It could be Patty cause Marge went to the church and told the preacher if someone wants to be married then they should be regardless of gender. Its going to be an hour long for anyone who might miss it on purpose and feel like checking out the end.

Last weeks Simpsons with Bart sneaking off to the rap concert and faking his own kidnapping had me laughing for half and groaning at other parts - but overall I thought it was a great episode. I'll be watching tonight.

I agree, last weeks episode was pretty good overall. In a few scenes, it even had glimpses of when the Simpsons was really on the top of their game.

I still say that the "gay" character will not be Patty, but instead someone totally out of left field.

Krusty the Clown.

Patty, Moe, Lenny and Carl and Burns were shown to much, Patty's too obvious.

Although Krusty already fills the Jew quoteint, so maybe not Krusty but Barney, which would really add a new dimension to his character.

It's going to be the annoying guy that goes "yeeeeeees", since they wouldn't dare make it a character anyone cares about... or Patty.

Homer joins an online ministry and has the authority to perform weddings  - starting with Patty's now-legal-in-Springfield marriage to a female golf professional.

What a surprise. I think learning that Hitler was evil was more surprising than this.

Other then Homer kissing himself in his imagination, this episode really, really sucked. I only laughed once, and the whole thing felt...forced.. Well, it's humor felt forced, which is sadly, what the Simpsons has become-a few worthy jokes (i.e. "I'm turning this Disco into a Hokey Ring!", "You mean "Honkey" Ring") and a bunch of forced, un-amusing jokes. Besides, none of it was too suprising (Look, Lisa reccomends gay marriage! Wow, them Reverend is against it! Gasp, they made another rip at Fox, I've only heard that countless times before!)

Also, it's probably just me, but Lisa has become incredibly annoying and predictable

Oh, and I thought Barney was off of beer

And meanwhile, Arrested Developement's future seems dim, while the Simpsons pulls off one of their most forced episodes ever

The Homer kissing himself imagination sequence was too stupid... even Homer isn't that fucking dumb. I haven't watched the Simpsons in three years, and this episode will probably add on another 3 (if the show never fucking dies!)

So, you quit watching the Simpsons about the time you last changed your sig? :P

(Comic Book Guy) I believe the appropriate spelling in this situation would be "G-H-E-Y," actually. (/CBG)

I like the people who complain about it yet still watch it. "Why won't this show die?!"...maybe because you keep supplying it with ratings. Just stop watching. I did.

Heh, I stopped watching it, but I checked this one out to see how bad it was.

Plus, those of us without Neilson boxes make no impact.

There are two systems of ratings. Neilson and the ones that Cable Packages take.

It had the potential to be funny, shocking and socially and politically relevant, and it was none of those things. Color me disappointed.

The fact they even did a cop out ending where the wedding didn't happen kinda ruins it as well. It wasn't bad enough the Simpsons did an episode based on a situation that happend last year, but fucked it up too.

Maybe they should've aired this in November, when Gay marriage was still being discussed in some states.
