does the Clone War show what Anakin does to graduate from padawan to knight or does it just sorta happen?

He's given Knight status because the Clone War put him through things that were equal, if not harder, then the trials.

He has a "sacred vision," and then single-handedly takes out a droid factory, where they are experimenting on genetic manipulation of some race to make them like clone troopers.

The Clone Wars series ends with Mace Windu contacting Obi-Wan and Anakin via the Holonet, and telling them that the Seperatists have attacked Coruscant, and have taken Chancellor Palpatine hostage.

Also, tonight, 5/16/05, and Tuesday, 5/17/05, and Wednesday, 5/18/05, the Discovery Channel will be running a three night event, leading up to the release of Episode III. It's going to be shows about the special effects and such that went in to all 6 movies. They will all be on at 5pm, PST/8pm, EST.

Also, Animal Planet will be airing a show on Wednesday at 6pm, PST/9pm, EST, titled "The Creatures of the Star Wars Universe." If you're a Star Wars fan/geek, don't miss out.

If I see a midnight showing it'd probably be at somewhere like Stonybrook and that place blows.

I've never been to Stonybrook, but I almost bought my tickets from there. I settled on one of the smaller screens at Tinseltown. I almost went with Baxter Avenue, but I don't think they have the screens to do the movie justice.

I just went to 7-11, they've got these Slurpee things...

$1.99 gets you one of four 32 oz cups, with this 3 inch Vader helmet/black lid, and 1 of 4 lenticular cups (Yoda, Anakin & Obi-Wan, Anakin Vs. Obi-Wan w/ scary Anakin face, or someone else, Vader maybe)

$2.99 gets you (they didn't have any) this huge friggin' Yoda head mug, which holds slurpee or soda.

Entertainment meets rampant, unchecked consumerism.

The Yoda Pepsi commerical where he tries to steal the guy's food is just sad beyond belief.

The one where Vader tells the guy he's his Uncle was also pretty bad.

Jesus Christ, George Lucas must love the smell of money.

Anyone remember the cool glasses that Burger King had for ROTJ? I had a few of them but broke a couple of the years. I think I still had a Tattooine one, occasionally will have a coke in it.

Alro, if you wanna see ROTS at midnight in Louisville, I'd suggest seeing it at the new Showcase 16. They'll probably have a lot of screens and use their main theaters for it. The old Cinemas had the big ass 4 and 5 theaters with huge screens and auditoriums so you could really take in the movie. Something like this can't be seen in a smallish place like Baxter Ave. or a downright shit theater like Stonybrook. What sucks is that my friend Chris might wanna see it and he lives right next to Stonybrook.

Slightly off-topic:

My mom still has some of the Care Bears glasses from way back when, about 20 years or so ago, when they were selling them at McDonald's. My aunt on my dad's side, the really eccentric one, bought them for us. She's a rather weird and eccentric lady, but she bought us the best shit. Half our movie collection was bought by her for us.

I collected all 12 different "The Phantom Menace" large soda cup toppers...remember them? From TACO BELL baby.

HUGE characters, like 5 1/2 inch cup tops, had moveable arms and parts, would sit on their soda cup.

Amidala, Windu, Jay Jar, R2, Anakin Pod Racer, Maul, Captain Tarpals, Boss Nass, and a few others.

I will wait a few weeks to see it, just to avoid the annoying liberals who seem to flock to events such as Star Wars movie debuts...

I'm sure no one would complain if you stayed home and waited until Jesus returns and sets up a flat tax.

We are totally geeking out for this. This Wednesday, we're marathoning all the movies and the first Clone Wars DVD with a huge group of friends.

It's too bad the last 5 (longer) Clone Wars episodes aren't out on DVD yet because they literally lead right in to Episode III. Oh well, that's what torrents are for.

Or you could just go here if you don't mind quicktime.

Hey, thanks for the info. Got 'em all set for tomorrow's ultra geekathon. :)

I'm so excited :D

Jesus already returned. The Minuteman Project left the border a month or so ago...

What does political affiliation have anything to do with it? It's not like people are going to be starting partisan debates in their stormtrooper uniforms.

Besides, don't you live in Northern California? You'd pretty much have to deal with mostly liberals anywhere you go, it'd seem...

That EpIII graphic novel is still in my desk, unopened and staring at me like saying "read me, idiot, come on!!" But I've been spoiler-free this whole time and I intend to remain so until I watch the movie on friday. But damn, I want to spoil it so badly. The dark side is powerful, indeed.

I haven't watched Clone Wars (good god does the animation suck) and have been keeping myself free of EpIII spoilers for the most part, but I have a Greivous question that I must ask:

If lightsabers are weapons of the Jedi, who are attuned to the Force, then how is a droid using lightsabers? Is it using the Force as well? What is going on here?

Because, seriously, I saw a picture of a droid using lightsabers on a Pepsi box or something the other day and thought 'Okay, now they're REALLY messing up their own continuity.'
