Major Heat on Rhyno

Recommended Posts

Holy crap a broken flower pot! Damn Rhyno the hell.

Rhyno was teaching a the Can-Am Wrestling School a month or two ago and rumours were flying he'd been looking to work a Border City Wrestling show. I assumed at that point he was actually released but then I saw his name in Heat spoilers.

I don't think they can afford to fire him, since you KNOW he'll be at Shane Douglas's ECW show and probably defend the ECW title or something - it's too good for Douglas to pass up as a drawing card. On the other hand, if you keep him under contract and bring him out only for One Night Stand he'll probably pull a Paul Roma with whomever he faces on that show. My suggestion? Pay him to stay home, then cut him on June 13.

They've done absoutely nothing with him since he came back from his neck surgery. He was a fodder tag team partner with Chris Benoit that no one even remembers in 2003. When he left before the InVasion angle was over, they were really making it seem like they were going to go places with him but nothing happened.

I can't blame the guy breaking a flower pot.

Yeah, embarrasing your employer because of perceived wrongs (real or imagined) is totally justified. I haven't been promoted at Little Caesars in 18 months, so I threw some Crazy Bread at my boss.

Don't they normally havea 90 day no complete clause anyway, or does that only apply to TNA?

If it does go beyond TNA, I'm sure he'd find a way around it, or at least buy a ticket to the show and be pointed out on-camera or something.

There is what is described to me as major heat on Rhyno right now after an incident at the Universal Sheraton (where WWE booked most of the wrestlers during Wrestlemania 21 week) after Rhyno destroyed a large ceramic flowerpot in the foyer of the hotel during an argument with his wife shortly after the Wrestlemania 21 post-party began in front of a number of witnesses.

Rhyno was escorted to his hotel room by WWE management and did not return to the party. The company is furious about the situation as he was booked in the hotel by them, and was therefore representing the company. They are also upset that the incident happened before a number of witnesses including fans who were hanging out in the hotel lobby. Rhyno wasn't used on the Raw taping the following day.

-- PWInsider

Ok here's what I know because I was at the Sheraton that night hanging out in the lobby with friends. After Wrestlemania all the guys went back to the hotel to get ready for the post party. We saw Rhyno and his wife coming out of the elevator and both of them looked upset. He walked right passed the fans and didn't say anything so noone stopped him. Later on we're all sitting in the lobby and we hear this HUGE ASS crash!!! We all got up and ran up the ramp to see what had happened. When we got there we see a one of the huge flower pots that were all over the lobby destroyed in pieces! We were all thinking what the hell happened, and then we see Rhyno being escorted by security, while the manager was telling everyone to back away. A few minutes later we see Dreamer taking Rhyno upstairs, and Dreamer returned a while later but Rhyno never came back down. I'm telling you the only reason why the fans knew was b./c the flower pot was across the lobby and it was a loud crashing noise. People were saying either earlier that day or the day before they saw Rhyno and his wife arguing so it must have been something that triggered him during the post party.

so is his wife cute?

so he broke a flower pot, big deal. compared to what some wrestlers do in hotels, it's nothing.

This was in full view of the fans, and the hotel staff and perhaps some media as well. What they do in the rooms aren't exposed. This was one of their workers in a verbal arguement with his wife(it had to be intense if he ended up breaking a caramic pot). It's embarassing to the company.

It IS a big deal because the workers are expected to represent the company in a positive light. HTQ mentioned how Flash Funk aka 2 Cold Scorpio was treated after his spat and Simmons pulled a similar stunt last year but not directly in front of the fans but to management.

If this thread doesn't make it into Classics, then there is no use for that folder.

Can Rhyno wrestle? Seriously. All I've ever seen him do is run-ins. Is there a "Best of Rhyno" tape floating around?

He had some good matches with The Rock, Benoit and Angle.(but who hasn't?). Can't speak for his ECW stuff though.

Rhyno's ECW promos where he said "fuck" 56 times, were fun.

If he had taken a shit in her bag instead they would have give him a main event push.

He had some good garbage style brawls with Sandman, Dreamer and others. Had a couple short but decent matches with Tazz. Was involved in some fun tag and six man matches along with Corino/Tajiri. A pretty good match with Super Crazy in the TV title tournament. He was mostly a brawler/hardcore style guy, good intensity and awareness in the ring, but was never too big on moveset apart from your standard powerbomb/spinebuster/powerslam type stuff.

Rhyno won't shit in anyone's bag, but he will make them shit their own face.

I don't know much about Rhyno, cept that he seems like an angry little man, and his arms are really short. Pretty damn stupid to cause a scene though. Should have kept his temper, prob. not a good sign he was flown home.

He still gets a reaction. The Gore's still over. And he looks like a hulked-up Andrew WK, so I love 'im. I'd like to see him make it elsewhere, it was bizarre the way his team with Tajiri was just abandoned in favour of the french.

-- After being sent back to his hotel room and then being told he was not required for RAW on Monday, it is coming to us now breaking that Rhyno was told by WWE that due to the incident during the WrestleMania 21st after show party he is being let go by the company.

-- Many are hoping that cooler heads will prevail, but as it stands release papers were supposedly signed. More on this as it comes.

Indeed, I remember the first thing I thought when I saw the picture on the back of I Get Wet was "wow, this dude looks like Rhyno".

Damn, if only he'd just taken his shit out on a private hotel room like everybody else...

That really sucks if he is getting released because of this, I've never heard anything else negative that Rhyno has dune during his tenure in WWE. I suppose WWE could of just been looking for a reason to release people and this was a perfect oppurtunity.

I can't buy him in the WWF. He won't get over there. It's gotta be ECW style intense Rhino.

And yes, the guy was absolutely right, Rhino was the last ECW champion.

They've absolutely wasted a definite main event heel.

I don't know about main event but he could of easily been a strong midcarder vying for either the US or IC title depending on what show he was on a fairly consistant basis.

It's a real shame as he was begining to be used properly again as Heymens enforcer if I remember correctly before he got brought over to Raw.

In my eyes he was a short guy who was too fat to be a cruiserweight. I could see him beating up on some regular Joe Schmo but I don't see him as legitimately beating anyone in the main event scene. You can't have this guy be an ass-kicking machine at the top because he's too small for it to be believable. If he had a different character and different offense, maybe he could fit in, but I can't buy him beating Batista, Triple H, Undertaker, Kane, Cena or anyone who's near the top. I won't ever accept him as being this physically dominating little guy.

Hmm, little guys can't be ass-kickers that can take big guys. Sounds like VKM type of thinking.

And why is Rhyno different than Jericho, Guerrero or Benoit? They're all little guys, who (admittedly) have different offenses than Rhyno. But no one has any trouble suspending disbelief for them in the ME scene.

mocking tens of millions of dead people with a nazi salute = 10 month reign as WWE Champion.

breaking a plant-pot = taken off TV and possibly fired.

what a joke.

Because Jericho, Guerrero, and Benoit are much, much, much, much, MUCH better in the ring than Rhyno. And have more charisma. MUCH more charisma. Yes, even Benoit - what he may lack in promos, he more than makes up for in ringwork, in his ability to get the crowd emotionally connected with his matches.

Really, I never had anything against the guy, but I never really got why people were THAT into him, outside of the ECW connection (and though I'm sure it's blasphemy to say this, really, the adjective that should forever be associated with ECW is "different" rather than "good" or "quality"). He could have been passable in the midcard, but they jobbed him out, they didn't have any plans to push him at all beyond that point, so hell, might as well let him go. Bring on the next mediocre, boring, green OVW guy.

Or just bring up Burchill, which would satisfy me greatly.
