My Friend commited Suicide

Recommended Posts

My Friend commited suicide saturday night and I only found out a couple of hours ago. It completely shocked me as he was always up for fun and never even seemed depressed in the slightest.

I met up with all my other friends and we just hung out for a while, talked and then went for a walk before returning to one of the friends house where my friends got drunk and we all reminised.

I'm sorry for putting up something as morbid as this up on the board but it's just really taken me by surprise and I guess in a way I wanted to vent it or see if anyone else went through anything similar. The whole thing is just really surreal and hasn't sunk in completely yet.

Did he leave a note? Its pretty rude not to leave a note explaining why you did it.

Rude because people will blame themselves for it happening in some cases when it wasn't their fault. If I ever committed suicide I'd leave a note.

I'd like my note to be so brief, so long and rambling or just a total non sequitur so that either way doesn't really explain anything. Maybe put them through a fun scavenger hunt in order to lighten the mood, only for it to end up being right there in my desk drawer.

SB, your friend didn't happen to live in TN or GA, or visited either one recently, did he? Cuz if I happened to pass by the poor bastard on the sidewalk and it had my usual effect on lifeforms, well, I'd feel pretty guilty.

On a serious note, I had a friend die recently in what was probably an unintentional suicide, so yeah I know how you feel, and I'm sorry.

Unintentional suicide? How does that work? Was he going to kill himself by hanging, but realized he had too much to live for and decided to step down...thereby hanging himself? I must know.

He could've mistaken barbituates for mints. I guess.

Or jumped out of a moving vehicle, hit their head, and received massive head trauma so that they're on life support for a few days before their parents - who were driving them - pull the plug.

RIP Tina

If real, this would have been better off posted in GC.

My exact thought.

I had a friend OD, and if I posted about it in here, it would be up for ridicule that I wouldn't be prepared to deal with.

Wrong folder, cuz.

ODing is just ODing. There's no such thing as "Unintentional Suicide" as Suicide is killing oneself on purpose.

I know somewhat how you feel. A friend of mine has tried to kill herself over a dozen times. She seems to be in a somewhat stable relationship now, so I'm hoping she won't try again.

I'd never hire her. If she can't off herself in that many attempts then I can't see her doing much correctly.
