Ask Al, Part II

Recommended Posts

For my next column, I'll take your questions, preferably regarding the upcoming baseball season. I will answer historical questions as well if you wish. Please no questions regarding steroid usage, as I do not feel like addressing them. So go ahead and post your queries.

How do the Red Sox look going into this season as compared to last and what are their chances of repeating as no other team has done so since the Yankees in 2000?

Okay a real question.

Will this finally be the year that Barry Bonds starts to decline?

Who will have the better year: Edgar Rentaria in Boston, Nomar Garciaparra in Chicago, or Orlando Cabrera in Anaheim?

How will Derek Lowe fare as the de-facto "ace" of the Dodgers?

Will A-Rod have a more A-Rod-type year, improving on his .286-36-106 performance in year 1 with the Yankees?

Couldn't A-Rod's dropped be attributed to the change in scenery? His road numbers this year were fifteen points higher in batting and 40 points higher in slugging, though I can't find past totals.

Can the Phillies win the NL East this offseason with the lower expectations and more press being given to Atlanta, Florida, and the Mets?

I bet this one gets answered.

I also think Al and I would have different answers.

Good point. Yankee Stadium isn't exactly the funnest place on earth for righties.

Anyway, my question.

After a massive improvement from 03, is 40-50 homeruns out of the question for Hideki Matsui?

Will Schilling pitch?

Will Ben Sheets be impressive again?

Can the D-Rays be contenders? (not countin the Yanks and Sox in the Division)

Will Sammy Sosa make a good impression in Baltimore?
