How many times did RVD and Benoit even work each other? I think it should apply to set of wrestlers who worked each other one more then a few occasions.

Austin and Jericho is the first one that came to my mind; as does Triple H and Kurt Angle.

Jericho and Kane did pull of a really good match in September of 2002 where Kane defeated him for the IC title. They never really got enough credit for it at all, but that was one of Kane's best two or three matches, if not his very best.

My answer to this question would probably be the Rock & Roll Express and the Rick Rude/Manny Fernandez tag team. On paper, there's no reason to think they'd have bad matches on a regular basis, even if they weren't going to steal the show, but they had absolutely no chemistry whatsoever, and the NWA pushed the feud for months anyway. Thank God Rude jumped to the WWF, calling for a quick finish.

Sting and Lex Luger. For two good buddies, they couldn't work a good match with each other to save their lives.

On the indy scene, Alex Shelley and Petey Williams are two very good workers, but the matches I've seen that they've had against each other haven't been very good at all.

In more mainstream, DDP and Curt Hennig were two solid workers who had boring as hell matches in WCW. Granted, Hennig was on the downswing in his career, but still.

Steve Austin and Undertaker never had a great match against each other (though you could argue Summerslam 1998 I suppose). Their Backlash 2002 match was especially horrible. The Buried Alive match was really bad too.

Summerslam 98 was very good, in the ***-ish range, which I guess can be "great" on a scale for them.

Jericho and Perry Saturn. Their matches NEVER came close to clicking.

I always thought the story lines were decent for their matches, but after OTE there wasn't much they could bring to the table in the ring against each other due to injuries and such

Rock and Mankind had some piss-poor matches I wonder how much better that series would have been if Mick had played the "Cactus Jack" persona, would Mick had been able to show ANY sign of offense?

The Hardyz. I know that Jeff can't work, but CMON. You guys are brothers!

Bret Hart and Sting never had a decent match together. Don't know why, as Sting was still having watchable bouts with other people at that point, but Bret just never got anything out of him.

I second the nod for Angle and HHH, they just never clicked, their matches were below par for both men.

RVD vs. Austin, Angle, Rock, HHH, or damn near any other main eventer. Shit, Rob had better matches with Undertaker than most of the other top guys.

Piper vs. damn near anyone. Roddy worked a weird brawling hybrid style, but few people knew how to react to it or have a really good match with him, especially once he got older and slower.

HHH vs. Kane: they've wrestled a billion times thru the years, and it just never works.

I don't remember Rob really having too many matches with Austin, other than that one during the Alliance where Austin said Rob was Kurt Angle for the night.

Did RVD ever fight Angle? During the Alliance maybe? Can't really remember. Same with the Rock, to be honest. Judging from their match at Unforgiven '02, I'd agree with the HHH assessment, although I remember them having a fun TV match right after Kane got unmasked. Not nearly as good as their Unforgiven match was bad, but it certainly was an improvement.

I have a theory on why RVD has had good matches with Undertaker. It's like why HBK gets enjoyable matches out of him. Rob acts like a pinball, takes all of Taker's good moves and makes his brawling look badass. I remember loving that one hardcore match at Vengence '01 (?).

For water and oil, I have a strange one: Brock and Angle. Those two, to tell the truth, bore me when their wrestling. Maybe it's because it was built as this huge match that'll be the best match ever, blah blah blah. I've never wanted to actively look for their matches and watch it for a second viewing.

Hennig/Michaels weren't clicking at all during their SS 93 match. It's only one match, sure, but they hyped the hell out of that match.

That's all I got.

True --- but their house show matches DID rock. Hard.

RVD and Angle I know had a quick match the night of the Draft Lottery. Angle baited Vince into giving him the match by saying he wanted to bring the IC Title to SD.

Other than that, nothing I can remember of note in 1-on-1 matches.

Didn't RVD and Angle have a program in late 2001 where Angle's wife even felt the need to complain about rvd's stiffness in the ring?

Hmm... I really don't remember them on TV during the Alliance, but I'm pretty sure they've wrestled on house shows...

Wait, Angles WIFE held down RVD? Now that has to be a new one.

Angle and RVD had at least two or three singles matches during Invasion, I remember that specifically because Kurt got busted open hardway by Rob's kicks in both their first two matches, and Kurt said something in a media interview about how he was kinda pissed about it.

I also remember a match before No Mercy 2001 that Austin interfered in.

Hey, yeah, I think he was supposed to have german suplexed him for real in retaliation.

For some reason, save for their unforgiven 2001 match, jericho and rvd never really clicked together in the ring.

RVD has a hard time clicking with almost everyone in WWE. His best matches were with Eddie Guerrero in 2002.

They had a very good match at KOTR 2002....

This is the match that caused Jericho to throw a temper tantrum and stop updating his official website for a year or so.

Regal too has one of those styles only certain people can work with. His Edge feud especially was hard to get into.
