Randy Moss to the Raiders

Recommended Posts

If Moss goes to Oakland I would ask....nay....DEMAND someone make a reality show out of the Raiders. Fuck your "Surreal Life"s and "Real World"s, THAT would get me to watch week after week.

Minnesota would be stupid to make the trade. Burleson is pretty good, and so is Robinson. But they're not nearly the same level as Moss. They need to get a lot more than just Philip Buchanon, maybe a Chris McCalister and a pick.

Vikings:  Friend says Moss is ready to be traded

The News

The 20-year mentor of Randy Moss said Thursday that the Vikings' wide receiver is ready to be traded. "He's not happy there, and I think he wants to go somewhere else," Sam Singleton told the Pioneer Press on Thursday. "He knows he's not going to win anything there." Singleton has known Moss for more than 20 years and coached him as a youth in baseball and football.

Our View

Vikings' head coach Mike Tice placed the "untouchable" label on quarterback Daunte Culpepper during his weekly KFAN radio show on Wednesday, but stopped short of using the same term to describe Moss' status with the team. There will be rumors throughout the offseason that Moss will be traded. At this point, we're not sure whether absentee owner Red McCombs cares enough about the team to approve or reject any trade offers the Vikings get for Moss.

I think trading Randy Moss would be impossible...

His entire signing bonus would hit the Salary cap if traded..I dont know if he is even tradeable.

Especially the deal going to Wash for Arrington, and a 1st rounder. Arrington's contract is huge as well and would cripple Wash financially to trade him under the Salary Cap...

What happens if he holds out next year with a trade demand?

He still would be operating with the current contract. It costs Washington either way.

I mean from Minnesota's point of view. I wouldn't imagine him going to the Redskins anyways. Wouldn't they have to trade him or pay him to sit on his couch?

Oh yeah. If Moss held out, Minnesota will either let him sit on the couch like you said, or they will quickly give in and find the best deal as fast as they could. It could end up being a Portis/Bailey trade or a totally one-sided trade (like that 11 man trade for Herschel Walker)

Maybe they can pay him to sit on Tim Couch.

To think, he's actually more embarrassing then Akili Smith, because he was Number One pick. Sure, he was around longer, but that's because the Browns actually somewhat committed to him. The Bengals were still in the era of being run by a moron when Akili Smith was around.

Moss won't be traded until the team is sold. Red is a better buisnessman that that.

Moss may be headed to Oakland? Are the Raiders still going to get Ricky Williams too? Last I knew, once he was fully reinstated, that was where he wanted to go and where Miami was most likely to ship him.

That would have Moss, Williams and Sapp on the same team. There could be some entertainment value in that.

Why not trade Randy Moss for the Ravens defense?

OWINGS MILLS -- Controversial Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Randy Moss is headed to the trading block, according to ESPN and other outlets.

And those reports speculated that the Ravens would be a potential trading partner along with several other teams.

The Ravens, whose trade for receiver Terrell Owens was nullified last year and remain in the market for a proven wide receiver, aren't allowed to comment on other teams' players because of league tampering rules.

Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis strongly endorsed the possibility of trading for Moss in an interview on ESPN Radio.

Ravens coach Brian Billick coached Moss when he was the Vikings' offensive coordinator.

Trading for Moss would likely cost a first-round draft pick and a starter or possibly a pair of first-round draft picks. Baltimore general manager Ozzie Newsome has said he's opposed to trading his first-round draft pick again, which he did in 2003 to obtain quarterback Kyle Boller .

NO

If they are going to trade, they need to trade up in the draft and get Mike Williams.

There's also no telling how good Mike Williams will be since he's been a year out of football. I don't care if he's been "working out in the meantime", lots of players say that and they're never really in the same kind of shape you'd be while actually on and practicing with the football team.

Atlanta should give up a number one and Peerless Price for him.

Price would work well with a group of good recievers and Moss can overcome tunnel vision that Vick has right now. Make it happen.

How about Priest Holmes straight up for Moss? Moss would give KC the receiver threat they've been lacking, and with Larry Johnson and Derrick Blaylock, they shouldn't miss Priest all that much.

Of course, it does nothing for their defense, but I think it's a little intriguing.

An excellent trade for both teams.

I'd be just as happy with Braylan Edwards, actually. Maybe happier, since he actually played this year.

I'd rather have a talented rookie WR than Moss, actually. Not only will the rookie come cheaper, but he won't have the emotional baggage attached. Though I'd like to see Moss pull a bush-league move like walking off the field during a game when he has to answer to Ray Lewis in the locker room. Matt Birk might get in Moss' face; Ray Lewis would EAT his face for something like that.

No it's not. Minnesota needs to get at least 1 All-Pro caliber defender for Moss. Not a average receiver, and and a draft pick that's like 28th overall.
