Guest AndrewisyourHero Report post Posted March 29, 2005 Throughout the fight, there were numerous times where Diego was on his back, and Josh was holding his leg..why didn't he attempt a kneebar or something. I know Diego was on defense and kicking at him, but still..
starvenger 0 Report post Posted March 29, 2005 Funny quote from the SD message board: "Josh dove into the guillotine like it was bastille day. Close my ass." So I gather that the French WILLINGLY put their heads onto a fake guillotine on Bastille Day? I'm not sure who's crazier/dumber - the French or Koschek. And also - gawdammit. Looks like I picked the wrong week to move back to Toronto...
Your Paragon of Virtue 0 Report post Posted March 30, 2005 What are you talking about Starvenger? After last night's episode, I was thinking to myself who in the hell would they match up Koscheck with. I then realized that the only Middleweight left was Sanford, and lo and behold, that match was added: TUF Finale Fight Card Middlweight Final Diego Sanchez vs. Kenny Florian Ken Shamrock vs. Rich Franklin Non-televised preliminary bouts: Josh Koscheck vs. Chris Sanford Chris Leben vs. Jason Thacker Lodune Sincaid vs. Nate Quarry Alex Karalexis vs. Josh Rafferty Okay so we all knew about the other matches, just put it up anyway. I don't know why they aren't showing commercials for the Finale on their show. I mean Shamrock/Franklin should help the ratings jump a little bit. I think Hoger is gonna win guys. I feel it. AboveAverage484 0 Report post Posted March 30, 2005 It's hard to make an opinion of Hoger because I've never seen him fight. Forrest is probably the best fighter of the bunch with Bobby a close second, but that cut is probably gonna cost him the contract. As for MW's, Leben and Sanchez are probably the most well rounded, but Florian took advantage of a situation and advances to the finals.
starvenger 0 Report post Posted March 30, 2005 What are you talking about Starvenger? I moved back to Toronto for marriage-related reasons, but I can't, technically speaking, move in with the fiancee just yet. So I'll be staying at my parents, who don't get Spike. Thus, it'll be all about the BitTorrent for a while, I think...

RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted March 30, 2005 SWEET! Probably up because it was the pre-mania RAW, but still, it was a great fight and next weeks could be even higher!
AmericanDragon 0 Report post Posted March 30, 2005 So I guess Koscheck = ratings.
RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted March 30, 2005 Maybe they just wanted to see Koscheck get the shit kicked out of him, and Diego had a tendancy to kick the shit out of his opponents. If Sam and Josh didn't hate each other, they'd make for a fantastic heel tag team.
Guest Brian Report post Posted March 30, 2005 Why Sam and Josh? They already have Bobby and Josh. The thing I love about good heels is that they always think they are in the right. I've really started noticing that a lot, because I've gone back and watched a ton of wrestling tapes lately.
AmericanDragon 0 Report post Posted March 30, 2005 Maybe they just wanted to see Koscheck get the shit kicked out of him Exactly. He's the reason why the ratings went up.
RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted March 30, 2005 I dunno if people would go out of their way to see Bobby get his ass kicked as they would for Sam and Josh, though.
Guest Brian Report post Posted March 30, 2005 Yeah, but they work so well together. Sam lies, knows he's lying, and I think he knows he's wrong in some regard. Bobby and Josh are both shady, but they believe that being shady is right.
AmericanDragon 0 Report post Posted March 30, 2005 Thacker better beat the shit out of Leben and finish things off with a high kick.
starvenger 0 Report post Posted March 30, 2005 Thacker better beat the shit out of Leben and finish things off with a high kick. Yeah, somehow I don't see that happening. Thacker just doesn't have the experience.

AmericanDragon 0 Report post Posted March 31, 2005 I found this article on Sam from another site. http://www.qctimes.com/internal.php?story_...ws&c=32,1047359 Here's one of the best parts. (about the grill) “The thing with that is, I’d have them come out and turn on the grill, sit out there and grill for a few minutes and then turn it off. I’d go back inside and say, ‘It’s not working. We need to get the grill fixed. I’m serious.’ Then they’d come out and turn it back on,” Hoger said. “I did that four or five times.” Damn, Sam owns.
Exslade ZX 0 Report post Posted April 1, 2005 Okay so we all knew about the other matches, just put it up anyway. I don't know why they aren't showing commercials for the Finale on their show. I mean Shamrock/Franklin should help the ratings jump a little bit. Well, they just did. Great advertising..they just advertised during Smackdown. And made mention of Ken Shamrock fighting, I'm sure that'll bring in a few more fans who wouldn't have watched.
Lei Tong 0 Report post Posted April 5, 2005 Since you are not men of honour, looks like it's up to me to get the ball rolling again... Predictions for the LHW semifinals tonight: Stephan Bonnar def. Mike Swick via TKO, Rd.2 -Though a better striker technically, I can't get the image of Swick crumpling vs. Leben out of mind. I think they'll trade standing, but Bonnar's chin & size advantage will make the difference in this one. Then, of the other two possible LHW matches... Sam Hoger def. Bobby Southworth via Maj.Dec. -Bobby's size & strength advantage will be nullified by Sam's own, while Bobby's hatred for Sam will only get him taken down if he goes in with guns blazing. From there, Sam'll grind away for the JD win. OR Forest Griffin def. Sam Hoger via Unanimous Decision - Sam may be able to put Forest on his back, but Forest knows when to turn it up, and I think Sam will have to defend submission attempts and striking barrages more frequently as the fight goes on. Then again, I'd find it hilarious to see Sam adhere to the Miletich motto of "Just win, baby!" and use every trick in the book to try and open Forest's cut. Youth N Asia 0 Report post Posted April 5, 2005 WHOO HOO!!! They canceled tomorrow morning's truck at work, so this is the first ep I can actually stay up for and not have to tape.

AmericanDragon 0 Report post Posted April 5, 2005 Even though I like Forrest, I hope Sam kicks some ass.
Conspiracy_Victim 0 Report post Posted April 5, 2005 Well if Forrest does get to fight, it's going to be a big ol' bullseye for Sam to aim for. I could see a Florian/Leben ending in there. On the upside, Buh-bye Bobby, go back to whining. At least he's not verbally abusing Dana this time.
Conspiracy_Victim 0 Report post Posted April 5, 2005 Well, Forrest landed more, but Sam hit the bigger shots. Sam seems to be saving himself, picking off Forrest's shots, and looking to land the one BIG shot.
