Art Sandusky Posted June 6, 2005 Report Posted June 6, 2005 I dunno, the whole "it's funny because it's old nostalgic fanboy crap" thing is starting to wear off with me. During the COBRA segment I was asking aloud "can we PLEASE drop GI Joe for a while?" As a punishment for me, there'll be another Transformers thing next week.
Guest Vitamin X Posted June 6, 2005 Report Posted June 6, 2005 Bloopers was incredibly stupid, and I agree with Kotz on the nostalgic fanboy thing. They've certainly done a lot better, although as always there are great moments- I love the continuity of the dishwasher-humping robot going to get a 10-minute oil change, and I liked the Ray's Day Out and God kills kid skits. The rest was sort of meh.
Boner Kawanger Posted June 27, 2005 Report Posted June 27, 2005 Bumping for the Scooby Doo/Friday the 13th crossover with guest stars Don Knotts and Phyllis Diller, which has become my favorite Robot Chicken bit. If anyone missed it last night, I'd say it would be worth seeing this Thursday when it repeats.
AndrewTS Posted June 27, 2005 Report Posted June 27, 2005 Credit to them for not throwing in Scrappy just as an excuse to kill him. I guess CN didn't want them to show Scooby getting killed, though.
Gary Floyd Posted July 4, 2005 Author Report Posted July 4, 2005 The most recent episode gets 4 out of 4 cereal icons selling sugar. Best episode in a while. Highlights -Cereal Icons as Sugar Dealers -Guy pissing in a hot dog stand -"Akira: The Opera" (best part, IMO) -Alien Dates Predator -Donkey Kong Meets Halo -Wimpy's Horrible Life -Frogger Wreck -Robot Surgeon -"Never say Oy!"
Exslade ZX Posted July 4, 2005 Report Posted July 4, 2005 The Donkey Kong/Halo thing made me cry. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Of laughter I hope.
Guest Mosaicv2 Posted July 5, 2005 Report Posted July 5, 2005 This show sounds cool to me but I haven't seen it yet at all or anywhere on cable... can anybody tell me where I can find it>?
tekcop Posted July 5, 2005 Report Posted July 5, 2005 The Donkey Kong/Halo thing made me cry. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Of laughter I hope. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well... yeah, but they killed Mario.
Guest Vitamin X Posted July 5, 2005 Report Posted July 5, 2005 Something I'm sure we've NEVER done... I personally liked how they jacked his hammer, and especially how they killed Donkey Kong. That was one of the better, more innovative skits Robot Chicken's done. This was a great episode, minus the popular cereal characters as drug overlords thing. That was one of those kinds of joke that was a little funny to begin with, then just got more and more played out and stupid the longer it dragged on.
tekcop Posted July 5, 2005 Report Posted July 5, 2005 Something I'm sure we've NEVER done... Yeah, but never so violently. Plus, it was like the new school beating the old school. That's just not right. This was a great episode, minus the popular cereal characters as drug overlords thing. That was one of those kinds of joke that was a little funny to begin with, then just got more and more played out and stupid the longer it dragged on. The longer skits have almost all been like that. They're cute at first but they just keep going and going. I found the A-Team one from a few weeks back painfully bad.
Guest Vitamin X Posted July 5, 2005 Report Posted July 5, 2005 Then I think we can agree that the best Robot Chicken skits are the ones that don't last longer than a minute or two.
Jericholic82 Posted July 8, 2005 Report Posted July 8, 2005 I keep meaning to catch this show but alwys forget when its on. from what you descirbed, it sounds great.
Art Sandusky Posted July 11, 2005 Report Posted July 11, 2005 Man, I thought the board woulda gone nuts for another round with horror movie villains.
Big McLargeHuge Posted July 11, 2005 Report Posted July 11, 2005 This show just gets worse and worse. The first few eps were fun and different. Now, you can see the jokes coming from a mile away. And some skits just don't do anything, and as others have stated, last too long for their own good.
Placebo Effect Posted July 11, 2005 Report Posted July 11, 2005 Not as good as last weeks, but still fun as hell. The horror villain skit was great.
Guest JMA Posted July 11, 2005 Report Posted July 11, 2005 This show just gets worse and worse. The first few eps were fun and different. Now, you can see the jokes coming from a mile away. And some skits just don't do anything, and as others have stated, last too long for their own good. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I disagree. I've liked pretty much every episode so far.
SuperJerk Posted July 11, 2005 Report Posted July 11, 2005 Lex Luthor, Skeletor, Mumm-Ra, and Cobra Commander need their own show NOW. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Indeed.
Gary Floyd Posted July 11, 2005 Author Report Posted July 11, 2005 Not as good as last weeks, but still fun as hell. The horror villain skit was great. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Agreed, not as good as last week. I thought the best part was "What if Batman was a Monkey"
Gary Floyd Posted July 18, 2005 Author Report Posted July 18, 2005 Well, that was the last "Robot Chicken" of the Season. Fortunately, we get new episodes of "Harvey Birdman" next week. Anyways, expect a new RC season Sring of next year. Also in an undated part of next year, new episodes of "The Venture Brothers". Best moments -The worlds greatest fart joke ever (Best part of the show, IMO) -Ass Pirates of the Carribean -Expired Milk -Food fight in the Last Supper -NRA Kids Club -You Can't Do that on Robot Chicken (great YCDTOTV parody/tribute) -Space Guys Order Pizza -Air Force One Stolen-by Bill Clinton and Snoop Dog -Beach Bully -Dog and Kitty Love Worst -Napolean Dynamite parody (I am getting sick and tired of hearing about that movie.)
Placebo Effect Posted July 18, 2005 Report Posted July 18, 2005 Another good episode. Not great like the episode two weeks ago, but I'm still loving this show. I will no doubt buy the DVD.
RepoMan Posted July 20, 2005 Report Posted July 20, 2005 I didn't like that episode all that much. The YCDTOTV part was slightly disapointing and I would have thought the real theme was public domain.
slimm44 Posted April 2, 2006 Report Posted April 2, 2006 Season two begins tonight. 11:30 EST/10:30 central
Gary Floyd Posted April 3, 2006 Author Report Posted April 3, 2006 Not a bad season premire Highlights: -The opening (with cameos from Peter Griffin, Master Shake, and Space Ghost. Also, looks like George Lowe is doing voice duty this season) -TWO SCOOPS! -Macho Man Randy Savage vs. The Kool Aid Man -The Six Million Peso Man (funnier than anything on "Minoriteam") -Pedophile Unicorn -Mr. & Ms. Brady -Skater McGee (I loved this because I hate Skaters) -Hangman -Alien Invaders
tekcop Posted April 3, 2006 Report Posted April 3, 2006 Very good episode. Felt more like the beginning of the first season than the end of it.
Ced Posted April 3, 2006 Report Posted April 3, 2006 The second part of The Six Million Peso Man got a good laugh out of me for some reason.
Mecha Mummy Posted April 3, 2006 Report Posted April 3, 2006 I loved the Revenge of the Nerds reference. And The Six Million Peso Man was gold. Good start to the season.
Gary Floyd Posted April 10, 2006 Author Report Posted April 10, 2006 I didn't think it would be possible, but they just had a Feldman-Haim reunion. I kid you not.
