starvenger 0 Report post Posted February 19, 2005 Looney Tunes also suffers from SNL Syndrome, hardcore cartoon smarks will never accept anything other than the 40's-60's shorts so anything else but the originals will suck. Probably true, because we don't get to see the really bad ones. But when they were good, they were great, and it really is a tough standard to be compared against. Couldn't they just revive Animaniacs? And why did they feel the need to sentai colour the characters?
DerangedHermit 0 Report post Posted February 19, 2005 A guy on DVDVR made the perfect comparison. This is completely the same as Poochie. Scratchy: Ooh, Poochie is one outrageous dude. Itchy: He's totally in my face. At least Poochie died on the way back to his home planet.
Slayer 0 Report post Posted February 19, 2005 "This is a kids show intended for kids today who are growing up in the Internet age, an age of technology, an age of hip, cool animation, and something that we hope will resonate with that age group," explained Sander Schwartz, president of Warner Bros. Animation I thought this kind of talk only existed in satiric hyperbole
Nighthawk 0 Report post Posted February 19, 2005 Come on you guys, it's not like they're burning the negatives of the old cartoons to make these. Isn't this better than trying to recreate those, because they really can't? At least this can be funny in a campy sort of way.

The Amazing Rando 0 Report post Posted February 19, 2005 Like he can fit anything into those tiny red shorts anyway. Hell, most of the people who where the costumes in the theme parks are girls just because they fit the height requirements. On the other hand, taller characters like the Queen of Hearts are male. The Amazing Rando 0 Report post Posted February 19, 2005 Donald never wore pants cause he was a sexual freak. Always wore a towel when coming out of the shower though. Goofy was/is on smack. Huey, Dewey, and Louie...well, I can't even explain them. Then again, I can't explain April, May, and June either (Minnie's neices) Yeesh...there goes my disney trivia switch. Slayer 0 Report post Posted February 19, 2005 That was kind of funny how they were using not-so-subtle similar names for the characters, so I guess in that sense it's not so offensive. The potential watchability of the series remains to be seen though. On the other hand, what's the deal with trying to revive "Lola" anyway? Like Bugs said in Back in Action, "I don't need no female co-star."
ChrisMWaters 0 Report post Posted February 19, 2005 On the other hand, what's the deal with trying to revive "Lola" anyway? Like Bugs said in Back in Action, "I don't need no female co-star." Well, Lola's been in Baby Looney Tunes from what I've seen...and I guess they needed at least ONE female member of the team without having to resort to using the non-talking cat that Pepe LePew always chased around. Guest El Satanico Report post Posted February 19, 2005 Isn't this better than trying to recreate those, because they really can't? He makes a good point. They may have gone too far with the "edgy futuristic" aspect on the re-designs, but something completly new is still better than "new" versions of the classics with different voices.
