BifEverchad Posted February 4, 2005 Report Posted February 4, 2005 Does anybody know the release date of the new Tool album? Thx
Your Paragon of Virtue Posted February 4, 2005 Report Posted February 4, 2005 I don't know, but in searching over the net, I had one of those weird things wheere you see a word over and over and it just looks weird to you. Tool makes no sense in relation to the band, at least on the surface, TOOL. Weird, it'll be awhile before I can look at that word again normally. I learned that the Chili Peppers are also releasing a new album in 2005, this is not what you were looking for but I found it so you might be interested.
Dr. Tyler; Captain America Posted February 4, 2005 Report Posted February 4, 2005 I don't think they're even recording right now.
Edwin MacPhisto Posted February 4, 2005 Report Posted February 4, 2005 Way to give me a brief erection and then force it to subside with your fake-out title.
Spaceman Spiff Posted February 4, 2005 Report Posted February 4, 2005 For the handful of those who care, Pearl Jam should have an album out this year, followed by a tour.
Your Paragon of Virtue Posted February 4, 2005 Report Posted February 4, 2005 Well it's something that's being discussed elsewhere, so it's not like he's the only one who thinks they have a new album. You should see some of the stuff being discussed.
Red Baron Posted February 4, 2005 Report Posted February 4, 2005 Last time I heard, Adam Jones had no interest writing new material yet, and Maynard wants to still do some stuff with A Perfect Circle.
swan Posted February 4, 2005 Report Posted February 4, 2005 Incorrect. A Perfect Circle is now on hiatus. One of the many newsbits on the net: Launch Radio Networks is reporting that singer Maynard James Keenan has gone back to TOOL, bassist Jeordie White has joined the touring lineup of NINE INCH NAILS, and now A PERFECT CIRCLE drummer Josh Freese has found something to do while APC is on hiatus. Freese will sit behind the kit for former POLICE singer and bassist Sting, who's getting back to his roots with a four-piece rock band that hits the road in early April. Freese told Reuters, "I'm a little bit more on the rock side of things than on the sophisticated jazz-pop side of things. But I'm not going to go out and be overpowering — if anything I'll tone it down a bit at first so I don't freak anybody out." http://www.roadrunnerrecords.com/blabbermo...ewsitemID=32000
Red Baron Posted February 5, 2005 Report Posted February 5, 2005 like I said last time I heard. Which was summer of last year.
Vyce Posted February 5, 2005 Report Posted February 5, 2005 I need a new Tool album to sort of erase the bad taste of APC's last album out of my mouth. And no, I'm most definitely NOT talking about "The Thirteenth Step." The real question is when will Trent Reznor every get off his ass and give us the Tapeworm album that's been rumored / promised for YEARS now?
cameron chaos Posted February 5, 2005 Report Posted February 5, 2005 Never. Tapeworm's been scrapped since schedules clashed too frequently.
Guest Vitamin X Posted February 5, 2005 Report Posted February 5, 2005 I need a new Tool album to sort of erase the bad taste of APC's last album out of my mouth. And no, I'm most definitely NOT talking about "The Thirteenth Step." Yeah eMOTIVE was pretty underwhelming, although the "Imagine" cover was great. I was kind pissed at them remixing "Pet" on it either and giving it another name (which was "Counting Bodies like Sheep to the Rhythm of the War Drums"). And fuck you threadmaker for the deceving thread title and subtitle. Fucking cunt.
Sonic Reducer Posted February 5, 2005 Report Posted February 5, 2005 Pearl Jam is recording and will be starting a nine month world tour in the summer. Tool is recording, their album should hopefully be out by the fall, followed by a tour. APC is on hiatus, but will return.
BifEverchad Posted February 6, 2005 Author Report Posted February 6, 2005 I need a new Tool album to sort of erase the bad taste of APC's last album out of my mouth. And no, I'm most definitely NOT talking about "The Thirteenth Step." And fuck you threadmaker for the deceving thread title and subtitle. Fucking cunt. lol I love you random fucks that get the slightest joy out of a thread title.
Dr. Tyler; Captain America Posted February 6, 2005 Report Posted February 6, 2005 "Passive" off of eMOTIVe was great, however.
B. Brian Brunzell Posted February 6, 2005 Report Posted February 6, 2005 For the handful of those who care, Pearl Jam should have an album out this year, followed by a tour. And I'll be first in line to buy said new Pearl Jam album. But I'd really prefer a new Tool disc.
Neil-o-Mac Posted February 6, 2005 Report Posted February 6, 2005 I believe Tool are in the writing/recording process for a new album; Robert Fripp was over working with Adam Jones (and presumably the rest of Tool given the timing of it) not too long ago and wrote about it on his site, and I seem to remember reading an online article somewhere that detailed someone visiting Tool's rehersal space (or recording studio) and hearing some of the new material...It's probably not being heavily publicised yet so they can drop it on an 'unsuspecting' general public out of nowhere.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted February 6, 2005 Report Posted February 6, 2005 Hopefully he was over there to record an entire album's worth of great guitar lines in one take.

I read that as well, Blair from Toolband.com I believe, it was. Pearl Jam's going to be embarking on a nine month world tour which will start in the summer, according to their manager Kelly Curtis.
