BHK Posted December 6, 2004 Report Posted December 6, 2004 On last week's Raw, HHH was not involved in the finish of the Triple Threat match. WIth jericho as GM, does this knock Hunter out of the running completely? Is it just so they can give him another title reign by having him win it back at New Year's Revolution from Benoit, thereby getting his job back and then dropping it to Orton at WM 21? Is it possible that they're building to something other than HHH/Orton for the WM 21 main event? HHH/Batista perhaps? Thoughts on this, anyone?
DMann2003 Posted December 6, 2004 Report Posted December 6, 2004 Not that it means much, but the digital cable preview says "Who is the new champion, Edge or Benoit?"
Guest BGNJ Posted December 6, 2004 Report Posted December 6, 2004 The answer to that is neither. Here's my opinion of what will happen: Edge and Benoit will fight and determine who the champ is. Next week HHH comes out and says since Orton hit him with a chair and he shouldn't have been involved in the match anyway the match should have been thrown out and therefore neither Benoit or Edge will be the champ. This will nullify everything that has been going on the past few weeks.

No, is was Edge that pinned Benoit at Survivor Series.
slimm44 Posted December 6, 2004 Report Posted December 6, 2004 What should go down is Jericho holds the title up tonight and makes a fatal four way between him HHH, Edge and Benoit.

No, is was Edge that pinned Benoit at Survivor Series. From Prowrestlinghistory.com: Randy Orton, Maven, Chris Benoit, & Chris Jericho beat Triple H, Gene Snitsky, Batista, & Edge (24:31) in an “elimination” match. Orton was the sole survivor. Triple H pinned Benoit (7:24). Jericho pinned Batista (10:39). Snitsky was DQed (16:05). Triple H pinned Maven (16:50). Edge pinned Jericho (19:04). Orton pinned Edge (22:59). Orton pinned Triple H (24:31).
tbondrage99 Posted December 6, 2004 Report Posted December 6, 2004 This is what I think should happen. Jericho makes a no DQ match between Benoit and Edge, so that there will be a winner either way screw job or not and while hes at it would name himself the #1 contender for the title at the next Raw PPV as not to miss out on his title shot. A friend of mine said that Jericho should go totally curropt with power and just say that since there is no clear champion that he would award himself the title. Being a huge Jericho fan I would love to see that happen even though we know it wont.
Guest Loss Posted December 6, 2004 Report Posted December 6, 2004 I would like to think there's a reason they're doing Week Jericho after Week Orton, but I'd like to think a lot of things.
Lord of The Curry Posted December 6, 2004 Report Posted December 6, 2004 Holy shit, an original thread. He ain't dropping it tonight. If we're fantasy booking, I'd dig seeing Jericho pull out the not-often-seen Double Jeopardy match that was used in ECW. Hell, he could reference the DVD while he's at it. Two matches going on at the same time, no dq's. Jericho vs Edge and Benoit vs HHH. HHH goes over Benoit and Jericho goes over Edge so we get Jericho vs HHH for the world title. The problem with this match is that the booking basically dictates the the two matches finish at the same time or else the dynamic of the situation is lost.

You forget....Vince didnt come up with this idea so we will most likely never see this type of match in the WWE.
Guest Trivia247 Posted December 6, 2004 Report Posted December 6, 2004 HHH won't lose it, it will remain in contravisery for one more week then when Bischoff comes back he will cement his Tweener back to Heel role and reaward the title to HHH due to Orton's interferance
tbondrage99 Posted December 6, 2004 Report Posted December 6, 2004 I think Vince should show up with some sage like advice on this situation....
Lord of The Curry Posted December 6, 2004 Report Posted December 6, 2004 Jericho should declare the title vacant and book a mini-tournament for the night. It'd be a simple way to start up new feuds and could create some really interesting scenarios, as well as being a good way to add fuel to the impending Batista/HHH confrontation.
Guest Loss Posted December 6, 2004 Report Posted December 6, 2004 Jericho will look like a total tool if he books a title match that doesn't involve him in some capacity. And I have a strange feeling that's exactly what he's going to do.
Lord of The Curry Posted December 6, 2004 Report Posted December 6, 2004 Aren't they in Flair country tonight?
tbondrage99 Posted December 6, 2004 Report Posted December 6, 2004 Even if he did do that as long as he made himself #1 contender for the next PPV or the next Raw it wouldnt come off like that at all. But yeah if he dosent get a title shot in one way or another then that would be completely stupid.

I think part of the reason may be for the "Trish vs Lita" match. Anyway, I'm glad Jericho is the last one. Hopefully it's something good for him and hopefully I can finally get my Benoit vs Jericho bout I've been waiting so long for.
Guest Loss Posted December 6, 2004 Report Posted December 6, 2004 It can be argued that Edge is the most interesting character in the main event picture right now, simply because he's going to go completely insane if he isn't given the belt.
Slickster Posted December 6, 2004 Report Posted December 6, 2004 Aren't they in Flair country tonight? Charlotte Coliseum, motherfuckers.

I agree...the look on his face was classic when he first "won" the belt only to have it taken away...
Guest Fook_Theta Posted December 6, 2004 Report Posted December 6, 2004 JR said something to the effect of "We will see a champion crowned tomorrow" on Heat last night. They could keep up the swerve until PPV, and honestly I'm not sure if it wouldn't be a bad idea to end this booking fiasco at the PPV, where they can take more liberties with angles.
Enigma Posted December 6, 2004 Report Posted December 6, 2004 What should go down is Jericho holds the title up tonight and makes a fatal four way between him HHH, Edge and Benoit. And what exactly would be Jericho's motivation to give HHH a World Title shot?

Bob Backlund should come back tonight and say he never did get his rematch..the clause is still active. I'd piss myself. ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN IN THE WWE!
Black Lushus Posted December 6, 2004 Report Posted December 6, 2004 well it's quite feasible someone other than HHH wears the strap only to lose it at the New Years PPV back to HHH, either that or it's held up til then...
JN News Posted December 6, 2004 Report Posted December 6, 2004 I smell the Elimination Chamber at RAW's New Years Revolution. Orton vs. HHH vs. Edge vs. Jericho vs. Benoit vs. Batista
