Guest M. Harry Smilac Posted December 9, 2004 Report Posted December 9, 2004 Ppl mark for The Pounce because he has gotten it over in his interviews which Im will give him credit for even though I think he gets by on intensity and cuts warrior like promos.Forreal watching discovery to get some animal terms sounds like something the Warrior would do when he's not just making them up. To me someone using a shoulder tackle as a finisher is about the equivalent of someone doing a sidewalk slam or armdrag as their finisher in this day and age.Their transition moves not finishers. When Goldberg hit the spear it literally looked like it could take you right out of your shoes. When Monty hits the Pounce it looks like he runs up from the side and just pushes a guy down.
Open the Muggy Gate Posted December 9, 2004 Report Posted December 9, 2004 Fans chanting for a move makes it a joke...I've really never heard crowds chant for moves much in WWE so I wasn't aware that was a rule. RKO! RKO! RKO!
Guest Dynamite Kido Posted December 9, 2004 Report Posted December 9, 2004 I voted no, but only for right now. I think that Brown could be something major if TNA continues to push him and hide his weaknesses. But, if they don't do a slow build on putting the title on him.............I don't see it working.
JoeDirt Posted December 9, 2004 Report Posted December 9, 2004 I voted yes...what the fuck does TNA have to lose at this point?
Guest whitemilesdavis Posted December 9, 2004 Report Posted December 9, 2004 Everything. Literally, the whole frigging company.
Guest Dynamite Kido Posted December 9, 2004 Report Posted December 9, 2004 Everything. Literally, the whole frigging company. Honestly, they might lose the company at this point no matter what they do.
AlaskanHero Posted December 9, 2004 Report Posted December 9, 2004 Everything. Literally, the whole frigging company. Honestly, they might lose the company at this point no matter what they do. But if they put it on Brown, they'll at least have a fighting chance. Better to go down fighting with a bang than with a whimper.

Honestly, they might lose the company at this point no matter what they do. True, all the more reason why they should be extremely careful with the one homegrown (potentially)star they have.
Guest BDC Posted December 9, 2004 Report Posted December 9, 2004 Lord I hate Monty Brown. I really do. He may have gotten over. His move may have gotten over. I still hate him. I can't stand his in-ring style, I can't stand his promos and I hate Hate HATE the Pounce. If that's what the company wants to do, then fine, but I really hate the guy. I watch Impact on Fridays because I want to see the stuff TNA does... I'm hoping to GOD they can pull something better than this. Christopher Daniels, IMHO, should have been a world champ, but no. I love AJ, but it'd be a repeat. Take Brown if you want, I can't stand the guy. Unfortunately, I don't have any alternatives.
ChrisMWaters Posted December 9, 2004 Report Posted December 9, 2004 I don't really mind Monty that much. ...I just wonder what the hell is up with him wiping his forehead on the top turnbuckle like he does.
Styles Posted December 10, 2004 Report Posted December 10, 2004 I don't really mind Monty that much. ...I just wonder what the hell is up with him wiping his forehead on the top turnbuckle like he does. He's marking his territorry (at least he doesn't do it like most animals do! ) Also to the poster that suggested Monty needs a 2nd finisher to go along with the Pounce he does, he has The Alpha Bomb. Pounce is just more sudden and explosive when it happens. I'm not getting this whole argument that it is not a realistic move, either. Thinking in the context of "real life" what do you think would be more damaging, someone holding you by your legs and dropping you lightly on your stomach, or wrapping their legs around your head and flipping you on your back or a 260 pound former NFL defensive linebacker charging at you and ramming into your side at full force, no pads?
razazteca Posted December 11, 2004 Report Posted December 11, 2004 If the only move Monty can do is charge people than why not add the old Jim Duggan finisher of the 3 point stance or a Clipping move and the Spear? Is there nobody smart enough to counter the POUNCE with the Raven drop toe takedown onto a chair?
Vyce Posted December 12, 2004 Report Posted December 12, 2004 For what it's worth.....I'm pretty much sold on this guy now. Give him the fucking title already.
