Lightning Flik 0 Report post Posted December 30, 2004 (edited) Homefield advantage, here we come... Meh. Not really dood. You see, even if I lose this week and we tie records wise, I still claim the bye since I've got the tiebreaker. So no, you don't have homefield advantage. I do. Would someone like to tell me what this "homefield advantage" is? It's not like anyone's significantly better than anyone else anyway. It means we get a + advantage to all our picks. Meaning you only need to be within the plus advantage and you still win. Like last year it was +2. So like if you've got Dallas at N.Y. Giants (2.5), the person with homefield advantage actually gets Dallas at N.Y. Giants (4.5). Meaning that if they choose Dallas, they only need to get within 4.5. However, if they choose the Giants, its still 2.5. That's the purpose of homefield advantage during the playoffs. Its why I wanted it desperately.
Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted December 31, 2004 I haven't heard kkk claim that you'd have the homefield advantage tiebreaker at all. And since you play an NFC opponent this week, and you lose and I win, then our overall and conference records would be tied, from what I saw. I think the next tiebreaker would be record against common opponents.

Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted December 31, 2004 So then who owns the tiebreaker against common opponents? The only NFC team I think that's beat me this year is the Bears, I think. I know I also lost to the Titans and Texans, and my other loss was either the Jags or possibly the Lions.
kkktookmybabyaway 0 Report post Posted December 31, 2004 Making me look up records and shit *grumble.* If V-X wins and Flik loses, V-X gets the top seed. They didn't face-off in the regular season, and their Conference records will be tied at 9-3. V-X wins the common opponent tie-breaker 4-1 to 3-2. Bored 0 Report post Posted December 31, 2004 Looking at possible scenerios I'm in almost a must win situation to get a bye week. If I lose to sfajack and CanadianChris wins I'll end up the #3 seed as both will have a better conference record in a three-way tiebreak. So I need to win or have CC lose to get a bye week. Oh, both of us have already clinched a first round bye due to being the top two teams in the NFC (and NFL for that matter), it's just a matter of who ends up #1. Since the playoff system in our league is so wacky, it'd be a matter of pride for me to end up #1 (and thus homefield) after chasing you all season long.
