I love when Steve Stone calls a Marlins game for ESPN. This is twice in the past week and a half.

It also made me happy when he called them the best team in the National League.

Todd Jones needs to finish off this 9th to move D-Train to 7-0.

Looking at this Orioles team, I really think that the biggest difference is Ray Miller. He turned around that pitching staff in the middle of the season last year, and it's holding up this year too.

Under Miller, Ponson's finally starting to pitch up to potential (another good outing against the Twins today), and Bedard and Chen both have the best ERAs that they've had in their careers.

Sosa's been a nice addition to the lineup, but really, it's the improvements in the rotation that have moved the Orioles from struggling to reach .500 to a legitimate contender to win the AL East.

White Sox beat the Rays for the first time this season, 5-2, behind Orlando Hernandez and Dustin Hermanson pitching extremely well. Konerko may be struggling, but his hits are big, as a double plated 2 runners.

Jason

Reynolds said that you should just put Konerko in the All-Star Game right now.

Speaking of NY, Yankees win! Daaaaaaaaaaaaa Yankees Win!

Sweep the next series and we're back to .500. It was nice to see them like the good time Yankees by coming back after trailing 0-5 in the first. Pavano didn't have his stuff, but luckily, probably for the first time in a while, the Yankee bats bail out a bad start.

Agreed, but not espn doesnt think so, during the game today the annoucners went off on a tangent abotu how boston won last years wc with 98 wins adn if the yanks were to get at least 98 wins they have to win x number of games from now-sept. geez, its like everyone is just hoping for them to lose (which is probably true lol)

anyhow what a crazy game, had me both throwing a fit and exploding with joy. pavano was ok, untill the arod errors which extended innings and led to more runs. hes just got to find his stuff and remember what hes good at.

Cmon yanks, keep the streak alive on friday.

The Sox needed 98 wins because the Yankees collected 101. 93 wins is usually a good expected dividing line between the postseason and going home.

Hopefully the Sox pound Baltimore, so that the Yanks can get a few more wins, and gain some ground.

The Sox are playing well, I'll give them that. I actually think that they're pretty solid to win the Central. I think right now, it looks like a three-way race for two spots between Baltimore, Boston, and Minnesota. I'm certainly not ceding this series though. Garland is far and away the White Sox' toughest pitching matchup right now, and the Orioles could easily win two out of three the rest of the way.

Oh come on, sure the Yankees are struggling early, but their STILL only 6.5 games back, with 13 games left to play against the Os and Boston.

No radio announcer is worse than John f'n Sterling for the Yankees. The guy is so fuckin biased its sickening. His nicknames are cheesy as hell too, here's some of them:

Giam-bino

Bernie goes boom

The Bam-Tino

Ruben Seeya-era

Ugh, what a cornball.

"Yankees win......duuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuh Yankees wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiin!" Shut the fuck up John

I hate how that the YES Network is just a channel and two over from MSG and FSNY. But the Mets (for the new network) should fire that piece of shit Fran Healy, "duuuuuuuuhhhh....it's a can-o-corn". They need a combination of Keith Hernandez and Gary Cohen. Or bring back Gary Thorne (he's got no hockey to do - and he's so awesome)

Fran Healy is awful, but i also can't stand Gary Thorne.

Gimme Keith and Tom Robinson. Seaver is good but sometimes goes TOO far into the mechanics and ignores whats going on in the field.

Well, despite the loss, my first trip to Citizens Bank Park was a fun experience. There is lots to see there, and plenty of attractions. My only complaint is that the seats are not wide enough. I felt more comfortable sitting in Lackawanna County Stadium.

It's a great stadium. There are some good eats on Ashburn Alley as well.

At one point last season when the Marlins were something like 11-1 against the Phils (before Phils swept them at the end) - I happened to see the one loss in person at CBP.

I sat in left field and I'll never forget Ricky Ledee robbing Damion Easley of a HR right in front of me.

I hope to go back there for a game this summer.

I really like CBP. I think that they did a remarkable job with everything, never even really noticed the seat thing (and I'm a pretty big guy). The only thing that I think would have been better is if they could have found a way to move it more into the city. I know that it was almost impossible, but I really like ballparks that are in the heart of a city, or at least have a lot to do around them. I feel like it's a wasted opportunity to grow Philly.

But as far as the ballpark goes, I got nothing but love for it. Now for the product on display.....

Although, I got to give props to your boy Al. He's the only good thing going right now.

I gotta say though, it was nice that it was situated where it is, because I am VERY unfamiliar with the ins and outs of driving around Philadelphia.

As an aside, paying $10 for parking is a miserable experience.

We always park on the street (usually on Pattison). Park a couple blocks away, and it's like a 5-10 minute walk to the stadium. It's free, and you don't have to fight your way out of the parking lots. After the game, you jump in the car, and you're off. We've never had a problem.
