alfdogg Posted April 6, 2005 Report Posted April 6, 2005 I must admit Banders was quite funny as well. I still don't know why he called Mr. Rant an alfdogg ripoff, though.
Giuseppe Zangara Posted April 6, 2005 Report Posted April 6, 2005 It was part of Banders' schtick. Banders was a gimmick, though. I think only a few people know the real story.
Giuseppe Zangara Posted April 6, 2005 Report Posted April 6, 2005 Yeah, but it was neither me nor Agent, which most people seemed to think. Plus, that he was so clearly a gimmick yet effectively pissed off so many people is what made him so great.
{''({o..o})''} Posted April 6, 2005 Report Posted April 6, 2005 I always thought he was subliminal animal. Edit: well, not right away, at least.
Giuseppe Zangara Posted April 6, 2005 Report Posted April 6, 2005 It was. subby got a little sloppy towards the end of Banders' run; certain Banders posts were indistinguishable from subliminal_animal posts, but I only recall like one person calling him on it.
Giuseppe Zangara Posted April 6, 2005 Report Posted April 6, 2005 I miss subby. He's never on AIM anymore.
Nighthawk Posted April 6, 2005 Report Posted April 6, 2005 He came after me and I shouted him down, but I like the guy. He shouldn't stay away on account of me.
BUTT Posted April 6, 2005 Report Posted April 6, 2005 After learning that Banders was a gimmick, it occurs to me that the key to his success was that he posted fairly normally for the first several months, then got progressively stranger and more ridiculous as the months went on. It's like the dude had it all planned from the beginning. You know who I miss? Shoes Head. He was kind of like Banders, except I think he was serious.
Guest Vitamin X Posted April 6, 2005 Report Posted April 6, 2005 Yeah Shoes Head was a decent fellow.
BUTT Posted April 6, 2005 Report Posted April 6, 2005 Well, he got banned because a mod said he was "probably Johnson", but to be quite honest I don't even know who Johnson is so I don't know why that's bad.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted April 6, 2005 Report Posted April 6, 2005 There is no explaining subliminal animal.
Giuseppe Zangara Posted April 6, 2005 Report Posted April 6, 2005 He came after me and I shouted him down Your interpretation of history is unique.
Nighthawk Posted April 6, 2005 Report Posted April 6, 2005 I've never once been had the better of on this board. He tried, and I shut his ass down.
Giuseppe Zangara Posted April 6, 2005 Report Posted April 6, 2005 Your reply to his "You sure talk a lot for someone I just shut up" was "Do you know who I am?" which was the equivalent of choking back tears, flailing your arms and whining, "no, you shut up!"
Nighthawk Posted April 6, 2005 Report Posted April 6, 2005 No, I legitimately wanted to know. I'm so well liked, I wouldn't think anyone would want to say that to me if they knew who I was. That was only the first exchange, anyway.
BUTT Posted April 7, 2005 Report Posted April 7, 2005 One time my dad was yelling at my brother and my brother actually said "Do you know who I am?" as though he deserved celebrity treatment from his own father despite never actually doing anything in his life.
Jingus Posted April 7, 2005 Report Posted April 7, 2005 Has there ever been an observed or recorded incident where the shouted phrase "Do you know who I am?!" was not screamed with much gheyness?
PLAGIARISM! Posted April 7, 2005 Report Posted April 7, 2005 One time my dad was yelling at my brother and my brother actually said "Do you know who I am?" as though he deserved celebrity treatment from his own father despite never actually doing anything in his life. Oh lord, that would piss my brother off so much I'm using it against him in the next hour or so.
