AboveAverage484 Posted January 27, 2005 Report Posted January 27, 2005 Just started really getting into his deeper album stuff and wow, he was a great songwriter and his songs have a very dramatic feel to them. I recently made a CD, which mixes album tracks and hits together: 1. Thunder Road 2. Backstreets 3. Born to Run 4. Jungleland 5. Badlands 6. Racing in the Street 7. Prove It All Night 8. Hungry Heart 9. The River 10. Born in the U.S.A. 11. I'm on Fire 12. Glory Days 13. Dancing in the Dark 14. My Hometown 15. Brilliant Disguise 16. Streets of Philadelphia
Guest PlatinumBoy Posted January 27, 2005 Report Posted January 27, 2005 I'm a big Springsteen fan, my parents like him and my roomate loves him also, so I hear tons Springsteen all the time. Good CD too--though I would have included some stuff from Nebraska and his first two albums--stuff like "Spirit of the Night", "Rosalita", or "Highway Patrolman" for example.
AboveAverage484 Posted January 27, 2005 Author Report Posted January 27, 2005 I've got "Rosalita" on my second CD.
The Ill One Posted January 27, 2005 Report Posted January 27, 2005 Well my parents were young enough to hear Bruce Springsteen in high school and they are both from New Jersey sssooo I may actually be the Boss' illegitimate child. But Bruce has grown on me... my favorite songs- "For You" "Backstreets" (Am I the only one to adore this song?) "Spirit In the Night" "Badlands" "Born to Run" "The River" "Rosalita" "Thunder Road"
DARRYLXWF Posted January 28, 2005 Report Posted January 28, 2005 Not his biggest fan, but Born to Run is a great song. And Born to Run live is even greater.
AboveAverage484 Posted January 28, 2005 Author Report Posted January 28, 2005 "Backstreets" (Am I the only one to adore this song?) Definitely not. That's one of my top four favorite songs by him.
Guest Ransome Posted January 30, 2005 Report Posted January 30, 2005 Apart from the songs listed, I'm partial to 'Atlantic City', and 'Lonesome Day' from his most recent album.
DCMaximo Posted January 30, 2005 Report Posted January 30, 2005 "Atlantic City" is my favourite Boss song by far, although the whole "Nebraska" album is great. Also, the first line of "Hungry Heart" (had a wife and kid in Baltimore, jack/ I went out for a ride and I never came back) is one of my favourite opening lyrics for a song.

Streets of Philadelphia How could you forget No Surrender and The Rising?
Nighthawk Posted January 30, 2005 Report Posted January 30, 2005 I don't get the "wrapped up like a douche" line in "Blinded By the Light".
The Ill One Posted January 30, 2005 Report Posted January 30, 2005 I don't get the "boys in their high heels" line from Sandy. But I never finished listening to that song.
Guest PlatinumBoy Posted January 30, 2005 Report Posted January 30, 2005 I don't get the "wrapped up like a douche" line in "Blinded By the Light". The line actually is "revved up like a deuce". Which makes sense--cars and stuff. The cover had "wrapped up like a deuce". Which doesn't make sense.
1234-5678 Posted January 30, 2005 Report Posted January 30, 2005 "Streets Of Philadelphia" has excellent lyrics. I know I could get into him more, I've just never given him a shot.
C Dubya 04 Posted January 31, 2005 Report Posted January 31, 2005 "show a little faith, there's magic in the night, you ain't a beauty, but hey you're alright" I always thought that that was one of the best lyrics ever from Thunder Road. Also, I second the Atlantic City love. Seeing a Bruce show is always a great time too. They put a lot of energy out there.
Youth N Asia Posted January 31, 2005 Report Posted January 31, 2005 I like Bruce, Born to Run may be the most solid album from start to finish. And I understand what kind of album The Rising is, and all the critics had to love it, but I wasn't feeling it. Although I hate when an artist I like gets so wrapped up in politics and goes on and on about it.
Black Lushus Posted January 31, 2005 Report Posted January 31, 2005 I'm not a huge Bruce fan, but I will give the guy props for not having a very good voice but still being able to sell millions and go down as a music legend...
