... they do have somewhat of a history in WCW? Maybe Juvi, although I'm sure we would of heard of something if he had been signed.** Velocity this week was probably used just to give London a match before he returned. Figuring no one would watch this week, why make his return this week when no one is watching? Make it next so its important..(or even Armageddon)... Believe it or not, WWE Creative did something smart... for once. Let's hope this all makes sense.. and WWE Creative doesnt fuck this up in the next few weeks and London returns to SD in full force, before or at Armageddon. That's a lot easier to ignore than actually appearing on WWE television, no matter how many/few people watched.
slimm44 0 Report post Posted November 29, 2004 Velocity doesn't mean he is being depushed. There is nothing for him to do. So to give him airtime and a chance to wrestle they put him on Velocity. This is why AJ Styles chose not to sign with WWE By the way it was Chavo not Eddie who mentioned the "friend"

You'd have a million threads "WHAT THE FUCK, LONDON ISN'T EVEN GOOD ENOUGH FOR VELOCITY ANYMORE?!" And don't say they wouldnt, because alot of them would. London is one of my favourite wrestlers, and has been for over 2 years. But still, I would rather have him losing on Velocity in a warm-up match, so I get to see him rather then him fighting a dark match, which I cant watch. Spaceman Spiff 0 Report post Posted November 29, 2004 The point of having him work dark matches is to have him work off the ring rust before his "big" comeback. Have him interfere during the cruiser title match at Armageddon (if there is one) to set up Spike/London. Cole/Tazz can put over "we haven't seen London since Kidman put him out of action!" without a bunch of people saying "we just saw him the last 2 weeks on Velocity".
