Guest Jack Potts Report post Posted March 4, 2005 What a terrible main event! I'm not talking about the "surprise" run-in, screw job finish from JBL and his Cabinet that I swear I've seen several times from them before. I'm talking about how terrible those two are in the ring. Not everyone can be a technical marvel, but you think that if their moveset wasn't that deep, two young guys like that would have the conditioning to set and maintain a sharp pace and keep the match interesting. What was with all the rest holds? It seemed like the entire match was Weak Punch, Rear Naked Choke, Stall, Rinse and Repeat. Cena's got charisma to burn, but he's so vanilla and dull in the ring, that I'm not really looking forward to him holding the championship belt. On a side note, Cena should really flip the F-U around so his opponents land on their shoulders and backs (kind of like the finisher Sean O'Haire used, although I forget its name). Right now, it's a rather weak looking finisher, unless Cena's been working on his opponent's toes, heels and ankles throughout the match, which would cause them excruciating pain when they take the F-U bump on their FEET! Crimson Platypus 0 Report post Posted March 4, 2005 I wish that they would let the wrestlers go all out on PPV and keep the "main event style" to the televised shows. It would entice people to purchase the PPVs if they knew they were going to get an all out match or three. Plus it makes sense that the wrestlers would go that extra mile for the PPV win/payday/belt/etc...

Guest Jack Potts Report post Posted March 4, 2005 Oops! Sorry, Orlando JORDAN. Although I'm certain the former 7-Up pitchman could get a better match out of Cena than Orlando Jordan did.

cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted March 4, 2005 Would this be some kind of Replacements feud for Favreau and Jones? As in "Keanu liked me better than you!" Look did you EXPECT Cena/Orlando to be worth a shit? I'm telling you, Cena/JBL will be the worst main event in WM history....both guys are unspectacular to bad in ring wrestlers and I'd hope Teddy would eventually ban everyone from ringside so not even the Jordan/Bashams run ins will likely happen. Dobbs 3K 0 Report post Posted March 4, 2005 Personally I didn't think the match was that bad...maybe winning the US Title will help Orlando Jordan move up the card (hey, I'm not crazy about the guy, but Smackdown needs more "names"). I guess Cena losing means he is pretty much a lock to win the WWE Championship at WM21. WWE did the same thing with Orton dropping the IC strap before winning the World Heavyweight Title. Jericholic82 0 Report post Posted March 4, 2005 That was a horrible match I agree. I totally called the finish to that one while watching the show (i dont read the spoilers anymore) . This does make Cena a virtual lock it would seem, but I was hoping for a champ vs champ match since they havent done anything like that since wm6. I wonder if they will bring back the old us title, or will OJ keep the spinner to annoy cena? and if cena does win the wwe title, does this mean hell get a new custom one of those too? too bad they just started marketing replicas of the us spinner
JoeDirt 0 Report post Posted March 4, 2005 I don't see why they gave them 15-20 minutes. They could have easily accomplished the same stuff in a 6-7 minute match. They need to book to the strengths of their wrestlers.
SuperJerk 0 Report post Posted March 5, 2005 I was hoping for a champ vs champ match since they havent done anything like that since wm6. Stupid WWE Rule #8743: Can't have a guy with a singles title wrestling another guy with a World title for the World title, unless a stipulation is that the titles are being unified (rule implemented after Wrestlemania 6). Guest Brian Report post Posted March 5, 2005 In my opinion, when a guy holds two titles at once, it usually devalues the second title.
Jericholic82 0 Report post Posted March 6, 2005 well the old wwf kayfabe rule was one guy cannot hold two titles, that seemed to have been changed back in 1995, when the world champ diesel and the ic champ HBK were allowed to challenge for the tag titles. shawn also coheld the euro and wwf titles, as well as dlo , jarett, and angle winning the euro-continental title. But hey, this way they won't have to do any silly tournament again, and Cena is not hurt by this loss since it was by illegal means (like losing the us title to Carlito the last time was as well). and I guess it gets more heat on this feud for mania. Of course this also means that Orlando will likely be defending said championship at mania.
