strummer Posted January 20, 2005 Report Posted January 20, 2005 'Moesha' Actor Dies In Car Wreck Thursday January 20, 2005 7:42am Los Angeles (AP) - A car crash has claimed the life of an actor who had a role in the TV sitcom "Moesha." His manager says Lamont Bentley was killed in a car wreck when his car plunged off the San Diego Freeway in Los Angeles Tuesday night. Susan Ferris tells The Associated Press that Bentley was thrown from the wreckage and was the only person in the vehicle. He was 31 years old. Bentley played Hakeem Campbell, Moesha's longtime friend in the TV sitcom which starred teen pop-star Brandy. In addition, Bentley appeared in a number of films, including "The Wash" and "The Breaks." He also played Tupac Shakur in "Too Legit: The MC Hammer Story." Bentley was a native of Milwaukee and father of two daughters. He began his career in Hollywood after moving to LA with his mother, who was an aspiring singer.
Ripper Posted January 20, 2005 Report Posted January 20, 2005 Damn...thats messed up. I will always remember him as Crazy K in "Tales from the Hood" runnin around in his draws. RIP
Black Lushus Posted January 20, 2005 Report Posted January 20, 2005 that was the same guy? damn i need to pay better attention...
Renegade Posted January 20, 2005 Report Posted January 20, 2005 R.I.P I guess...but Moesha sucked ass.
Ripper Posted January 20, 2005 Report Posted January 20, 2005 R.I.P I guess...but Moesha sucked ass. I would bet you never watched it. ... I mean, yeah, you are right, it was quite good at the ass sucking, but still....i felt the need to be combative.
2GOLD Posted January 20, 2005 Report Posted January 20, 2005 Guy was a pretty decent actor who just happened to get stuck in some bad projects. He was one of the few bright spots in "Tales from the Hood" and "Moesha" (god that show was awful). This sorta reminds me of the time that woman who played Myra on Family Matters died. Too damn young to go the way they did.
Black Lushus Posted January 20, 2005 Report Posted January 20, 2005 yeah, his segment in "Tales" was the only decent spot in that movie...well that and the fact that Corbin Bernsen says "Nigglets"...
Guest LooneyTune Posted January 20, 2005 Report Posted January 20, 2005 Horrible way to die, but the show really sucked. I'm glad my local WB station no longer airs the re-runs.
Black Lushus Posted January 20, 2005 Report Posted January 20, 2005 come on, how can you resist a show starring Miss Forehead herself?
Giuseppe Zangara Posted January 20, 2005 Report Posted January 20, 2005 The broad expanse of Brandy's forehead makes her a perfect candidate for a facial. Can't you imagine your semen dripping down that billboard she has atop her noggin?
Guest Loss Posted January 20, 2005 Report Posted January 20, 2005 I had a heart attack thinking I was about to live in a world without Brandy.
Giuseppe Zangara Posted January 20, 2005 Report Posted January 20, 2005 Same here, though I'm guessing for different reasons.
ant_7000 Posted January 20, 2005 Report Posted January 20, 2005 RIP. I always wondered why Hakeem always had NY accent when they live in LA. He was funny when he would eat Moesha's family food all the damn time.
Vern Gagne Posted January 20, 2005 Report Posted January 20, 2005 He also played Tupac Shakur in "Too Legit: The MC Hammer Story." So many questions. A Hammer movie? Why is Tupac in a movie about Hammer?
ant_7000 Posted January 20, 2005 Report Posted January 20, 2005 ^Thats probably because Hammer joined Death Row records briefly, and that ties into Pac and Suge Knight.
Ted the Poster Posted January 21, 2005 Report Posted January 21, 2005 The broad expanse of Brandy's forehead makes her a perfect candidate for a facial. Can't you imagine your semen dripping down that billboard she has atop her noggin? You could autograph her head.
BUTT Posted January 21, 2005 Report Posted January 21, 2005 He also played Tupac Shakur in "Too Legit: The MC Hammer Story." So many questions. A Hammer movie? Why is Tupac in a movie about Hammer? Ahmed Johnson played Suge Knight.
syxx2001 Posted January 21, 2005 Report Posted January 21, 2005 ant is correct. And this is sad that he died. When I heard I was like "whoa".
treble Posted January 21, 2005 Report Posted January 21, 2005 ant is correct. And this is sad that he died. When I heard I was like "who?".
Shanghai Kid Posted January 21, 2005 Report Posted January 21, 2005 This is going to sound odd, but playing Tupac in a movie is a huge jynx. Anyone remember the VH1 movie that was basically ripping off the story of Biggie/Tupac? Merlin Santana the guy from Steve Harvey played the Tupac role in that movie and he died last year. Now this, I would not want to be the guy casted to play Pac when they make a movie about him.
Sideburnious Posted January 21, 2005 Report Posted January 21, 2005 Shame the guy died. But yeah Moesha sucked, it was even worse than the Parkers (when the spin-off show is better, you know you're in trouble)
