"This dude's dad must have kicked his ass when he was a kid."

"Dammit, Pantera, didn't I tell you to mow the lawn?!"

"Pantera, get your ass in there and get me a beer that isn't warm!"

Pantera is a band that doesn't really mean much to me anymore, but I still saw the bastards live like six or seven times, and every time but one was balls-out awesome.

Ozzfest when I was seventeen, and yes, he was likely quite strung out.

Oh, and

Pantera was a good gateway band. You went to one of their concerts knowing little about Metal, but by the time you exited, you had a bunch of new bands you heard about from others to go check out.

I think I was 15 when I saw them, and at the time they were probably the heaviest music I listened to, this was back in 1995. They brought me to Slayer, and the rest was history!!!!

Pantera is probably the best gateway metal band I've ever heard of. Dime was, no matter how cliche it is to say this now, an amazing guitarist, and Phil's voice is pretty much one of a kind. But listening to the full albums of both Great Southern Trendkill and Reinventing the Steel is such a chore, since both have a few good songs (which also happened to be singles) but mostly kinda filler.

Didn't Phil Anselmo have something to do with Soilent Green's Sewn Mouth Secrets and Eyehategod's Dopesick? I know the whole New Orleans scene is incestuous, so just a question.

Headlined by Slayer & Cannibal Corpse.......................and Marylin Manson

Lots of kickass bands going to be there. This thing sounds like it is going to be as big ass Ozzfest(As far as the size of venue, and number of bands), just with a better overall lineup!!!

It comes to Sacramento July 10th...I am soooo fucking there!!!

Odds that he'll be killed by an angry fan probably not few and far between.

At the moment, I'm really liking Obscura's Cosmogenesis at the moment, though Blut Aus Nord and Fen's new albums are the best metal albums of the year so far.

Edit: Now that I think about it, Cosmogenesis is the best metal album of the year thus far.
