The Metal Maniac 0 Report post Posted November 7, 2005 This sequence always started out with Mace overpowering Palpatine, and then Palpatine using his powers to try to destroy Mace, and Mace deflecting his rays with his lightsaber. And it always was that Anakin cut the lightsaber out of his hand. But this part, where he pretends to be lose his power and be weak, was something that I added later." I would find it *really* hard to believe that, with these words, what Lucas was intending to say was "Well, I used to have it written so that Mace overpowered him, but then I changed it so that Sidious was just messing with him." What he's most likely trying to say is "Originally, Mace winning, Sidious still fighting, and Anakin helping were always in the script, but I never added in Sidious trying to be weak until later on." Further, I agree that Sidious is making himself look less weak then he really is against Mace, once Mace has him dead-to-rights; but that doesn't mean that Mace didn't overpower him. It just means that Palpatine is smart enough to realize "Hey, if I really play this up, I can play on Anakin's sympathies and get him to turn."
cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted November 7, 2005 I don't necessarily believe this. I mean here is a guy who masterminds everything to the exact degree. Would he really leave his own fate in the hands of whether Mace Windu would kill him or not before Anakin turned? Would he also disfigure himself horribly unless he was getting his ass kicked? I think Mace beat him in the duel and as others said the Emperor played up to Anakin and thus the heel turn.
Lil' Bitch 0 Report post Posted November 13, 2005 In the commentary track, Lucas's team confirms that Grievous's coughing is a result of his encounter with Windu in the Clone Wars cartoon. What happened? Would he also disfigure himself horribly unless he was getting his ass kicked? I always thought his human form was a just a disguise so obviously nobody would see right off the bat that he was an evil Sith lord. I think Mace beat him in the duel and as others said the Emperor played up to Anakin and thus the heel turn. Upon seeing the scene again, yeah Palpatine lost the duel right, but as soon as Anakin came in, he played possum to get Anakin on his side pretending to be the weak old man about to be executed. Sorry, I don't feel like going through 43 pages so pardon if these have been already. 1.) Why is Anakin's right eye scarred? 2.) Did Grevious even know Palpatine was the Sith lord or was he just under Dooku's orders the whole time?

What happened? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Windu Force-crushed Grievous's chest cavity. It happened near the end of Chapter 25, which can be seen here.

Like I said, the cartoons answer a lot of questions, and are really well done.

ChrisMWaters 0 Report post Posted January 1, 2006 Pretty impressive though- considering Goblet only came out mid-november IMAX may have helped raise those numbers. At the IMAX in Tropicana (I work at Tropicana, so I know) IMAX tickets are $14 bucks a pop for a movie like this.

You can sign up for 'Hyperspace' at StarWars.com and get them, but that's subscription. You can find them pretty easily on most file sharing networks, though. I got mine through KaZaa Ressurrection. CBright7831 0 Report post Posted January 2, 2006 Here is some information on the new live action tv show that Lucas will be working on: - Pre-production is expected to begin in January 2006. - The television series is expected to be released in either 2007 or 2008. - The series will focus on minor characters in the Star Wars films, ones who viewers have seen on screen before in the films themselves. - The entire series will be set in the 19-year time period between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope. - The series will last 100 episodes - Each episode will be 1 hour long. - Daniel Logan, who played the Young Boba Fett, has been asked to reprise his role as Fett for the new series by Lucas. - Lucas will get the show started with his work on the first season, and then "hand it off from there." - The style of the series will be in a similar style to Lucas' Young Indiana Jones TV series. - Lucas will be organizing all casting and getting together the complete crew to fill the various positions required for the show. - Cameos by main characters are not totally out of the question. - The show is still in its early planning stages, so many plot and/or story elements may change, as Lucas has shown to change his mind easily, such as expressing an interest in expanding the character Aayla Secura, then killing her in Episode III. - Lucas has stated that, in producing the show, "we will do what would typically cost $20 million, for $1 million." - Lucas has stated that if this series, along with the 3-D animated Clone Wars series is successful, more series may follow. According to an interview at his AFI lifetime achievement ceremony, future series may include the possibility of a Knights of the Old Republic-era series. - Work will commence this January. Lucas and his colleague Rick McCallum will produce the still untitled show. - Jimmy Smits (Bail Organa), Ewan McGregor (Obi-Wan Kenobi), and Temuera Morrison (Jango Fett/Clonetroopers) have expressed their interest in occasional appearances. - The series will be shot using Hi-Definition cameras, according to Rick McCallum at a recent press conference for the "Revenge of the Sith" DVD. - McCallum also confirms at the conference that many characters from the Expanded Universe will be seen in the series, who had previously only been seen in the novels, comics, video games, and other media. - McCallum describes the series as: "It is going to be much darker, grittier. It's much more character-based." - McCallum says on the writing and plot of the series: "We are just starting to interview writers and trying to really figure out which direction to go to. He envisions somewhere like 100 hours between Episode III and Episode IV with a lot of characters that we haven't met that have been developed in some of the novels and other things. We are really excited about that. Finally, we could have the opportunity to answer everybody's questions once and for all by the time we finish the series." - Ian McDiarmid stated at a recent press event for the "Revenge of the Sith" DVD that, if asked, he will return as Emperor Palpatine for the series. - Frank Oz has also said that if asked, he will return as Yoda. - Lucas has also stated that if the two tv serials are successful they may be followed by additional animated StarWars features. Whether this means more tv shows or an animated movie is not clear. It has also been stated by Lucas at Celebration III that one of them might take place during the Sith Wars.
