Guest Fook_Theta Posted December 5, 2004 Report Posted December 5, 2004 Well as the title suggests, has a black wrestler ever had a memorable crimson mask? Bret Hart has a had one or two, Austin had one, several japanese wrestlers have had them, and Raven had a close encounter with a cheese grater. Yet off the top of my feeble brain I cannot remember the last time I saw a black wrestler specifically in WWE/F 'sport' a crimson mask to cement a feud.
Guest dreamer420 Posted December 5, 2004 Report Posted December 5, 2004 The Rock did a nasty blade job during a cage match on Raw I think.
DerangedHermit Posted December 5, 2004 Report Posted December 5, 2004 The Rock did a nasty blade job during a cage match on Raw I think. The one where the Two Man Power Trip was formed, right?
Slickster Posted December 5, 2004 Report Posted December 5, 2004 There was one during his 2000 Benoit feud where he literally covered the ring; it was almost Mass Transit-level bleeding.
ChrisMWaters Posted December 5, 2004 Report Posted December 5, 2004 I think the reason you don't see black men have a Crimson Mask that often is because the darkness of their skin will reduce the effect of the red of the blood. That's just my thought on the situation. ...of course, they could easily prove me wrong in the near future and have Shelton Benjamin get a crimson mask.

bob_barron Posted December 5, 2004 Report Posted December 5, 2004 No- Rock did his gig job after a cage match with Bossman and Bull.
JoeDirt Posted December 5, 2004 Report Posted December 5, 2004 I'm sure Abdullah the Butcher has worn a crimson mask on more than one occasion.
Hunter's Torn Quad Posted December 5, 2004 Report Posted December 5, 2004 I'm sure Abdullah the Butcher has worn a crimson mask on more than one occasion. I'm not sure Abby seemed like the kind of guy who bled a lot...
Placebo Effect Posted December 5, 2004 Report Posted December 5, 2004 New Jack's had a few matches where blood has been dripping down his face.
Vampiro69 Posted December 11, 2004 Report Posted December 11, 2004 The Rock's big crimson mask came the night after Wrestlemania 17 I belive and he and Austin had a rematch for the title before he went off to make a movie. I think the movie was The Mummy Returns.

The Mandarin Posted December 11, 2004 Report Posted December 11, 2004 First time I remember Rock bleeding is--I think--the Armaggeddon 6-Way HIAC. He may have bled at Summerslam '98, though. Oddly enough, that's also the first time I remember Kurt Angle bleeding. I don't think it was a blade job though, he may have just got cut up. Speaking of which, I can't name more than five matches Angle has bladed in.
dpac Posted December 11, 2004 Report Posted December 11, 2004 Abby, The Gangstas, D-Von, and for that matter any other black man who ever wrestled in ECW. Did Skipper blade at the last ppV?

Benjamin was busted open pretty good by evolution a few weeks after his win over HHH
Lt. Al Giardello Posted December 12, 2004 Report Posted December 12, 2004 The Rock had a nice one againest Austin at WMX7.
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted December 12, 2004 Report Posted December 12, 2004 The Headhunters have both done serious crimson masks at various points. Going back further, I have to believe Bobo Brazil has a good bladejob or two to his credit.
Guest The Shadow Behind You Posted December 12, 2004 Report Posted December 12, 2004 The Rock's blades are horrible with the exception of the aforementioned gigs during the Bull cage match and the 2 Man Power Trip formation cage match. His blood is too thin to effectively work. Look how weak his blade was at WMX7. Just for the hell of it; Here's my top 10 Crimson masks. 1. Steve Corino 2. Ric Flair 3. Triple H 4. HBK 5. Austin 6. Mick Foley 7. Bret Hart 8. Eddy Guerrero (Judgment Day 04' alone puts him in here) 9. Barry Windham 10. Terry Funk
