Best episode of Raw in months. Not without huge, glaring faults (why bring in Hodge just to embarass him, for example), but on the whole very good with actual wrestling on the show.

Opening six-man was solid, although HBK pissed me off more than usual. Chop chop punch. Punch punch chop. Chop chop superkick. Surprisingly enough, it was Tomko impressing me the most in this match. Nice and explosive moves, energy in the ring, played the monster fine. Crowd was nuclear for Benoit and Jericho getting in the ring. Fun finish. I would not be adverse to a longer rematch.

Tajiri/Viscera was dumb, hopefully they go somewhere with the Tajiri/Regal thing although I doubt they will.

The JR segment was dumb. I hate the "embarass the hometown guy, that'll teach him to be employed with us" routine. And a quick though, why bring in Hodge and not explain to the casual viewers who he is? I'm a hardcore wrestling fan and even I don't know much about him. Why are they bringing in Hodge and just expecting these casuals to know everything when they expect the casuals to be spoonfed everything else?

Batista/La Resistance was a fine squash match, although I question squashing your tag champs in a handicap match. That really made zero sense. Batista remains the man, though.

Kane/Snitsky/Maven was surprisingly decent. Kane and Snitsky selling the injuries is a great thing, and Maven was great in the background. Gotta question why Viscera makes the Rumble while Maven doesn't, though.

Flair/Orton was long and decent. Ref bumps are way overdone, I really don't see why the beatdown and comeback couldn't have been saved for post-match. Not as good as their cage match from October (which I just saw last week and thought was pretty good, actually) but not as bad as it could have been.

Raw sucked. That is all.

I liked Raw. The crap was kept short. Tomko showed he isnt a bag of shit. The pre-rumble stuff was good. Batsita showed some actual depth in his charicter. Sweet Opener, very well booked ME.

RAW was good except for the wrestling. aside from the flair match. The tag match wasn't bad, it's just another generic and boring 6-man tag.

Triple H backstage was great! HAHA "she wants it"

Did anyone else catch it when Biscoff put coach in the Rumble and Coach said "You won't regret this."

And Biscoff said "I already do." BWAHAHHA

Triple H treats women badly! What a bastard!

Will Hassan fly a plane into the Royal Rumble!?

Grenier is awesome. "Hey Eric, I go both ways...tag and single matches." - What a sexy, sexy piece of man meat.

And Batista didn't even use lube with that flag. What was HE thinking!?

Yes, "she wants it" was line of the week. Absolute gold.

I loved Batista's reactions when HHH was telling him what happened.

"Jim Ross? The announcer?"

That was great. Batista is so low key and deadpan in his expressions. Just great.

Alright opener...

About an hour of crap following, with a Batista match thrown in there..

Some more crap.. disregard the Evolution sagments, as I enjoyed most of those (except for the HHH/Flair/Stacy/Orton one). Though HHH was adorable telling Batista about what happened. I like the way they're going with this, making it look like HHH is seeking Batista's approval, and making Batista look like the far superior man/athelete.

Main event was decent. I was expecting alot less from Orton/Flair.

So.. 2 matches worth watching, and skip through to the Evolution sagments.

You know, another reason I'm glad Batista is doing so well is that maybe, finally, the WWE can get rid of its hard on for pushing younger and younger guys so damn fast. I realize the shelf-life of wrestlers is receding...but damn, Randy Orton was just too young for the push he's gotten.

Think about what you are saying. Batista looks great now, but just because he's 36 doesn't mean he's been waiting around to recieve this opportunity in wrestling for 10 years or something. Orton was brought up in the business and may have been wrestling before Batista even fathomed a career in the sport.

I'd venture to say if Orton had been kept heel and allowed to continue the following he was getting (much like Batista has now) he'd have looked a lot more justifiable in the position he is in. I am a fan of his work and effort and he does absolutely NOTHING for me right now, to the point to where I can't stand to watch him try to pull this bogus, paint-by-numbers character off.

That has nothing to do with age.

If you want to play that card, why aren't our smark darlings Jericho and Regal getting a bone thrown at them for thier age?

HHH does not want to play with them at the moment.

It would work better than they did with Orton, but they still have the problem that Orton looks like a douche while Batista looks cool. I don't blame Orton, but wrestling fans probably won't take to him as a face at all. Orton would have to be the heel and HHH the face. I think Orton could be very successful as a heel, but he'll never get over huge as a face.

To each his own, Kahran. Jericho has looked like a douche for a couple of years now with his fading physique and horrible offense. I don't think you'd be clamoring for him to be depushed because he doesn't look the part had they done right with his career/push over the past few years.

Agreed on the Orton as a face comment.

When they showed that clip of Hul..er Hollywoof Hogan and Johnny Carson, I was shocked to see "Hollwood" Hogan actually had hair at one time.

You never saw any old Hogan matches? Or seen him in his Terry Boulder/Golden days at least in pictures?

I'm a bit surprised. Yeah, Hogan was losing his hair big-time in his twenties, which is why he *seems* a lot older than he actually is.

Ramsus pretty much nailed why Orton's character bores me to tears and why I can't put any interest into the title angle. Well, that, and knowing at this point that Orton is probably just filler, and if he's lucky he'll be "that other guy" in a Triple Threat WM main event. Batista's squasheroo looked kind of sloppy, though, and while he's grown on me I still don't feel he's ready for the title. Then again, I was wrong about Brock.

Val Venis looked like, pardon the choice of words, a camel getting humped during the beatdown. Ew. It's rare to see Val doing such a crappy sell job.

Snitsky looked great selling his injury though. Great makeup job IMO, and he sold the injury well. This guy can do just about anything but cut a serious promo and wrestle.

Maven sucks, but yet he's getting...well, don't know if you'd call it a push or not, so let's just say exposure. Yet all I can think about is that M logo that makes me think of Satan's favorite fast food chain.

Maven could have that fat kid who was in Goodburger (most recently Fat Albert) and be an EEEEVIL fast food franchise owner. He could talk about only how he would have the MavNuggets to take on Kane and Snitsky. His burgers, which make Jack in the Box's look like Lean Cuisine, could be shoved into his opponents' mouths after a humiliating loss. His mascot would be a horrifying plastic-headed Maven, complete with eyebrows each a foot long.

This leads to a program with Simon Dean, where Dean creates a shocking documentary on MavBurger's food, leading to a face turn. Money, I tell ya!

Seriously, though, it seems like with a little tweaking, it looks like Maven is reprising the "Big Shot" character Holly used in 99. Which works for him, I guess.

Ouch! He's not Flair or anything.

Fun Raw. Liked the opener. The first Batista/Trips promo was funny, just for Triple H sounding like the high school jock bragging about stuffing 3 geeks in their locker and Batista's comments ("The announcer?" "How old is he?" "110 lb Stacy?").

I'm not happy with Coach and Visera being apart of the Rumble. The Rumble doesn't need another big man.

They, most likely, did something backstage or earlier that day to celebrate JR day in Oklahoma ... and JR & Hodge are likely friendly due to their homestate & career in wrestling, and thus Hodge might want to be there to celebrate with his friend. My guess is that they through him on camera as an afterthought more than brought him in just to embarrass him.

Plus, he got a good pop for going after HHH ... that's got to feel good for an old man. And, HHH & Flair 'beating him up' gave them something to brag about that big Dave would disapprove of.

I don't know about that. IIRC, he really didn't want much to do w/ wrestling. He didn't get into the business until after he went AWOL from whatever branch of the military he was in, so I'd venture a guess both Orton & Batista have been "in the business" for roughly the same amount of time.

Why are they bringing in Hodge and just expecting these casuals to know everything when they expect the casuals to be spoonfed everything else?

They probably figured "HHH beating up an old man" would have sufficed, even if nobody knew who he was.

I will only watch Raw for Batista. Batista, Batista, Batista. Why? I read this house show report from last night in Tulsa and fell in luv.

(7) Batista defeated Chris Jericho. Let me say this, Batista is way over.

The crowd ERUPTED when he came to the ring, and in fact he smiled when he

heard the roar. Y2J got just the same response, so still the crowd is hot.

If you remember the WWE show Confidential, you'll remember the "Sign Guy".

He dressed up as some fitness trainer, not Simon dean, and attempted to flex

towards Batista. Batista flexed back, and not only did the Sign Guy get

showed up, but Batista made the girls in the crowd cheer. Y2J played towards

the Sign Guy and said "What were you thinking?" -The match itself was fairly

decent. I encourage everyone to watch Batista wrestle if they get the

chance. He's definitely going to be big, I wouldn't doubt he's the future of

this company. There were quite a few close 10 counts, but the end came when

Y2J got sit out bombed, is that Batista's finisher name?, twice. Batista won

and the crowd erupted. He was playing towards them huge. He then came down

the entrance side and looked like he was going to get sick. Then he headed

towards my side of the security rail and act like he was going to throw up

on some kid, looked at him, and smiled. Before he went to the back, did his

taunt for the crowd to erupt again. Y2J, got up and left to a standing

ovation from everyone. This was definitely the match of the night.

Help me, Big Dave Batista. You are my only hope.

thats the sign guy who wears a blue wrok shirt and re cap right? yea hes been at A LOT of wwe events over the past few years. on confiedntial he mentioned that his wife died and sicne then hes been going to alot more shows and having fun with the signs. he showed a sign to rhyno on confidential he snuck up on him and asked if he had one for him and he busted out "Rhyno-mite!!!" lol

every big show you find this guy

I guess that makes him the new Vladimir

is wwe comping him tickets?

fav sign of 2004 form him: "Call Mel Gibson, The Undertaker has Risen!" from smackdown aired 3-18-04
