MrRant Posted January 7, 2005 Report Posted January 7, 2005 http://www.hopeinamerica.com/ H.O.P.E OFFERS ASHLEE SIMPSON CD TRADE IN H.O.P.E. (Horrified Observers of Pedestrian Entertainment) is offering the good people of America who have been duped into buying Ashlee Simpson's CD a reprieve; the opportunity to turn in her CD for one of a higher entertainment quality. Elvis Costello, The Ramones, X, Jimmy Page and Robert Plant, Aretha Franklin, Mr. Bungle, Ray Charles, Abe Lincoln Story, Neil Hamburger, Joni Mitchell, and Brian Wilson. These are not endorsements of the CDs we are sending. If you receive a CD and it doesn't appeal to you, you are welcome to exchange it until you get one you like. Due to the overwhelming response, and the public's suggestions of other substandard artists for trade, this exchange will continue indefinitely and will be expanded to include other artists who are detrimental to the public's well being. Starting immediately we will also accept any Britney Spears, Jennifer Lopez, Nick Lachey, Jessica Simpson, Creed, Paris Hilton, Limp Bizkit, and any boy band albums for trade. If you're in a city outside NYC or L.A., contact [email protected] or visit www.hopeinamerica.com for an exchange.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted January 7, 2005 Report Posted January 7, 2005 Wait a minute.. Starting immediately we will also accept any Britney Spears, Jennifer Lopez, Nick Lachey, Jessica Simpson, Creed, Paris Hilton, Limp Bizkit, and any boy band albums for trade. When did Paris Hilton start singing?
2GOLD Posted January 7, 2005 Report Posted January 7, 2005 I may not like Jessica's music, but she does have singing talent. It's not earth shattering but it's there. The rest...well ok, they make sense.
Lil' Bitch Posted January 7, 2005 Report Posted January 7, 2005 When she started acting? 2002 in "9 Lives"
Guest Evolution Posted January 7, 2005 Report Posted January 7, 2005 I think it'd be a better idea to find people who are buying Ashlee Simpson's CD and yet have no idea that there is music that is so much better than Ashlee. I don't think there were too many people who were "duped" into buying Ashlee's album. You have to intentionally enjoy that awfulness.
NoCalMike Posted January 7, 2005 Report Posted January 7, 2005 lets not forget Lindsay Lohan just put out a cd.....
Ravenbomb Posted January 7, 2005 Report Posted January 7, 2005 When she started acting? 2002 in "9 Lives" Oh, God, don't remind me of that POS movie
haVoc Posted January 7, 2005 Report Posted January 7, 2005 lets not forget Lindsay Lohan just put out a cd..... And to continue the joke.... Lindsay Lohan Finds Her Inner Rock Chick In New Video Lindsay Lohan borrows a bit from the Oscar-winning 1999 movie "American Beauty" for her next video, "Over." She longs for the mistreated boy next door. Lohan has to be satisfied with finding her inner rock chick instead. Directed by Jake Nava (who also helmed Lohan's "Rumors"), the video follows Lohan as she sneaks peeks at her love interest, played by Drew Fuller ("Charmed"). Walking home, she sees him looking out of a window in his house as his mother sets the table behind him. Then his father comes up to him, and they begin to argue, violently. The curtains close and Lohan continues on to her house, next door to Fuller's, and runs up to her bedroom. Looking out her window, she sees that he is gazing back at her. Inside Lohan's bedroom, we see that she's apparently just out of childhood and starting to experiment with rebellious adolescence. There are Teletubbies and stuffed pandas lying about, but also posters of L7, the Dead Kennedys and the famed New York punk club CBGB — which seem to indicate that she's heading in a new direction, and punk-boyish Fuller, with his black clothes and silver jewelry, may be part of it. Fuller is a destructive person, though — in one scene, we see him destroying his father's car in the family garage. Lohan, on the other hand, just wants to rock out — and we see her doing just that, with her own little garage band. Another young life saved by music. Credit: VH1

cabbageboy Posted January 8, 2005 Report Posted January 8, 2005 I find it amusing that you can trade Ashlee in for a Robert Plant CD....is that really a big singing improvement?
Mole Posted January 8, 2005 Report Posted January 8, 2005 When she started acting? 2002 in "9 Lives" 7th Heaven. EDIT: I thought you were talking about Ashlee.
Slickster Posted January 8, 2005 Report Posted January 8, 2005 When did Paris Hilton start singing? Her album drops this summer, IIRC.
Matt Young Posted January 8, 2005 Report Posted January 8, 2005 I think it'd be a better idea to find people who are buying Ashlee Simpson's CD and yet have no idea that there is music that is so much better than Ashlee. I don't think there were too many people who were "duped" into buying Ashlee's album. You have to intentionally enjoy that awfulness. I obviously enjoy Ashlee Simpson's music, but I recognize that there are a lot of better musicians out there. I don't typically listen to pop music, but there's just something appealing about "Autobiography." I wasn't duped... I was enchanted. However, you must realize that 80% of the people who bought the CD are teenage girls who (A) like girly pop music and the majority of TRL type stuff and (B) either don't like the bands listed above or have no idea who they are in the first place. Speaking of teenage girls, though... I've been trying to think of a way to get revenge on my little sister for stealing and selling my N64 games. Might as well trade in some of her boy band and Britney CDs for The Ramones and Page/Plant.
Slayer Posted January 8, 2005 Report Posted January 8, 2005 She should be at the bottom of a river by now, you pussy
Matt Young Posted January 8, 2005 Report Posted January 8, 2005 You're right. She deserves something like that. But despite the fact that I'd love to cut her into little bits and pieces and feed her to our cats, I'm not usually a violent person, much less toward women- regardless of how skanky, bitchy, and thieving they are.
CheesalaIsGood Posted January 9, 2005 Report Posted January 9, 2005 She should be at the bottom of a river by now, you pussy Wait, his sister or Ashlee Simpson should be at the bottom of the river?
Guest Kid Kablam Posted January 14, 2005 Report Posted January 14, 2005 You know, I have trouble mustering up hate for Ashlee Simpson anymore, because she's really just an innocent victim. You want the source of the problem, look at her pimp ofr a father. Thing is, he's not a particularly good manager, and his little Ashlee experiment will expose him as a hack. Oh well. Such is pop culture.
Slayer Posted January 14, 2005 Report Posted January 14, 2005 She should be at the bottom of a river by now, you pussy Wait, his sister or Ashlee Simpson should be at the bottom of the river? Tough call
nl5xsk1 Posted January 14, 2005 Report Posted January 14, 2005 I'm fully ready to get flamed for this, but ... I'd rather listen to the Ashlee Simpson album than anything by The Ramones, Jimmy Page and Robert Plant, Aretha Franklin, Ray Charles, Abe Lincoln Story, Neil Hamburger, Joni Mitchell, and Brian Wilson. Only the few that I deleted would be preferable to her bubble-gum pop. And, I really can't stress this enough, I - in no way - like Ashlee Simpson or her music. I just dislike the others more.
