WOOOOOO!!! What a Game By Clipper rookie Shaun Livingston

17 points 9 assists 8 rebounds 6 six steals and the game winning shot with 1 second to play against the Bobcats.

Clippers are now officially percentage points ahead of the Lakers.

Unless you're a Lakers fan that isnt good news for the Clippers. It just means a worse draft pick.

Like getting High draft Picks has done wonders for the Clippers anyway. I can almost guarantee that the Lakers will somehow end up with 2nd or 3rd pick .

The Clippers ending with a better record than the Lakers would be the most embrassing moment in Laker history.

If the Clippers can somehow get Allen, Redd, Hughes or Joe Johnson to sign with them next year (hell have Kittles actually play a game next season) then the Clippers are a lock for the playoffs next year.

I find it hilarious how everything with you has to be direct competition with the Lakers when the Lakers couldn't really give less of a shit about the Clippers.. or really any other team the way they've played since Rudy T. resigned, come to think of it..

At least we still have those 12 World Championships...

Baron Davis and T Mac just finishined their duel. T Mac had 44 points 7 ast. and 4 stl in a loss while Baron dropped 40 with 13 assists and 5 stl. And they both shot over 50%.

I have a feeling the Lakers, if they get a top 5 pick, will end up with Sean May (if he declares, that is)....

Word from ESPN's crack staff ("they on crack!") is that the Cavs will fire Jim Paxson in the next day or two. Seriously, what the FUCK is up with their new owner?!?! At this rate they'll run LeBron straight out of town, unless this is the prelude to bringing in someone in a coach/gm position (Phil Jackson?)

Now that the night's over, here is the current West seeding.

1. Phoenix (57-17, clinched Pacific)

2. San Antonio (54-19, clinched Southwest)

3. Seattle (50-24, Northwest leader)

4. Dallas (50-24, clinched berth)

5. Sacramento (46-30)

6. Houston (44-31)

7. Denver (42-31)

8. Memphis (41-32)

9. Minnesota (39-35)

Everyone else is mathematically eliminated.

Seattle needs a win AND a Denver loss to clinch the Northwest. Sacramento needs a win AND a Minnesota loss to clinch a playoff berth.

Dallas and Seattle are 1-1 against each other, and still play two more games. If they end up 2-2, 2nd tiebreak is conference record, which right now goes to Seattle.

The Warriors have won 9-10 since Baron Davis has become a contributor.

Baron Davis could take a Jr. High School team and make them winners in the nba.

Funny

I think the Lakers gave a damn what the Clippers were doing last summer when they fired Phil and traded Shaq to make sure Kobe signed back with them rather than go to the Clippers.

Phil Jackson didn't get fired. His contract was over and neither side was interested in a new contract. Shaq turned down a two-year contract extension, demanding more money for declining play over the past couple years, so he got traded.

Realistically, did you honestly think Kobe WASN'T going to re-up with the Lakers? I mean, come on, the CLIPPERS? You're more deluded than I thought.

I'm deluded?

Answer me this, if it was such a guarantee that Kobe was going to re-sign then why were the Lakers so quick to trade Shaq for 3 above average players at best,

right before Kobe made his decision?

If the Lakers knew Kobe was coming back why not wait and get the best available offer. They knew they couldn't and are now screwed until 2007.

They tried trading Shaq for Dirk Nowitzki, they even tried to get Wade for him in the Miami deal. If you look at the thread from last year everyone said Miami would be stupid to give that much up for an overweight, aging, declining center for 2 very good prospects and a solid contributor. Obviously what happened afterwards is another story, in that Grant ended up getting no minutes and Butler was extremely disappointing but Odom kept up his play.

Also remember that at that point there was no guarantee with Kobe coming back to play because of the rape trial. The moves made with Shaq and the other players on the team were despite him, not because of him.

Personally, I think a lot of the blame has been unfairly taken off of Kupchak who, after all, is the Lakers' GM and made all of these decisions. Then again, at the time the Heat deal sounded like it was great, since L.A. was getting two of the three players who consisted of the nucleus that turned around the Heat from one of the worst teams in the league to the second round of the playoffs.

That's really fucked up.

I used to be a Knicks fan- it comes with the territory

I AM a Knicks fan and I still think it's fucked up.

Damon Stoudamire puts up a triple double tonight. 13pts, 12, rb, 10 ast, plus 5 steals. Not bad for a guy that claims to be 5-10. The Blazers continue to lose and look to be locked into that #4 Lottery spot. The game was close but the Blazers are barely even fielding a competitive team anymore. The only real bright spot this season has been the phenomenal play of Joel Pryzbilla who put up 19pts 14rbs and 5 blocks tonight.

Amazing how far the Blazers have fallen.

Oh, and Golden State is looking real good for next season. It's too bad they play in the West, though.

At this point the Blazers are just tanking it for a better draft pick. Travis Outlaw has been playing a lot of minutes since Mo Cheeks was fired. I guess theyre tryin to find out what they actually have before the draft and free agency.

The Warriors are fielding a good lineup right now. Murphu, Dunleavy, Fisher, Davis and Richardson are a pretty damn good nucleus. If everyone can stay healthy they can make some noise next year. They also have a nice draft pick. If Foyle can step up they can make the playoffs or at least be in contention at seasons end. Imagine them in the East.

Don't forget Mikael Pietrus, he's logjammed at the 2/3, but he's got some game. If they can add a big man through the draft who's ready to contribute productive minutes, they're a playoff contender. As long as Baron Davis stays healthy that is, which is a big IF given his track record....

The Lakers fans will go into cardiac arrest when both the Clippers AND Warriors are better than them :D

Wow, Dikembe with the putback dunk, jumping about 6 inches off the ground in the process. Great defense!

And then, to commemorate the return of Vlade Divac, a pathetic-looking flop on a foul from Kobe.

Spurs just signed Glenn Robinson. They have just doomed themselves.

capt.dna10604080312.spurs_mavericks_dna106.jpg

Giving Big Dog 20 minutes in a game was not a good idea. Spurs lose 68-104.

All it did was make Tony Parker a ball hog making him think that he had to carry the team by himself and forgetting to make assists.

The Bulls could win 50 games if they run the table, a feat which really isn't quite as impossible as you think. New York, Toronto, Detroit, Washington, Orlando, Atlanta, New York, Indiana. No excuse to lose the Hawks, Raptors, and Magic games. The win against the Wizards would be huge, as well as one against the Pacers. The only question mark left is the game with the Pistons, but I'm crossing my fingers for an upset.

its amazing when looking at the W-L numbers of Denver since George Karl came onboard. If he'd been there longer, we'd probably talking COY. I'm not a big fan of crymelo so i almost feel bad for rooting for his team but i like george karl enough that i wnat to see them make a healthy playoff run.

out of habit, when something interesting is happening with an NBA team I check out their city's local paper site just for the hell of it, so I went to Denver's main paper a week or two back, and i see a bunch of references/articles to about how supposedly there is unrest in the locker room cause some players arent happy with some of Karl's decisions, playing time, etc. wtf. i would kindly like to wave their with-Karl-record numbers in their faces and tell to shut the fuck up and sit down.

(of course I'd never actually do that in person B-) )

Not being a South Sider, I never read the Sun-Times, but I bet that if I did, I would read a Jay Mariotti article that was like "Bulls won't win. They'll drop the rest of their regular season schedule and get swept in the first round. Don't get your hopes up."
