converge241 Posted April 1, 2005 Report Posted April 1, 2005 supposedly the reuinted Anthrax? the rest of the lineup for reference: Sabbath Maiden Shadows BLS Rob Zombie Killswitch As I Lay Dying The Haunted Mastodon A Dozen Furies In Flames Arch Enemy Bury Your Dead Black Dahlia Murder It Dies Today Soilwork Trivium
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted April 1, 2005 Report Posted April 1, 2005 I might go if I can scam a ticket on the cheap. I like Mastodon, and Arch Enemy's ok if I'm up close. I've seen Sabbath twice already and have no real keen interest at looking at a propped-up Ozzy spraying water on teenage headbanger dumbshits while everyone plays under a lot of overdubbing. While I don't care for Iron Maiden and detest power metal in general, I wouldn't object to seeing them live. I'd check out some of the bands I've never heard just to give them a chance. Everyone else on the bill can fuck right off, however. I wouldn't pay full price to go.
swan Posted April 1, 2005 Report Posted April 1, 2005 "Launch Radio Networks is reporting that VELVET REVOLVER has firmed up plans to be part of this year's Ozzfest tour. Drummer Matt Sorum said the group will play 10 Ozzfest dates, commencing on August 16 in West Valley City, Utah. The last seven dates will be in lieu of IRON MAIDEN, which drops off the bill on August 20." http://www.roadrunnerrecords.com/blabbermo...ewsitemID=34919 I thought the Abthrax reuunion was already a go, at least until todays April 1st news conferance: http://www.roadrunnerrecords.com/blabbermo...ewsitemID=34592 Well, I guess it doesn't say anything about Ozzfest.
2GOLD Posted April 1, 2005 Report Posted April 1, 2005 I might just get the Ozzy Box Set and get the two for one ticket considering how much these damn tickets are. Be cheaper to pay for the box set than buy another ticket anyway.
swan Posted April 1, 2005 Report Posted April 1, 2005 "ANTHRAX have shot down rumors that they will be appearing at this year's Ozzfest, stating that they will be holding off their U.S. touring plans until the fall." http://www.roadrunnerrecords.com/blabbermouth.net/
converge241 Posted April 6, 2005 Author Report Posted April 6, 2005 it may not be Anthrax but they mystery band was advertised as 5 members Mudvayne (4 members) is not the "mystery band" they were just added to be added
2GOLD Posted April 6, 2005 Report Posted April 6, 2005 Stupid suggestion/question What are the odds of a White Zombie reunion?
swan Posted April 6, 2005 Report Posted April 6, 2005 it may not be Anthrax but they mystery band was advertised as 5 members Mudvayne (4 members) is not the "mystery band" they were just added to be added After several weeks of rumors and speculation, MUDVAYNE have been officially announced the "mystery band" on Ozzfest 2005's main stage, according to Ozzfest.com. The festival billing is now shaping up as follows: Main Stage: BLACK SABBATH IRON MAIDEN MUDVAYNE SHADOWS FALL BLACK LABEL SOCIETY Second Stage: ROB ZOMBIE KILLSWITCH ENGAGE AS I LAY DYING MASTODON A DOZEN FURIES THE HAUNTED IN FLAMES ARCH ENEMY THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER BURY YOUR DEAD IT DIES TODAY SOILWORK TRIVIUM As previously reported, VELVET REVOLVER drummer Matt Sorum has told Launch Radio Networks that the group will play 10 Ozzfest dates, commencing on August 16 in West Valley City, Utah. Styles Posted April 7, 2005 Report Posted April 7, 2005 Like I said in the other thread: yuck. This Ozzfest was looking so good with Anthrax being rumored, but they had to go to a typical dreck Ozzfest band like Mudvayne. Still will go to see Sabbath and Maiden though. Saw Mudvayne live opening for Metallica a couple years ago and they were terrible and the crowd booed all through their set. The lead singer was asking us to give them a chance and only got a pop when he mentioned Metallica...
B. Brian Brunzell Posted April 8, 2005 Report Posted April 8, 2005 I'm not going to Ozzfest again until I get Devin Townsend somewhere on the bill.
death_by_burrito Posted April 11, 2005 Report Posted April 11, 2005 Two more mysery bands added to Ozzfest, one on the main stage and the other on the second stage. The main stage band is Velvet Revolver, which was announced a week or so ago. They will be doing the last few dates of the tour (from Aug. 23 to Sept. 4th), I believe mainly to fill in for Iron Maiden taking off the last 7 dates. The second stage band has not yet been announced, but I hope to god it's Children of Bodom.
