LucharesuFan619 0 Report post Posted December 25, 2004 TRIPLE THREAT MATCH AT FINAL RESOLUTION - LAST MAN STANDING TO FACE JARRETT FOR THE NWA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE LATER THAT NIGHT DIAMOND DALLAS PAGE VS. KEVIN NASH VS. THE ALPHA MALE TO DETERMINE #1 CONTENDER Director of Authority Dusty Rhodes dropped a bombshell on Jeff Jarrett on Friday's Impact, announcing that three of TNA's top superstars will compete in a Triple Threat Match at Final Resolution to face the NWA World Heavyweight Champion for the gold later that night on Pay-Per-View! Diamond Dallas Page, The Alpha Male Monty Brown and Kevin Nash will collide on January 16 - with the last superstar standing to face Jarrett in the main event at the epic event! Since returning to TNA, DDP has set his sights on settling a score with Raven. Now, the master of the Diamond Cutter gets a huge opportunity to earn a shot at the NWA World Heavyweight Title at Final Resolution - but he's got to get past "Big Sexy" and "The Alpha Male" to achieve it. The Alpha Male nearly won the NWA World Heavyweight Title prior to Turning Point on Impact against Jarrett - with the champion relying on interference by Scott Hall and Kevin Nash, his guitar and two shots from a steel chair to put down The Alpha Male. The big question now is: Can The Alpha Male overcome the ring skills of DDP and Nash and Pounce his way to a World Title Match at Final Resolution? Then there's "Big Sexy" Kevin Nash - a former World Champion and a member of the Kings of Wrestling with Jarrett and Scott Hall. Will Dusty's decision to put Nash in the bout cause some problems in the Kings of Wrestling camp? Will Nash put his World Title hopes above the Kings, or has Dusty made a mistake in putting Jarrett's right-hand man in the bout to take care of DDP and The Alpha Male? Who will survive the Nash vs. DDP vs. The Alpha Male bout on January 16 to advance to face Jarrett for the World Title that night on Pay-Per-View? Tune in to the epic event live on Pay-Per-View! Twisted Intestine 0 Report post Posted December 25, 2004 If Brown wins clean, and goes on to beat Jarrett clean, I say congrats on the booking. But he won't.
slimm44 0 Report post Posted December 25, 2004 I see interference on DDP and Brown by Watts, Raven and Hall and Jarrett. but I think Brown will win both the elimination match and the championship.
Guest LooneyTune Report post Posted December 25, 2004 IF Brown wins this is 10000% better than whatever they had scheduled for Jarrett vs...(Retches) Savage.

Styles 0 Report post Posted December 25, 2004 Interesting. Don't know what to say about Nash's participation but Brown was the overwhelming favorite in my poll to test who TSM wants to see get the title shot at the PPV, so he will vary likely get that shot and probably the title. This should bode well for buyrates!
Michrome 0 Report post Posted December 25, 2004 Yeah, it should get them at least 25 extra!
I like Forums 0 Report post Posted December 25, 2004 Who ever wins the match. Let's say Monty, Jeff Jarrett will still win his match. JJ will be fresh and his opponent will be tired from their previous match. Its an easy way to prolong another month of JJ holding the title until its undeniable that he cannot go over Monty Brown again no matter how unclean the win is. Guest LooneyTune Report post Posted December 25, 2004 Scott Hall you have to remember, can barely see his prime in the in his rear-view window. His match with A.J. Styles was pretty bad, and if Hall can't have a good match with Styles, who else on the roster can he with?

LucharesuFan619 0 Report post Posted December 25, 2004 Yeah, it should get them at least 25 extra! Man, you really are an asshole. Hall tore the house down with Marty Jannetty at Fusion. Dude, according to those there, it was one of the worst matches ever. He "tore the house down" because people probably wanted to destroy the building after seeing such an atrocity of a "match." Hunter's Torn Quad 0 Report post Posted December 25, 2004 If TNA had faith in Jarrett versus either one of these guys headlining a PPV, they would set the match up beforehand. With them setting it up like they have, it's clear they're counting on the mystery of who will Jarrett have to face to sell the show, rather than a specific match, once again making Jarrett seem above all three, rather than presenting them as equals. Lt. Al Giardello 0 Report post Posted December 25, 2004 If they want the franchise to survive... Put the title on Monty Brown. But I see too many egos in this franchise, so I doubt that will happen.

Actually, I thought you were serious about the Janetty match. Edit: Come to think of it, Hall/Janetty doesn't strike me as house-tearing material. Why did I buy your first comment? Guest Coffey Report post Posted December 25, 2004 Am I a bad person for wanting to see DDP win the title more than Monty Brown?
Guest LooneyTune Report post Posted December 25, 2004 Only if you want Kevin Nash to win the title. Blech... I don't think the world is ready for him to kill another company with a horrible title reign, although TNA is dying anyway.
The Ghost of bps21 0 Report post Posted December 25, 2004 It doesn't make you a bad person... But Monty going through 3 former WCW Champions en route to winning the NWA title is the only option that I can see positive in. Jarrett needs to drop it... Nash needs to stay away from it... DDP I like...but he's had one match in TNA?
Guest Coffey Report post Posted December 25, 2004 I definitely want Jeff Jarrett to drop the title. Hell, I don't think that he should've had it for this long to be perfectly honest. I don't even think that Kevin Nash should be in the damn match. Nor do I think he should get any offense since he has been placed in the match. It seems like Monty should be able to dispose of him quickly and then have to wear down DDP because of his "heart." I agree that DDP hasn't really repaid his dues...however, he has a shelf life. If they're going to use him, they need to pull the trigger quickly. Monty has more of a future than Page does, and it probably wouldn't hurt to build him up more and let him develop his skills a little bit better before throwning the title at him. Page has had title runs before, and granted they weren't great, but at least he has that experience. Besides, it's not like Jarretts reigns were anything special either. Guest LooneyTune Report post Posted December 25, 2004 DDP has name recognition over Monty Brown, but other than that it's fair game I think.
The Ghost of bps21 0 Report post Posted December 25, 2004 The thing is...I don't see Jarrett dropping the title for DDP anyway. It's like the Raven-Styles thing all over again. Jarrett beats the name guy in Raven...but puts over Styles for the title twice. I think Jarrett would drop it to Brown before he Page.
Hunter's Torn Quad 0 Report post Posted December 25, 2004 If Monty doesn't win, how will it make him look when he can't beat a guy who openly admits on TNA's own TV that he is lazy, and a guy who, TNA and recent Indy dates aside, hasn't wrestled in 2 years ? Monty has to win the three-way, in convincing fashion, regardless of whether he's beating Jarrett in the main event.

JJ will be fresh and his opponent will be tired from their previous match. Its an easy way to prolong another month of JJ holding the title until its undeniable that he cannot go over Monty Brown again no matter how unclean the win is. I wouldn't be so sure of this. The typical newsletters are reporting that Jarrett seems to realise that his time as champion is over and that he needs to put over someone else. Looking at the grim side of things there's even an opinion that Jarrett would not want to be champion in the event that the company does die. Anyway, I would say there is a better than usual chance that Jarrett will drop the title.
Lt. Al Giardello 0 Report post Posted December 26, 2004 The only thing I'm worried about Monty Brown getting the title is, what they do with him after he wins the title. I just hope he doesnt suffer from Ultimate Warrior syndrome.
Styles 0 Report post Posted December 26, 2004 The only thing I'm worried about Monty Brown getting the title is, what they do with him after he wins the title. I just hope he doesnt suffer from Ultimate Warrior syndrome. Assuming Brown stays a face I can see a really cool 2 month feud with Christopher Daniels who obviously has what it takes behind the mic and the precence to work a main event feud and the talent to bring good matches out of Brown. He wouldn't win the belt under my scenario but it would at least bring him to main event level in the TNA fans' eyes. I would then put Brown in a transition feud and match with either Truth or Abyss before rekindling Raven's destiny, giving him one last run at the top, have Brown win the first match and then let Raven take the title in the second. That's about 6 months of good feuds and title matches for Brown's reign right there, but of course my ideas and TNA's are likely different...
Michrome 0 Report post Posted December 26, 2004 So we're moving Daniels from meaningless tag worker to main event title challenger just because he was in the cage spectacle main event? Who is Daniels even working at Final Resolution?
