reign Posted December 31, 2004 Report Posted December 31, 2004 I know that his site doesn't review them anymore(I miss them a great deal) but have there been any recent shoot interviews that are reviewed anywhere else. Has anybody here bought any shoot interviews and are they worth buying even after you ahve read the recaps of them?
Guest KINGOFTHEWORLD Posted December 31, 2004 Report Posted December 31, 2004 Not necessarly current, but I highly recommend Bob Barnett's Shoot w/ the late GREAT "HotStuff" Eddie Gilbert (RIP). I truely believe Bob Barnett set the standard for how current shoots are done, and NOT RF Video!!! Not to mention Eddie Gilbert had one of the greatest mind's for the wrestling business. I personally give it ***** stars!!! I also recommend some of the shoots that Smart Mark Video has done w/ guys like Tracy Smothers, Manny Fernandez, Chris Candido, and former NWA New Jersey promoter Dennis Carluzzo (RIP). They are all truely entertaining shoots! Out of what has come out most recently, I would highly recommend Ring Of Honor's shoot w/ Jim Cornette. In the shoot, Cornette talks about the in & outs of the wrestling profession, and also gives great advice for up & coming wrestlers. Cornette's great wrestling mind comes in only second to Eddie Gilbert's!
LucharesuFan619 Posted December 31, 2004 Report Posted December 31, 2004 Steve Corino, Teddy Hart, New Jack, Terry Funk, and Bret Hart's shoots are all great, IMO.
MikeJordan23 Posted December 31, 2004 Report Posted December 31, 2004 Jim Cornette just annoys me for whatever reason.
Guest LooneyTune Posted December 31, 2004 Report Posted December 31, 2004 Also not recent, but Bobby Heenan's and Marty Jannetty's RF shoots are pretty entertaining. Bobby's is entertaining for his thoughts on his career, and Jannetty's is non-stop stories just about.

Guest LooneyTune Posted January 1, 2005 Report Posted January 1, 2005 I hope I have this right... Jannetty tells a story about when Shawn, The Nasty Boys, and himself broke into a graveyard at night to see Elvis' grave. When they find it, one of the Nasties (I want to say Jerry Saggs) started urinating on it. When asked what he was doing, he said something along the lines of "I'm just giving him some beer, it's just passing through my liver first."
Celtic Jobber Posted January 1, 2005 Report Posted January 1, 2005 I'm pretty sure Elvis and his parents are buried at Graceland, so that story Jannetty told about pissing on Presley's grave is likely bullshit.
Guest LooneyTune Posted January 1, 2005 Report Posted January 1, 2005 It's funny enough for me to believe. Even if it is fake, it's still funny.

Guest LooneyTune Posted January 1, 2005 Report Posted January 1, 2005 I didn't. I bought 1st Generation copies from someone who had them. I've heard about their horrible service... and since I hate RF for being... that kind of person (cough:kidrapist:cough), I will never order from them ever.

Actually, I think I'm a rare example of a happy customer. I haven't ordered much, maybe 5-6 times in 3 years, but every time, the tapes/DVDs have come in no more than two weeks (in some cases a week) and have been of the best quality. I've only ordered shoots though, so I don't know how their other stuff is. As for my suggestions: The Jim Neidhart shoot from RF is great. The first time around, I really didn't like it, but the second time I was laughing out loud. Neidhart is funnier than hell. I've also just order the Mr. Fuji and Powers of Pain shoots. I'll let you guys know how those are.

But you gave money to someone to buy more RF tapes to sell to you. OMG THE CIRCLE IS COMPLETE~!
Guest LooneyTune Posted January 2, 2005 Report Posted January 2, 2005 You're right Mr. Rant (Wow... that sounds sarcastic but not really), (dips head in boiling hot water) (screams like a girl that stubbed her toe) It burns!

Those are the type of shoots I'd like to see. Does Pillman have a shoot interview?
Guest LooneyTune Posted January 2, 2005 Report Posted January 2, 2005 If Pillman did a shoot (I have no clue), it would probably be from when shoot interviews weren't the "in" thing and probably wasn't too good.

natey2k4 Posted January 3, 2005 Report Posted January 3, 2005 Yah Jannetty's is funny as hell. Loved it.
Guest Kimaster1976 Posted January 4, 2005 Report Posted January 4, 2005 For those of you lucky enough to live in England, you would never have to purchase these tapes as there are 2 or 3 of these shoot interviews shown every week on The Wrestling Channel.

Weeellll...isn't that channel going belly up soon? Ha Ha!...but not really...you are the lucky one......seen any good shoots while we're on the topic?
Austin3164life Posted January 5, 2005 Report Posted January 5, 2005 Harley Race's shoot interview (available at highspots) was very interesting, very direct, and brutally honest. I highly recommend this interview.
