Am I the only one that finds the movie Stand by Me to be homoerotic?

Also, Jerry O'Connel in this film reminds me of IDRM in physical terms.

The videotape I saw of Stand By Me was somewhat messed up, so I saw it in black and white. Looked really good, actually, and I always thought that's how it was until a few years ago.

Sometimes shitty quality improves the movie, I've found. I saw a terrible burn of The Incredibles, and the picture was dark and grainy, like the old Batman cartoon. It made the movie a lot more fun for some reason. We had to watch Stand By Me in Psychology for some reason. All it did was make me sad that River Phoenix died before he could do anything really great.

Another question: why is it that some people on this board are so hardup on grammar? So far I've seen bigolsmitty make a reference to a "comma superstar", complete with a link to a page about the appropriate usage of commas, then in the WWE folder someone quoted an entire post, must have been 15 lines long, just to say "you used 8 semicolons, and none of them are grammatically correct". Are people this petty?

The only time I bother pointing out someone's spelling/grammar mistakes is if they're bitching at someone else for being stupid. If you're gonna call someone else an idoit, at least spell the word right.

Your commas & periods go inside your ending quotation marks. Also, 2 spaces after ending punctuation.

;)

I'm more like Keifer Sutherland in this movie. I've been told that before. He was kinda sexy there, but not as much as in the Lost Boys. He reminds me of me a little bit there too. But never in any other role he's played.

Most publications insist their writers do away with the two spaces after the period, leaving only one.

Inc is such an English major.

Although I was going to point out the one space thing as well. My English teachers have been trying to beat into our heads to do the two space thing for works cited pages, and are also trying to cram it in our essays as well. Fuckers.

No, just dumb. I could understand pointing out mistakes in extreme cases, but 99.9 percent of the "you're grammar is the suq" references that take place here are just lame...

It's spelled s-u-c-k, duh...

I habitually use the two spaces after ending punctuation in everything I write. I'm pretty sure HTML eliminates "extraneous" spaces and just renders one space, which forces you to use the no-break space code to insert additional ones. This board might do it, too; I've actually never bothered to check.

I was brought up with two spaces, but whenever I write an actual article or something that's going to be published, I go through and do Find--Replace from two spaces to one. Copy editors appreciate it bigtime, apparently.
