TNABaddboi 0 Report post Posted December 6, 2004 Here are some TNA notes from Meltzer: --If you didn't get the TNA PPV last night, my advice is to get a replay today --As things are scheduled, the top three matches on the 1/16 TNA PPV are Jeff Jarrett vs. Randy Savage for the NWA title, yet another Ultimate X match for the title with Chris Sabin, A.J. Styles and Petey Williams and new tag champs Bobby Roode & Eric Young defending against Chris Harris & James Storm --Trinity wasn't on the show last night and the six-person tag was made into a tag, with Jacqueline Moore being moved from wrestler to referee because Trinity called the office and said she had a movie role. There are no future plans for her and her name was never once mentioned on the broadcast as they weren't happy with her making that decision after the show was written. Of course, as Randy Savage showed, you can kiss and make up pretty easily. That's a pretty strong recommendation of Turning Point. Alot of people will probably order based only on his advice. As for the Final Resolution matches, I've been calling for it since June, so I'm all for an extended Team Canada/AMW feud, but I really think they need to hold off on putting the belts back on AMW. IMO, this feud needs to play out like the first AMW/XXX feud, which AMW being unable to get the belts due to the numbers and then winning when the odds are evened. I like the 3 way, and I appreciate the continuity of Sabin (should he go over here, which I think he will) regaining the belt he never lost in the same way he won it last time, BUT, do we really need another UX match already. That will make 4 in the past 6 months, which is a gimmick killer in IMO. I think they'd be better off just doing the 3 way, as these guys reputation for good matches is enough to sell the match, w/o the gimmick. And don't get me started on Jarrett/Savage.....all I'll say is that Jarrett should be eating a Pounce at Final Resolution, because though he needs to drop the belt, putting in Savage would be worse than keeping it on Jarrett, just like everyone was saying before the Jarrett/Hardy ladder match. As for Trinity...eh. I have always thought she was miscast as a heel, and unless they were going to bring in China to put her over, I don't think she serves any purpose other than being a manager. And I like Traci better. So anyway, thoughts on this news..... Also, with the rumor that Final Resolution will be the first TNA show in the midwest, any thoughts on how these matches will play? I think they need to do another fan fest if they are hitting a new market, both to help with ticket sales and try to get new fans to care about these guys. Twisted Intestine 0 Report post Posted December 6, 2004 This is just a thought... But maybe Jarrett is purposely booked against worse wrestlers than himself, so that people will be happy when he wins
Zack Malibu 0 Report post Posted December 6, 2004 I'm also guessing we get Watts/Raven/Page in a three way, or something similar. After last night, where are Abyss and Brown off to? Something inside me wants to see Monty Brown vs. Christopher Daniels built up for the PPV.
Corey_Lazarus 0 Report post Posted December 6, 2004 That's also the thing inside that tells you that From Justin To Kelly didn't suck, right?
Zack Malibu 0 Report post Posted December 6, 2004 It didn't suck. You take that back right now, Masshole! And I highly doubt Brown vs. Daniels would suck, since Brown vs. Jarrett kicked ass, and I'm not high on JJ as a worker.

I'm actually pissed that they aren't doing a rematch sooner.

JoeDirt 0 Report post Posted December 7, 2004 Savage in the main event...ughhh For those of you who haven't seen, here's what Savage looks like these days:
Guest LooneyTune Report post Posted December 7, 2004 He doesn't look THAT bad, although he could've at least worn a skin tight shirt instead. Remember in his later WWF days he looked like he weighed 160 lbs.
Guest Salacious Crumb Report post Posted December 7, 2004 No, he should never wear anything that shows his form. What he wore last night was about as inoffensive as it gets with him.
Guest Dynamite Kido Report post Posted December 7, 2004 Savage in the main event...ughhh For those of you who haven't seen, here's what Savage looks like these days: Dude, that's fucking crazy. Of course out of all the shitty shows they put on I supported them. Then, after the one PPV I actually miss........Meltz is going apeshit. GODDAMN IT!!!! Guest netslob Report post Posted December 7, 2004 he looks like James Lipton.

ChrisMWaters 0 Report post Posted December 7, 2004 Savage in the main event...ughhh For those of you who haven't seen, here's what Savage looks like these days: ...he looks about the same size as he did in WWF, to me anyway. And this comes from me watching him on old Royal Rumbles. I thinkeveryone says he looks skinny cause they're comparing him from his later days in WCW. EDIT: Though he does need to trim the beard. Chuck Woolery 0 Report post Posted December 7, 2004 He looks like Rich from the first Survivor if he'd had a thicker beard.
Guest Fook_Theta Report post Posted December 7, 2004 I haven't seen this called yet: Shouldn't the Macho Man be fighting Petey Williams for the X-Division by looking that small? Macho Man is your newest X-Division champion!
gWIL 0 Report post Posted December 7, 2004 Jarrett/Savage? ANOTHER Ultimate X? What are they smoking? And to think I like this company. Brown vs Jarrett 2/3 Falls is the way to go. Jarrett wins the first fall due to interference etc. then Monty comes back to win it with 2 straight falls. I mean jesus christ Jarrett/Savage. I live in the midwest, I WOULD go if it was umm... pretty much anything else.
Guest whitemilesdavis Report post Posted December 7, 2004 The Petey/AJ/Sabin match has the potential to be worth the price of the PPV by itself.
slimm44 0 Report post Posted December 7, 2004 wow, that's some good news coming out of Turning Point Too bad for Trinity, people definitely wanted her to come out during the match. As for Final Resolution, nothing is set in stone yet, so they could do Brown/Jarrett...but the hype has been so great and they had a great match on Impact! I think TNA is doing the right thing by delaying the feud.

They already saw here that Brown and Jarrett work well together and that the fans are ready to accept Brown as championship material, and if they wait to look, they're going to miss the boat entirely with him, kinda like Booker T circa WM19.
