Wrestlemania Predictions Thread

Recommended Posts

Here are my predictions for what I think WILL happen and what I think SHOULD happen at the granddaddy of them all. Post yours too. J

HHH v. Batista:

SHOULD HAPPEN: Batista crushes HHH by beating him to a bloody mess ala The Road Warriors and the Midnights. Not a squash mind you, but a severe beating that HHH has had coming for a long time so the haters can watch him suffer "for his sins" so to speak.

WILL HAPPEN: Sorry HHHaters, but the favorite son is going over. But I wouldn't be surprised to see Cena come out after winning the title from JBL earlier in the night so the crowd goes home somewhat happy. It is very true though that since there aren't any strong enough heels to challenge for the gold HHH needs to hold onto it for awhile longer.

JBL vs. Cena:

SHOULD HAPPEN: A blow away match were Cena goes over. Cena has shown good timing in getting the crowd to pop for him as has JBL in getting his heat, but neither guy seems to really have what it takes to win over everybody with that 4 to 5 star match we expect from guys playing at this level.

WILL HAPPEN: A decent match that will get good amounts of undeserved heat from the crowd and impress no one. Cena still goes over. I'm thinking a face off with Cena and HHH somewhere during the show might spark a fight after the Batista loss.

Angle vs. HBK:

SHOULD HAPPEN: Angle makes HBK tap to the anklelock in a match that goes 25-30 minutes somewhere just after the middle of the event. Angle deserves this win. Being that this really isn’t the main event it isn’t going to get the 35 – 40 minutes smarks are really hoping for.

WILL HAPPEN: I’m thinking they are going to go with Angle picking up the win. The promo on RAW this week seems to indicate that the finish will come down to the anklelock. Seeing as though they showed so many of the tap outs in the past they seem to have it in mind. But I am expecting this to be match of the night as are most of you I’d assume.

Money in the Bank Ladder Match:

SHOULD HAPPEN: Jericho should win this as they never followed up on his promo months ago where he talked about somebody "being in the title scene not named H-H-H." Besides at this point HHH owes him and eventually he’ll have to do business with Jericho. No better time like the present. Could be a show stealer, but whether or not it is might depend where on the card it is. If later in the night its chances are good, earlier not so much.

WILL HAPPEN: Shelton will get the duke here which will no doubt undermine his IC title reign and make no sense as he can afford a loss here. The rest have no real chance as Kane, Christian, and Benoit are in limbo and Edge won’t be rewarded for walking away with a friends’ girlfriend.

Undertaker vs. Randy Orton:

SHOULD HAPPEN: Taker jobs to the RKO in a match brutality wise, should rival Ortons Foley match. Orton needs to be rebuilt as a heel more than keeping Takers streak alive.

WILL HAPPEN: Taker jobs to a weapon shot after multiple RKOs (and no doubt a run in or two) that either get no sold or just doesn’t get it done. Orton isn’t going to get much for being in this match regardless if Taker is game for the match or not. Perhaps Foley as a surprise guest ref?

Rey Rey vs Eddie:

SHOULD HAPPEN: Both guys tease heel turns throughout the match (ala Pillman/Zenk from years ago) yet still have a good match nobody cheats (!) and they stay friends, yet rivals.

WILL HAPPEN: Eddie turns on Rey with some evil heel tricks. The crowd boos Eddie but when he wins the match they cheer him cuz he is fucking cool. The following weeks are a blur as in spite of all their efforts to make him a heel the crowd continues to cheer him for awhile but slowly stops caring cuz the WWE isn’t giving them what they want. Ahhhh apathy.

Trish vs. Christy:

SHOULD HAPPEN: It shouldn't.

WILL HAPPEN: It will.

TBS vs. Akebono:

SHOULD HAPPEN: At least not a SUMO match. Whatever.

WILL HAPPEN: Put over Big Show and do it quick.

No cruiserweight title match? No tag title match? Maybe they will announce SOMETHING in the next week or so.

The CW title match is in limbo because of Chavo's injury. Though it was never officially announced on tv; Chavo/London was set for Mania.

The world tag title is forgotten and they will actually likely be cornering Christy with Lita while Le Rez joins the corner of trish most likely.

Besides at this point HHH owes him and eventually he’ll have to do business with Jericho.

..... BWAH HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA

Oh, I'm sorry. You were serious.

The only way Triple H will EVER even consider jobbing to Jericho again is if he has a gun to his head, or divorce papers from Stephanie McMahon in his hand.

I guarantee that Batista will go over HHH at Wrestlemania. If he doesn't, I'll make a couple quick posts about what a misguided idiot I was, and then never post in the WWE folder again.

Heres what I think will happen and what I want to happen.

HHH vs. Batista:

What I think will happen - Batista wins the title and the hero winning at Wrestlemania happens again.

What I want to happen - Triple H retaining the title putting Batista on that long list of people who have fallen victim to him.

JBL vs. Cena:

What I think will happen - Cena wins the title making the heavyweight title holder someone the fans like again after months of JBL crap.

What I want to happen - Cena beats JBL who disappears into the U.S. title contention for life so I will never have to see him with Smackdowns top title again.

Angle vs. HBK:

What I think will happen - HBK does the same to Angle that he did to Jericho at Wrestlemania X8, only difference being Angle dosent need this win.

What I want to happen - I actually dont care how this match ends as long as its a good one, and with these two it should be a given.

Money in the Bank Ladder Match:

What I think will happen - Benjiman wins and uses the title shot at Summer Slam.

What I want to happen - Jericho wins and uses the title shot at Wrestlemania 22.

Undertaker vs. Randy Orton:

What I think will happen - Really conflicted on this one I could see it going either way but I think that Taker will add another person to his Wrestlemania resume.

What I want to happen - Taker to squash stupid Randy Orton in less then five minutes....alas that will never happen...would be nice though.

Rey vs Eddie:

What I think will happen - Rey gets the win and the push that he oh so deserves while Eddie looses it and attacks Rey becoming a heel.

What I want to happen - Rey gets the win and the push that he oh so deserves while Eddie cant help but raise Reys hand in victory and congradulate him.

Trish vs. Christy:

What I think will happen - Christy wins after outside interfearance from Lita.

What I want to happen - Trish wins and Lita just falls down the ramp on her way out and breaks her nose. :D

The Big Show vs. Akebono:

What I think will happen - Akebono beats Show in a boring sumo match

What I want to happen - Not this match thats for sure as hell.

HHH vs. Batista:

What I think will happen - Batista wins after Flair messes up on an interferance attempt with the Demonbomb in about 15-20 minutes.

What I want to happen - Batista wins in less than 5 minutes because HHH tears his quad again. I don't at all like Batista but I'm so fucking sick of HHH that I just want him gone.

JBL vs. Cena:

What I think will happen - Cena will win in a shitty match with the FU after fighting off the whole Cabinet in about 15 minutes.

What I want to happen - What I think will happen.

Angle vs. HBK:

What I think will happen - HBK goes over in a 30 minute long 4+ star affair that half the board will pan because Shawn's shoelace was untied for the last 3 minutes of the match.

What I want to happen - The result doesn't matter, neither guy has anything to gain or lose here as long as they deliver what they promised, a great match.

Money in the Bank Ladder Match:

What I think will happen - Shelton goes over in an underwhelming spotfest.

What I want to happen - Shelton goes over in a great spotfest. The only problem is that he's a face so he'll have to hold off on using the title shot until HHH takes the belt back, unless they waste it on Raw in a face/face match.

Undertaker vs. Randy Orton:

What I think will happen: Taker goes over clean with the Tombstone after a decent match.

What I want(ed) to happen - Orton goes over clean with the RKO after kickignout of the Tombstone. Orton is apparently going to have shoulder surgery so putting him doesn't make any sense now.

Rey vs Eddie:

What I think will happen - A very good match that will pale in comparison to their Halloween havoc match. Eddy will go heel even though he shouldn't. Eddy wins with the Frog Splach after cheating.

What I want to happen - Eddy goes over clean with the Frog Splash in a 5 star match. With no bullshit and just Eddy's normal heelish stuff.

Trish vs. Christy:

What I think will happen - I think Trish wins this one. Christy's Playboy thing is already over and she's not. A heel needs to win on this show somewhere.

What I want to happen - Trish to come to my house and felate me through out the show.

The Big Show vs. Akebono:

What I think will happen - Big Show wins in a really stupid match consisting of two guys I have no interest in seeing.

What I want to happen - This match to be canceled in order to give Rey/Eddy and Angle/HBK more time.

Piper's Pit: Hassaan interupts and lays out both guys leading to a Hassaan/Austin match at Backlash.

HHH vs. Batista

Batista's character will basically be killed if he doesn't win here. I wouldn't totally count out a loss, though, or some sort of cheap DQ/Countout. Although, the crowd would be majorly pissed.

Prediction: Batista

JBL vs. John Cena

I don't mind who wins this. Cena would be something fresh, but I've been liking JBL as champ the last few months. I get the feeling that it's unlikely that both World Titles will change hands, and Batista needs a win more than Cena. If that's the case, JBL retains. But, storyline-wise, Cena's been through alot of shit, losing the US Title, not being able to touch JBL, so I think he has a win coming to him.

Prediction: Cena

HBK vs. Kurt Angle

I want Kurt to win just because I like him more than HBK, but Angle's been way too cocky going into this to win. I'm looking forward to this match the most.

Prediction: HBK

Undertaker vs. Randy Orton

I'm leaning toward Taker mostly, but an Orton win wouldn't totally shock me. I'm assuming that in the two interpromotional matches that it will be one Raw win and one SD win. With HBK winning the match above, Taker gets the SD win here.

Prediction: Taker

Money in the Bank Ladder Match

This match is actually unpredictable to me. I could see anyone win. Here's how I rank everyone's chances: (1) Christian (2) Benoit (3) Kane (4) Edge (5) Shelton (6) Jericho. The only problem I see with a face win is that a face can't mess with the champion (likely face Batista) like a heel can. If Edge or Christian wins, they can play mind games with the champion and dangle his title shot over the champ's head every week. Obviously, the big match will likely be at a PPV. The whole "1 year expiration" of the title shot is the intriguing part, so WWE will have wasted it if they have the match some time between WM and Backlash. That part can allow for a huge build to a title match at either Bad Blood or even Summerslam (which is where I'd finally have the match). I picked Christian, so if he does win, he had better be given a monster push after WM. Anyway, I'm looking forward to this, a lot, as well.

Prediction: Christian

Eddie Guerrero vs. Rey Mysterio

Eddie NEEDS the win. If given enough time, this could easily be MOTN. I get the feeling that they'll do an ending similar to Piper & Bret at WM VIII, with Eddie playing Piper with the ring bell and Rey playing Bret. Just because they're doing a similar scene doesn't mean Rey has to win though. After Eddie decides not to cheat, have Rey get some near falls and just have Eddie overcome him to win.

Prediction: Eddie

Big Show vs. Akebono

I don't care, at all. They can't job Big Show to someone not even on the roster. So...

Prediction: Big Show

Trish vs. Christy

Could be horrible. I just hope they don't put the title on Christy. This is a toss-up to me, but I'll say Trish just because after the way she's been built, I don't think WWE is stupid enough to give Christy the win. However, they need some new challengers (Laree, maybe?) after WM, because this division has been DEAD for some time, now.

Prediction: Trish

I think that's everything. Despite what alot of people are saying, I can't wait for WM, this year. I predict a good show.

Cena vs JBL - WWE Title

Should Happen: JBL retains in a bloodbath in L.A., making both of 'em!

Will Happen: In an overbooked mess, Cena wins to the second biggest pop of the night.

Triple H vs Batista - World Heavyweight Title

Should Happen: Batista brutalizies HHH. Wins Belt. Does Machine Gun Taunt.

Will Happen: ^

Randy Orton vs. Undertaker

Should Happen: Honestly, I don't see any purpose in Taker going over here....

Will Happen: ....So, obviously, Taker's so going over here.

Angle vs HBK

Should Happen: HBK and Angle go at it for 30 minutes. Angle catches sweet chin music...kicks out...Shawn goes for it again and into an ankle lock. Shawn taps. Both shake hands afterwards.

Will Happen: I think this one is going to go to Angle, although with a drastically different finish than the one listed above.

Money in the Bank

Should Happen: In terms of who has been booked best going into this match, Shelton Benjamin has been on-fire. I think he should win here and go on to face the champ.

Will Happen: Kane was beaten by Batista last week, so no one is buying him as a challenger. Edge, Benoit, Christian are non-possibilities. I see Jericho taking the win due to the fact this whole idea was his in the first place.

Trish vs Cristy

Should Happen: Well, it is Wrestlemania...how bout a Mae Young run-in!

Will Happen: Sadly, we'll get a heatless bore of a contest that ends with Trish walking out champ.

Big Show vs Akebono

Should Happen: ?

Will Happen: ?

Eddie vs Rey

Should Happen: Match of the Night, boys. I don't care who wins, as long as they bring their working boots!

Will Happen: Eddie takes it with a roll-up with a handful of tights.

CENA-JBL

Should Happen: Cena wins after a couple of ref bumps and Cabinet interference. They do a bunch of near falls after the Cabinet interferes, but Cena keeps kicking out, and eventually wins with the F-U.

Will Happen: My guess is that they'll have the Cabinet interfere early, and then get kicked out, leaving Cena-JBL one on one and Cena wins clean

BATISTA-HHH

Should Happen: Batista wins in 6 minutes, takes some offence form H for the first couple of minutes, then starts no-selling and kicks ass

Will Happen: Big Dave wins clean with the Demon Bomb, only problem is that its after 25 minutes,a nd Batista has been selling for half the match, doing major damage to his potential as a draw.

ANGLE-HBK

Should Happen: One of them (doesn't matter which) wins clean in the middle after a 25 minutes of action.

Will Happen: I pretty much think HBK will just win clean.

ORTON-TAKER

Should Happen: Orton wins with RKO clean in the middle. During the match he kicks out of the chokeslam and the Last Ride, and escapes the Tombstone and turns it into the RKO for the win.

Will Happen: Taker lays down, but gets 6 visuals on Orton, and Orton has to use an RKO on a chair to keep Taker down. Taker later claims he "made" Orton in that match.

LADDER MATCH

Should Happen: Edge wins, but doesn't use the title shot right away. When he finally does cash it in, its after Batista has had a tough title defense, Edge comes in and wins the title from a weakened Batista

Will Happen: Edge will probably win, none of the other guys make any sense.

REY-EDDIE

Should Happen: Both guys try to cheat but keep getting cut off by the other guy, eventually Eddie wins clean.

Will Happen: Eddie wins, but with help from Chavo, maybe something like Eddie has Rey pinned, and Chavo holds Reys leg down from the outside (think Rude-Warrior from Mania V). Eddie doesn't realize Chavo helped, continues the story with Eddie, Rey and Chavo.

SHOW-AKEBONO

Shoudl Happen: Big Show forfeits this spot on the card for the final battle between London and Akio, and they steal the show in a 15 minute classic.

Will Happen: Show wins, gets over more than anything else on the show...haha, just kidding, it'll bomb live.

CHRISTY-TRISH

Should Happen: Trish acts like a bully the whole match, lays a beating on her, gives her a Chick Kick, instead of going for the pin, she picks her up for another Chick Kick, Lita jumps up on the apron and Trish goes to punch her, when she turns around BAM Christy nails a kick on Trish and KO's her and gets the win. Trish wins it back at Backlash.

Will Happen: Meh, thats probably pretty close to what will happen.

I can't believe they scheduled a 4 hour show and only have 7 actual matches and a sumo match to fill it up.

They really could've done some sort of Tajiri/Regal Vs Le Rez deal or Jordan/Booker T and of course the apprently canceled London/Chavo match.

Only 3 matches appear worthy of going 20+ minutes(Ladder, Eddy V. Rey and Shawn V. Kurt).

Piper's Pit will be 30 minutes won't it?

and fuck~!. Eddy Vs Rey is jerking the show isnt it?

I'm not sure we have all the matches yet, but here goes anyway:

HHH v. Batista:

SHOULD HAPPEN: In a match that doesn't go over 15 minutes, Batista basically dominates, with one or two short spells of HHH offense. Rather like HHH/Benoit from 2 weeks ago. Sledgehammer comes out while Flair distracts, Batista blocks it. Flair interferes, gets punked out by Big Dave. While the ref is ejecting Flair, HHH hits a low blow and a Pedigree just like on Benoit. JR goes apeshit, Batista kicks out, JR goes more apeshit, Batista hits a bunch of offense and a powerbomb for the title.

WILL HAPPEN: The match goes too long and is even more overbooked than the above. Some of the crowd cheer for HHH as he dominates a good portion of the match. Batista eventually hits the powerbomb for the title.

JBL vs. Cena:

SHOULD HAPPEN: Cena and JBL surprise with a dramatic, heavily worked 20 minute match with lots of blood. JBL works over a body part and hits a lot of high impact offense. Cena sticks to what he's good at (selling and making comebacks). I really don't mind who wins here, as long as JBL only does so after Cena kicks out of a ton of offense and has to take a belt shot/alternative for JBL to win. It's be nice if Cena has to hit a better version of the FU to take the title, but that's probably hoping too much.

WILL HAPPEN: Pretty much the above. Cena wins with the FU.

Angle vs. HBK:

SHOULD HAPPEN: 20-25 minutes should be just right for this match. Lots of matwork and clever counters to start with, some intense brawling in the middle, then back to the ring for highspots and nearfalls galore. I'd like to see Angle get the win, but won't be too miffed if HBK takes it. If I get to see the Anglesault one more time (at Mania no less) then I shall be very happy indeed, and will utterly disregard the crazy (lack of) selling that will probably occur.

WILL HAPPEN: Pretty much the above. On the one hand, as it's a legend/legend type match, HBK seems likely to win, but some heels need to go over at WM, and Angle seems a reasonable bet. I still predicy Shawn to win though, after toughing out numerous Anklelocks and missing SCM a couple of times (the 'tuning up the band' version must not and will not connect) he finally hits it for the pin.

Money in the Bank Ladder Match:

SHOULD HAPPEN: A crazy, dramatic spotfest where each and every guy gets to put over his desire to get that shot at the title. Absolutely no-one should do spots off the ladder instead of grabbing the briefcase. Shelton should get plenty of opportunity to showcase himself. Kane should be there to catch those doing big dives and not much else. Kane must not win. A Christian win would fit the stips nicely.

WILL HAPPEN: A crazy, dramatic spotfest where each and every guy eventually gets chokeslammed by Kane, who wins.

Undertaker vs. Randy Orton:

SHOULD HAPPEN: I don't really want to see either man win here. Probably the best result is a hard-fought match where Randy uses every trick in the book to wear down his bigger opponent, before a ref bump occurs when Randy has Taker pinned. Randy complains, Taker sits up and hits a chokeslam. Orton kicks out, but gets rolled up after another RKO attempt. Taker wins but Orton then beats the shit out of him with a chair.

WILL HAPPEN: A replay of HBK/Y2J from WMXIX. Except without the workrate.

Rey Rey vs Eddie:

SHOULD HAPPEN: A fast, fun, show opener with both guys going full throttle. No heel turns, no interference or ref bumps. Eddie goes over clean (apart from the usual slight cheating) with the frog splash.

WILL HAPPEN: The above, except Rey pulls off an upset win which sows the seeds of the team breaking up.

Trish vs. Christy:

SHOULD HAPPEN: Trish decimates Christy over 5 minutes and wins.

WILL HAPPEN: Christy wins.

TBS vs. Akebono:

SHOULD HAPPEN: 5 minutes full of plenty of comedy spots, as a break between the more dramatic matches.

WILL HAPPEN: I honestly don't have a clue.

HHH-Batista

SHOULD HAPPEN: Batista destroys HHH to win the title in short order. Forget classic Wrestlemania main events, there's enough good matches on this show that you don't have to worry about quality here. I want to see something reminiscent of Warrior/Honky from Summerslam 1988.

WILL HAPPEN: Batista wins, but after HHH gets a lot more offense than he should and the match drags on longer than Batista can handle properly. Batista will win, he has to. He's the most popular guy on RAW, and he would be destroyed by a loss.

JBL-Cena

SHOULD HAPPEN: JBL goes over by cheating, after Cena successfully drives off the rest of the Cabinet. This is the only big money feud Smackdown has, and it would be beneficial to delay the blowoff, as well as saving Cena's big win for a show where it wouldn't be forgotten as easily (thanks to Batista's win).

WILL HAPPEN: JBL gets DQd or some kind of other cheap finish. Either way, he escapes with the title.

Angle-HBK

SHOULD HAPPEN: You don't do a one time only dream feud to have the face job, at least when both guys have limited long term value.

WILL HAPPEN: Shawn wins, unless Orton is going over in which case Angle will win.

Orton-Undertaker

SHOULD HAPPEN: Tombstone and Taker goes to 13-0 which fits his gimmick oddly enough.

WILL HAPPEN: I was positive Orton was going to win this, but his shoulder surgery sure changes things. Either it is a work, or he has to job here.

Money in the Bag Ladder Match

SHOULD HAPPEN: Edge wins after arguably the best match on the show, or at least the most exciting. He needs the win after Shawn buried him.

WILL HAPPEN: Here is another one where I changed my mind based on what happened last week with Batista going over Kane. That now takes who I thought was going to win practically out of the match. Christian has no chance, so that leaves the other four who could possibly win this thing. I'll go out on a limb and say Benoit is taking it. WWE knows he's the best technical wrestler in the company, and they will probably want someone to make Batista look good while putting him over.

Rey-Eddy

SHOULD HAPPEN: Rey needs a big win on PPV in the worst way, and certainly more than Guerrero does. Plus, it would drive Eddy even more insane.

WILL HAPPEN: Eddy has done too many jobs to Rey on Smackdown, and WWE Even-Stephen booking suggests he wins here. He Cheats to Win, which is supposed to turn him heel, despite him doing it for over a year as a face.

Trish-Christy

SHOULD HAPPEN: Trish dominates and sens Christy to OVW.

WILL HAPPEN: Trish dominates and loses the title after Lita interferes. Surely, they aren't considering putting Christy over clean are they?

Big Show-Akebono

SHOULD HAPPEN: Obviously the guy who is going to be around next week should win.

WILL HAPPEN: Who knows? I don't even know whether this is going to be a work or shoot. Note to Vince: Everything should be a work (see Brawl for All)

FINAL THOUGHTS: Hmmm...that seems like an awful lot of faces going over. The only match with some wiggle room is the ladder match, so maybe Edge is going to win it after all. They could put both Angle & Orton over (not just one otherwise one brand looks inferior), but that would be a bad idea given Orton's injury and suckiness and Kurt's injury problems. I guess they are hoping for JBL to carry the heel load, unless (God forbid) Batista is jobbing.

WWE Wrestlemania XXI

World Heavyweight Championship

Triple H © Vs Batista

What should happen: Batista wins convincingly in a short match.

What will happen: Batista will win in a long, drawn out match that exposes him.

WWE Championship

John "Bradshaw" Layfield © Vs John Cena

What should happen: I don't really know, since I don't get Smackdown.

What will happen: JBL will probably retain with a lot of interference. Then Cena can continue the chase and both of the main events won't be won by the babyface.

The Undertaker Vs Randy Orton

What should happen: Randy wins thanks to interference from his dad (and his cast). Post match, Orton Sr. gets the RKO.

What will happen: Taker Tombstones Randy

Shawn Michaels Vs Kurt Angle

What should happen: It doesn't really matter since neither man needs the win.

What will happen: I'm going to say that HBK wins.

6-Man "Money in the Bank" Ladder Match

Edge Vs Christian Vs Shelton Benjamin Vs Chris Benoit Vs Chris Jericho Vs Kane

What should happen: Christian should win, ditch Tomko, and get a serious push.

What will happen: Edge will probably win and go on to get 'bombed by Batista

Rey Mysterio Vs Eddie Guerrero

What should happen: Again, I don't get Smackdown, so I really don't know.

What will happen: Unless I'm missing something, I don't know why Mysterio should go over Eddie. If they're serious about a post-Mania push of the Cruiserweights (yeah, right) then a win over a former WWE champion by a cruiser seems like a big deal.

WWE Women's Championship

Trish Stratus © Vs Christy Hemme

What should happen: Trish wins in a squash.

What will happen: Christy wins thanks to a Lita distraction.

The Big Show Vs Akebono

What should happen: If it's a sumo match, Akebono should dominate him.

What will happen: Akebono will probably still win. I don't think he'd come all the way over here just to lose.

Is Wrestlemania only going to be three hours again this year? I know that they've had longer shows recently. It doesn't seem like eight matches is enough for a show longer than normal.

Nope. Four Hours.

You have factor in that the show will also include a likely long Piper's Pit segment, A 10 minute HOF segment(showing previous nights highlights and introducing them), and sprinkle some backstage skits as well.

I'm certain that they will rush a couple more matches, which i have no problem with, the old days of Mania used to be 6 meaningful matches and like 7 seemingly thrown together matches, so adding 2 more matches wouldn't hurt.

Idealy the U.S Title would be defended with the idea that Long doesnt want Jordan to just stand there with the title and be JBL's lap dog but actually represent his title and that he'll face the winner of a Fatal Four Way that night between Haas, Booker, Dupree and Holly. Which Booker wins thanks to Heidenreich.

I'd still do Chavo Vs London, where London beats him in like 5 minutes, Driving chavo angry and sends him off to a angry rant backstage to eddy which should be a funny and meaningful scene to that whole storyline.

Still wouldn't be shocked if those Hassan Vs Hogan rumors come true.

I expect match times to be

Batistia Vs Triple H=15 Minutes.

(I really dont think it will go 25 minutes like some here do, Historically WM Main events dont go that long, Only 3 times has a main event gone that long. WM12, WM2000, WMX7 and WMXX. The average main event clocks in at about 16-18 minutes long)

JBL Vs Cena=12 minutes

HBK/Angle=24 Minutes

Orton/Undertaker=18 Minutes

Money In the Bank=20 Minutes

Rey/Eddy=18 minutes

Womans Title=8 minutes

Sumo Challenge=I'd expect alot of stalling and then i guess it takes like 5 minutes total (is this going to be IN the ring or will they set up a legit sumo ring?)

*with my bonus additions*

Booker/Jordan=7 Minutes

Chavo/London=6 minutes

Pipers Pit=25 Minutes

HOF Segment that leads into Hassan/Hogan confrontation=20 minutes

that should fill up most of the space and you got plently room left over for your skits and videos.

They are doing less matches and only getting the prominent TV performers on the shows so all of the main matches can have the time the company wants them to have.

I expect Trish vs Christy and Akebono vs Big Show to be short. The other 8 events, the 6 top matches plus Pipers Pit and the Hall of fame will get a lot of time. I expect all 4 main events to get 20 minutes, maybe with HHH vs Batista at 15 and HBK vs Angle at 25. Eddie vs Rey should get 15 and the ladder match at least 15 and maybe 20. The Austin and Hogan segments will take time.

This year they are going with the theory of giving time to the performers that people want to see, as opposed to adding Booker T and Heidenreich, who no one cares about.

You have a 4 hour show with 8 matches, 6 of them long, 2 special events attractions for Austin and Hogan, Motorhead playing HHH to the ring, and the backstage stuff.

Actually, this should be a great show if the guys deliver since they will have the time to do so. I expect the Batista vs HHH, Cena vs JBL, and Taker vs Orton matches to surprise everybody and the other 3 top matches will obviously deliver as well.

In terms of workrate, could be the best Mania ever.

They have the star power too as HHH vs Batista is the strongest Main Event since Hogan vs Rock 3 years ago for a Mania.

i'm not saying it's going to be bad but Its still a little on the thin side and I dont think Batistia/HHH is going to be as long as we expect. I really just want them to add a little blood because i fear that we may get an over drive of skits and I dont like the idea of Austin and Piper taking up 20-25 minutes that 2 matches could have been done.

It just dawned on me that, In a company of 8 titles, only 3 are being defended(wwe, world, womans)

The CW, IC, US, WWE Tag and World tags aren't being defended nor with the exception of eddy, rey and shelton are the champs even booked period.

Wow, I don't see how no one here listed HHH winning as a WILL happen. What in the booking of this feud makes you all think that Trips is going down in this one? Batista has gotten the better of HHH for months, first with mind games, then he powerbombed him through a table, then he destroyed everyone H threw at him to "soften" him up for Mania. HHH hasn't gotten over on Batista even once during this feud. Do you all REALLY think that HHH would let Batista make him his bitch for months and then still job in the match? Let's also not forget that this match wasn't even supposed to happen, this was not put together until probably about January. HHH should have no problem getting out of this job, if he was even ever planned to lose.

This match has the classic "cowardly heel champion looks like he can't defeat the unstoppable face monster but in the end cheats and does anyway" build to it. I will wait until after Raw to make my final predictions though. If Raw ends with H and Flair beating down on Dave, then I'll likely give him the win. But if it ends, as I expect it to, with Evolution trying something, but Batista battles back, and H and Flair walk backwards toward the entrance while Batista points and screams at them, then Big Dave and all you Pimp-a-maniacs are SCREWED.

I see your point, but I think they want to send the people home with a good feeling, Batista wins the World Title. HHH winning would not only screw Batista's career because if he loses he will never be as popular as he is now, but it will also screw RAW 'cause the whole Batista/HHH angle has made RAW pretty interesting again. The WWE wants good buyrates for WM, a cowardly Heel who has held the World Title so many damn times people get sick of it, beats the animal, who overcame all the odds and is now damn popular...it won't sell. I know HHH probably doesn't like to lose 2 times in a row at WrestleMania but he can just win it back next year. After Backlash he should back away from the World Title scene for a while. Eventually let him become the no.1 contender for the World Title at WM, he goes into WM WITHOUT the World Title and wins it back after one year. That way HHH is happy again and on top of the WWE once again. Hell, they will probably try to turn him Face and they will screw up...

HHH v. Batista:

SHOULD HAPPEN: Batista makes relatively short work of HHH, avoiding everything HHH throws at him and dishing it out twice as much, putting a little bit of fear into him and leaving him to wonder what he created.

WILL HAPPEN: Batista wins, but not without Triple H looking just as strong in a big match ending clusterfuck. I wouldn't count out botched interference by Flair, opening the door for more ass kissing in an effort to make it up to him or HHH dumping him and going solo once more/remaking Evolution/reuniting with Steph.

JBL vs. Cena:

SHOULD HAPPEN: JBL wins with help from the Cabinet, Cena snaps after the match, and the chase is on, with JBL surpassing one year as champ before Cena finally takes it from him at SummerSlam.

WILL HAPPEN: Cena wins in an underwhelming stinker of a match, making short work of the Cabinet and JBL himself and ending everything with his usual routine.

Angle vs. HBK:

SHOULD HAPPEN: Angle wins clean with the Anklelock. HBK is sent to SD to continue the feud and give them some desperately needed star power, as well as allowing Angle to have his last great hurrah.

WILL HAPPEN: HBK wins clean. I'd like it if WWE gave a nod to the post-match from HBK/Jericho a few years ago, but I kind of doubt it.

Money in the Bank Ladder Match:

SHOULD HAPPEN: WWE surprises folks for once, pulling the trigger on a big Benjamin or Christian push, starting with the win here.

WILL HAPPEN: Underwhelming match, considering Edge, Benoit, Kane can't take the big bumps, and I don't really know that they'd want to risk it with Benjamin, despite being younger than the rest. Edge wins, since a match with potentially big consequences at the biggest show of the year isn't the place for petty punishments, and WWE will need a ready made feud for Batista that isn't Triple H, with Edge being the best option for that.

Undertaker vs. Randy Orton:

SHOULD HAPPEN: Taker wins in a close, competitive match in which they pull out all the stops which serves to put Orton over as much as a win would.

WILL HAPPEN: Orton dominates just to save him from bumping too much, Taker comes back to win with a Tombstone and a possible stretcher job to set up a feud for SummerSlam or Survivor Series, depending on how long Orton is out, where Orton goes over. In the meantime, bring back RNN.

Rey Rey vs Eddie:

SHOULD HAPPEN: Eddie teases the Lie, Cheat and Steal routine but refrains for the most part, having a good, clean match with Rey, which eventually sees him getting the win. Tension afterward but Rey calms him down, Chavo enters and does a supposedly unknowing Eddie's dirty work, Eddie (or London) chase him off. Rey and Eddie hug, but not without the doubt about Eddie.

WILL HAPPEN: Chavo plays a role in the finish, Eddie takes advantage of it and wins but plays dumb, and no turn as of yet.

Trish vs. Christy:

SHOULD HAPPEN: Trish destroys Christy despite Lita's interference. Christy stops pretending she's a wrestler and goes back to standing around in lingerie, while Trish feuds with a recovered Lita, Victoria, or a newcomer from OVW.

WILL HAPPEN: Christy wins with Lita's help. Trish wins it back later and we proceed to the second part of the above.

TBS vs. Akebono:

SHOULD HAPPEN: Show wins in a five minute affair.

WILL HAPPEN: Show wins in a five minute affair... unless this turns into Butterbean v. Bart Gunn II. But how old is Akebono? I fear WWE has designs on bringing him in as the new fat, plodding sumo guy ala Yokozuna or Rikishi.

And I expect to see one or two of the following. A short Regal/Tajiri v. La Resistance match, or if they want to wedge two more guys in, Regal/Tajiri/Rhyno v. La Resistance/a random Raw heel like Simon Dean or for something cool and random, Rene Dupree. Depending on if Chavo can go, a short London/Chavo match or another Cruiserweight Clusterfuck Exhibition, where London can go over in order to build him up. And a four way US Title match with any combination of Orlando and Booker/Dupree/Kenzo/Haas/Holly.

Okay, so now not only is Trips losing at WM, but he is also staying out of the title picture for a year? LOL, good luck with that.

I do agree with one thing though, and that's the ending being a "happy" one. I see them running Cena out there to give H and Flair a pair of FU's and end with him celebrating rather than HHH. They could easily set this up by having H run into Cena earlier in the show and berate him about how the World title is more important and that's why IT is on last and so on.

I would hate that; considering HHH and JBL have been trading verbal shots at each other for a few months now; and suddenly Cena injects himself?

No. I want Cena to job like a bitch. Triple H to drop the title rightfully to Batista and get sent over to Smackdown and do the JBL/HHH program.

SHOULD HAPPEN: Batista destroys HHH to win the title in short order. Forget classic Wrestlemania main events, there's enough good matches on this show that you don't have to worry about quality here. I want to see something reminiscent of Warrior/Honky from Summerslam 1988.

Actually this was sorta like what I was saying in my first post. Comparable more to the LOD winning the NWA Tag Titles from the MIdnight Express back in I think 88 or so. Just a brutal bloody beating, one sided, and convincing. It would give the fans who have been waiting for HHHeel the beating he has had coming and put Big Dave over super-strong! You're right though about match quality not being TOO important as long as Batista goes over huge.

It's a lock that HBK and Taker will win. I'm still undecided on Triple H, I still have it in my head that Batista might win. I do believe they will put Cena over; or at least he'll have the title for a few months before jobbing it back to JBL.

Yea, I hope Cena just keeps it warm for another JBL win at the Great American Bash. Mainly because it's in Buffalo so I'll be attending, and have 4 people lined up to go as the Cabinet. I'm shaving my head to be Dough Bashem. Man, I hope the cabinet is still together.
