By SUE LOWE Tribune Staff Writer MISHAWAKA -- Officials say they're beefing up security and welcoming concerned parents to Penn High School on May 10 in the wake of a threat scrawled in a boys bathroom. Penn High School officials and St. Joseph County police are investigating the threat found written on the wall of a bathroom stall Wednesday. In a letter sent home Friday to the parents of Penn students, Principal Dave Tydgat wrote that the message said: "On May 10th, 2005, all will die starting with the male athletes." He wrote that the message was in pencil and very hard to read. The principal wrote that Associate Principal Dave Risner was contacted as soon as a student reported the message to a teacher. Risner implemented the school's safety plan, which includes working with St. Joseph County Police Sgt. John Radde, who is Penn's school resource officer, and Randy Yohn, the school district's director of safety and security. "I can't share the details of this plan with you but please understand that it includes working with local law enforcement officials and increasing the level of our security in and around Penn," Tydgat wrote. "We are doing a number of things," said Teresa Carroll, the Penn-Harris-Madison school district's director of communications. Tydgat encouraged parents to send their children to school May 10 and invited them to come themselves. "If you wish to assist us on May 10 by providing an additional adult presence in our halls and lunchroom, you are welcome to call our office to make arrangements," Tydgat wrote. "Of course, it is your right as a parent to keep your child home on May 10 if you feel it is in his/her best interest." Carroll said absences will be excused, but students and their parents need to follow normal procedures to report an absence. School has been pretty much on lockdown, these last few days. But I think I'll go on May 10th. Although this may very well be a serious threat as its been all over the local news, while earlier in the year a bomb threat came and was ignored.

The school denied that anything happened but still conducted security checks on everyone who entered school that day, which led to about 75 percent of the student body no-showing.

This guy was always pretty screwed up even back then, but I didn't know HOW fucked up he was.

With the hot ass that is walking around highschools now, it would be TOO bad to go back. I am not willing to go to jail over getting some, but if I was their same age, I would be fucking constantly, flunking out of school and ruining my life. Hells YEAH I would go back.

And I had a 3.9 or 3.8 or something around there GPA. I can't remember. That was damn near 10 years ago. I do remember the quanity of hot girls was much much lower back then.

Eclipse Posted May 4, 2005 Report Posted May 4, 2005 Something like that happened at my high schoool, and a 85% of the school didn't come. If you did, almost every teacher gave everyone extra credit. I remember in my science class, which I was failing, he gave everyone two 100's, which would count as a test grade. After a while, people didn't pay attention if it was written. I remember it was written on a desk in my class, the teacher didn't bother reporting it, since NO ONE is gonna do it. People started calling in threats to delay school, or to at least get it closed. I remember for a WHOLE week, we had threats, and they were all jokes. After the 4th threat, the principal gave the ENTIRE SCHOOL detention. You should have seen the MAD RUSH of 2000 students for the school buses at 4PM. My god, it was pure hell.

No, fuck that, I live down the street from a high school and get off work around the time Highschools get out. These young mutha fuckers are a new type of high school girl. They are built like WOMEN in the 8th and 9th grade now. You had like 10-15 in my day, but now, I see a good 30-40 per day and its a small highschool. My theory is that with all the previous generation fucking all young, the bodies are maturing faster to prepare for child bearing earlier. Kinda like in the the olden times when women got married at like 12, they looked grown as hell. Its all coming full circle.
gWIL Posted May 10, 2005 Author Report Posted May 10, 2005 Update: It's May 10th and I am currently sitting in my Newspaper class. The school is almost empty since it was an excused absence. I skipped yesterday and hung out at a sportsbar. Today my Mom called in for me to miss but my Dad forced me to go. I wanted to ditch and go get the John Cena album, but nobody else would go with me. There are tons of cops and stuff here today though.
