Guest Frank_Nabbit Report post Posted January 10, 2005 Ramadi Sharp Shooters Kill 3 US Soldiers, US Uses Small Children As Human Shields Jan 07, 2005 By Muhammad Abu Nasr, Free Arab Voice; Edited by JUS Americans Use Small Children As Human Shields The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam in Ramadi reported that US occupation forces on Thursday morning drove into the western neighborhoods of ar-Ramadi, arresting 32 small children. Local residents told Mafkarat al-Islam that the US troops lured the children from in front of their houses with candy then put them in tanks or armored vehicles and then attacked the al-Bu Farraj Neighborhood and the 17 April Neighborhood to raid and search houses there. The correspondent wrote that the Resistance was in an extremely anguished situation, for they could not attack the Americans out of concern for the children whose relatives appealed to the Resistance not to attack the US column for fear that their children would be killed. US troops stormed into the city at 9am Thursday and were still there when the Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent sent in his report, posted at 12:25pm Mecca time Thursday afternoon. The Americans arrested 12 persons on charges of being with the Resistance, as the children, being held on the tops of the tanks, were reduced to tears in their terror. The Resistance did not dare attack the American column which drove around the city however it wanted, taking advantage of the fighters self-imposed restraint out of consideration of the captive youngsters. One father agreed that the Resistance should attack the American column even if is son, Hudhayfah, aged 3 would die. But the Resistance rejected his offer. Guest Frank_Nabbit Report post Posted January 11, 2005 BTW I figured Current events would s*it all over this and close it, so it went in here...

2GOLD 0 Report post Posted January 11, 2005 It's so absurd that Current Events would have loved it just for some of the responses. It would have been a glorious day. Me, I'm treating it like the joke that it is. Like our soldiers have candy. Now if the story said "war rations and footballs" then maybe I'd believe 1% of it. Guest The Winter Of My Discontent Report post Posted January 11, 2005 And why does everyone just assume this isn't true? Like fuck. Having rules in war is like banning punching from boxing. Its morally disgraceful. And really, are young American boys above such behavior?
Guest Failed Mascot Report post Posted January 11, 2005 It would be better if the US Troops lured the children into an old run down Van like the one on Who's the Boss.
justsoyouknow 0 Report post Posted January 11, 2005 I thought you guys were familiar with jest, but I guess not. Using children is a despicable act. This is clearly not true and doesn't even being to warrant a serious response.

Jingus 0 Report post Posted January 11, 2005 And why does everyone just assume this isn't true? By Muhammad Abu Nasr, Free Arab Voice; Edited by JUS That pretty much sums it up right there. How the hell could this not be fake? I've known a few guys who fought in Iraq, and every single one of them would've rather shot their own commanding officer than kidnapped a bunch of children and strapped them to the top of their vehicle as human shields. Also, when has the possibility of innocents being killed in the crossfire EVER stopped terrorists from attacking?
Red Hot Thumbtack In The Eye 0 Report post Posted January 11, 2005 Well, one could ask the same question as your last one about American troops.
Jingus 0 Report post Posted January 11, 2005 One could ask it, if one had never met an American soldier who was truly committed to his job. I'm not saying that bad decisions are never made and innocents never die; it seems every week we hear of some new fuckup, and that is a shame. But that's VERY different from the terrorists who strap bombs to their own bodies and go out to intentionally murder as many people as they can, not caring if their victims are hardened Marines or newborn babies. Me, I'm treating it like the joke that it is. Like our soldiers have candy. Now if the story said "war rations and footballs" then maybe I'd believe 1% of it. Of course the troops have cnady, why is in inconceivable for them not to? I believe that this incident took place and I also believe that it is a very cunning tactic that obviously works. If however this tactic is used and resistance fighters kill any human shields, the Americans will no doubt receive even further negative press. I'm also not sure how well this tactic is received by the Iraqi people either. This reminds me of British Army patrols in Northern Ireland who keep candy on them to dish out to local kids as they are patrolling - it stopped republicans throwing bricks and stones at the troops. Jingus 0 Report post Posted January 11, 2005 I believe that this incident took place Then you're a fucking idiot. The Pentagon would fucking CRUCIFY anyone they caught doing shit like this. Of course the troops have cnady, why is in inconceivable for them not to? Where the hell would they get it? In the middle of the goddamn desert? It's not like you can just go down to the QuickieMart on your particular street corner and buy a few bags of M&Ms. The soldiers only have whatever food their superiors issue to them, unless they want to risk intestinal infection and buy some from the locals. This reminds me of British Army patrols in Northern Ireland who keep candy on them to dish out to local kids as they are patrolling - it stopped republicans throwing bricks and stones at the troops. So how is handing out candy to kids a bad thing? Especially if they're throwing rocks at you and you want them to stop? Would you rather they had shot the kids instead? And I believe that your a moron. Get your head out of your ass and open your fucking eyes. Look at the source "Muhammad Abu Nasr", somebody who calls the terrorists "Reistance" fighters, so he is somebody who is extremly sympathetic towards the terrorists. You are choosing to beleive it because no matter unconcievable this story is, it fit's with your vision of the american troops, so it must be true in your eyes. Look at this logically, if there was any truth to this story, don't you think it would have been widley reported by the media. This would be Abu Ghirab (sp?) 10 times over, "Troops Using Kids as Shields". There is absolutely no truth in this story, and anybody who believes that it is true is an utter fool

Dr. Tom 0 Report post Posted January 11, 2005 I believe that this incident took place Of course you do, because you want to believe everything that's negative about America, our President, our troops, and the war effort. No thread condemning America for some imagined sin would be complete without the board's resident leftist pincushion contributing the expected response. 2GOLD 0 Report post Posted January 11, 2005 This is exactly why this should have been in Current Events. That response of his is comedy gold. And yes, terrorist wouldn't want to harm children. Why, before every suicide bombing the terrorists make sure no children are in the malls, planes or buildings they decide they want to destroy because killing children is wrong and unacceptable to the sweet hearted soul of a terrorist. They are like Santa Claus in a way with their love for children. The goal of terrorist is no child will be harmed by their hands. I'm quicker to believe we developed a giant turd monster that flings crap or that the bat boy from Weekly World News has joined the war effort than I am to believe this story.
