WCW tried a heel Mysterio. It lasted like 2 weeks because no one was buying it.

Yeah, It wouldn't that hard for him. Maybe attach him to Heyman for good measure as well.

RVD will only get solid boos if he denounced Hardcore Wrestling like Mick Foley did with his Anti-Hardcore promos.

despite the fact he hasn't done Hardcore in nearly 2 years.

He'd have to shave off the Pop inducing spots...which would kill his moveset.

If you want heel RVD to get boos, you're going to have to stretch with it. His offense is too flashy for a heel, but without the spots he does he's pretty damn boring and looks uninspired.

I could dig RVD being in Heyman & Assoc. More dubbage, I say!

Well, we can officially write Kurt Angle and Big Show off from being Royal Rumble participants now.

Undertaker and Heidenreich are iffy, as they have done Royal Rumbles in the past where people pulled double duty (92 with Piper, 94 with Bam Bam, Tatanka, and the Hart Brothers, 97 with HHH, Goldust, Vader, Undertaker...98 with Rock, Shamrock, Vader, Goldust...and so on)

Smackdown is now completely DEVOID of stars.

Taker...Heidy...Show...Angle...likely out.

Angle could easily do double duty though. He did for KOTR 2001 where he went ahead and signed to face shane and do the tournament. This wouldn't logically be different and it'd fit his character to do something like that.

in the promos he can go "I'm winning the title, we know that. I haven't won the Rumble though, might as well kill two stones with one bird or whatever the stupid saying is.".

There's still Cena, Eddie, Booker, RVD, Mysterio for the Rumble.

And for RVD, if you go by the reaction that he had tonight, then you could tell that he was a star in those people's eyes.

That is unless of course they foolishly put RVD/Rey in a tag match and leaven them out of the Rumble as well, which with WWE booking is entirely possible.

As for Undertaker/Heidenreich, whoever wins it will likely go on to the Rumble IMO, likely a late number.

Well, yes, that is possible.

And that would mark the first time the Smackdown tag team titls were ever defended at the Royal Rumble.

Both 03 and 04 had the World Tag Team titles defended, both years with the Dudleyz challenging.

They should just have a Eddy+Booker Vs Rey+RVD rematch at Rumble and put them in the rumble as well.

No one has ever competed in a Casket Match and Rumble at the same PPV. More likely than not, the Rumble match goes on last because of some stupid shit, like setting it on fire or something.

Posted
No one has ever competed in a Casket Match and Rumble at the same PPV.

Well, the reason that no one had done that before is because both times, the WWF Title was on the line in the casket match.

No title on the line this time means more of a chance than before for the Casket match participants to compete.

That's never been a set rule. It's unlikely to happen but it wouldn't be too far-fetched to have Angle work the rumble too, mainly just to further his character and potentially open the HBK/Angle WM match set up. (hell, have Jindrak "attacked" and Angle volunteers to take his spot just to "assure that SD has a equal fight in the rumble"). Of course we find out the next show that Angle paid Jindrak off to feign an attack...or better yet it'd work if Angle paid off a non Team Angle 2.0ite like Spike or something to give him his spot.

I just know one thing... Undertaker is almost guranteed to be part of an Interpromotional match at Wrestlemania if my sources are correct (me guessing), and he can't pull doublt duty there.

Guest The Shadow Behind You
Posted

or maybe instead of your deep internal sources, look at the countless WMFB scenarios that basically has Undertaker/Kane Vs Snitsky/Heidenreich in it.

However, Orton Vs Undertaker is the better match to do, since Heyman wants to get rid of 'UT...bring in Orton the legend killer with a Heel turn going after the BIGGEST LEGEND AND HIS BIGGEST LEGANCY?

Guest LooneyTune
Posted

Nah.. they've invested way too much into Orton to do a out-of-nowhere heel turn now. Maybe for Wrestlemania XXII, but it's almost guranteed Orton vs. HHH for XXI.

Guest The Shadow Behind You
Posted

Not really, they could easily do ROCK/Orton which in reality would give Orton a bigger rub then HHH could ever give him.

Posted
They need to get the U.S. Title off Cena is he's going to be in the Rumble.

Or, like I've said a billion times before, they could go the WrestleMania VI route with him.

JBL or whoever is champ playing Hogan.

Cena playing Warrior.

...hell, they had US/IC champ vs. WWE/World Champ for WrestleMania in "Day Of Reckoning", who's to say it wouldn't work?

Posted

But back in the day, the IC Title had value. Guys like Warrior, Rude, Honky, Savage suffered like ONE clean pinfall loss a year...and it was when they passed on the title. It almost represented another division.

The U.S. Title is a shitty backyard-looking title with hubcaps. Why would a self-made millionaire who has been champion for 260 days want it?

Ooooh, then they can have a TOURNAMENT for the U.S. Title! As if that title hasn't been butchered enough.

out of boredom; I made up a little fantasy rumble here.

Heat

Debut Match

Chris Masterpiece Vs Val Venis

Time: 6:17

(Continue to build him via the promos and give him a "high profile" debut on the heat pre-show with a announcement the week before. Give him the good worker of Venis; who'll make him look good)

Match One

Cruiserweight Title

Kidman Vs Funaki ©

Time: 5:23

(A short squash here; Kidman should be the champion. Funaki is getting his godfather token of appreciation but it ends here)

Match Two

World Tag Team Title

Eugene and Regal © Vs Le Resistance

Time: 7:06

(Eugene seems to be out; might as well have him do a injury sell where he tries valiently to wrestle but cant and Le Rez take advantage and Regal throws in the proverbial towel to save Eugene)

Match Three

Woman's Title

Trish Stratus © Vs Victoria

Time: 6:18

(meaningless filler match)

Match Four

World Title Match

Triple H © Vs Randy Orton

Time: 17:27

(In what would have been the Mania main event a few months ago; has been reduced to middle of Rumble ppv status. The story here is that Batistia holds no hatred or frustration for HHH's actions and respects that it was a mistake. Batistia says however; since he's preping for the rumble; he wont be ringside but "hey; you dont need me right? of course you dont. you are the champ...for now". 15 minutes of the usual HHH match where Hebner goes bumpity bump bump. Batistia strolls out and gives the thumbs up to HHH as he sets up Orton for the Batistia Bomb; HHH turns around to taunt...Batistia tosses Orton aside still holding the thumbs up; HHH turns around. THUMBS DOWN. HHH eyes BULGE. Kick Wham Batistia bomb. Orton gets up and stares down Orton but Batistia shrugs him off but Orton wants a piece so Orton goes for the RKO but gets a Batistia bomb as well. Hebner is up. Flair has gone totally berserk here chasing Batistia back and Batistia turns and spooks Flair who flops. Batistia laughs as he leaves. Orton crawls over first for the cover and it's a 2. HHH stumbles up and Orton hits his RKO for the win.)

Match Five

WWE Title

Triple Threat

The Big Show Vs John Bradshaw Layfield© Vs Kurt Angle

Time: 12:36

(It starts off as a Comedy match then it's a usual TT match with a few near falls and saves galore. Finish comes with Jordan clocking TBS with a Chair while Jindrak and Reigns distract the ref, Angle hits a AngleSlam on Show from the middle rope and falls out of the ring and JBL slides over and with one arm pins TBS for the win. Yes I stole the Homicide/Joe/Punk finish here)

Match Six

Casket Match

Undertaker Vs Heidenreich -No Contest

Time: 11:16

(6-8 minute brawl that eventually leads to run-inathon from JBL's group, Angle's group and then Kane and Snitsky come out and it's a four way brawl between the four leading backstage until being split apart from the officials and security)

Match Seven

Royal Rumble

Order of Entry

1. Booker T

2. Christian

(Two who know each other well and are mid-carders for their brands)

3. Daniel Puder

4. Shelton Benjamin (going for Ironman run here)

5. Doug Basham

6. Tajiri

7. Hardcore Holly

8. Eddy Guerrero (Also shooting for the Ironman and cheats like crazy all night long)

9. Rene Dupree

10. Charlie Haas

11. Danny Basham

12. Snitsky

13. Kenzo Suzuki

14. Kane

15. Chavo Guerrero Jr

16. Mark Jindrak

17. John Cena

18. Simon Dean

19. Edge

20. Paul London (as a treat, we get a HBK/London interaction)

21. Chris Benoit

22. Tyson Tomko

23. Matt Hardy (a "surprise return")

24. Shawn Michaels

25. Rhyno

26. Batistia

27. Luther Reigns

28. Chris Jericho

29. Rey Mysterio Jr

30. Muhammad Hassan

Order of Elimination

1. Doug Basham by Booker T

2. Hardcore Holly by Daniel Puder (sold as a mavenesque upset but Puder doesn't dance but merely stands there cocky as hell at Holly)

3. Christian by Eddy Guerrero

4. Booker T by Eddy Guerrero (Accidential elimination)

5. Tajiri by Snitsky

6. Danny Basham by Snitsky

7. Haas by Snitsky

8, Dupree by Snitsky

9. Puder by Snitsky

10. Snitsky by Kane

11. Kane by Snitsky (They brawl again to the back)

12. Suzuki by John Cena

13. Jindrak by John Cena

14. Chavo by Edge

15. Dean by Chris Benoit

16. Tomko by Shawn Michaels

17. Rhyno by Batistia

18. Reigns by Batistia

19. Paul London by Edge

20.Hardy by Edge

21. Mysterio by Edge

22. HBK By Edge

23. Edge by HBK (Once AGAIN HBK's "ego" screwed Edge, because Shawn pulls a Hogan here and Edge makes a strong case for himself by saying he eliminated 5 people)

24. Benjamin by Hassan (setting up their likely Mania showdown and to add to his heat)

25. Hassan by Jericho

26. Batistia by Benoit (HHH and Flair distract leading to Benoit to shove dave over)

(Final 4-Eddy, Benoit, Cena, Jericho. Yes they are all faces...)

27. Jericho by Cena

28. Eddy by Benoit

29. Benoit by Cena (Cena beating the defending winner in a tough fight @ the end adds to the "credibility"

- WWE is running "Royal Rumble Qualifying Matches" on upcoming house shows:

January 14th in Minneapolis, Minnesota - The Hurricane vs. Simon Dean

January 15th in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada - Rene Dupree vs. Paul London

January 16th in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada - The Bashams vs. Hardcore Holly & Charlie Haas

Credit: PWInsider.com

So, I think it's a safe bet that Hurricane and London won't be in the Rumble match. The tag team match is a toss-up, but I'd say Holly & Haas win if only because Holly and Puder have to have some sort of confrontation in the match.

TAMPA, FLORIDA – This past weekend, two more WWE Superstars qualified for the 16th annual Royal Rumble pay-per-view contest in Fresno, California. At WWE live events in Orlando and Jacksonville, Florida, respectively, both Charlie Haas and Booker T also earned the right to enter the 30-man over the top rope battle, bringing the total contestants involved so far to five (SmackDown!’s Daniel Puder and Raw’s Edge and Shelton Benjamin have also been entered).
