iliketurtles 0 Report post Posted May 27, 2005 No Malenko? Add him to Benoit/Guerrero, damnit. Storm vs. Jericho? This looks fucking good.
cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted May 27, 2005 I do agree, let's add Deano Machino to that Eddie/Benoit match and watch the awesomeness fly. We all know he'd be the first eliminated though. I take it these are the first 5 matches and there is more to follow with people like Sabu?

If they added Malenko to the match, Benoit and Guerrero would both probably refuse to go over Malenko...definately if it was his last match.

Downhome 0 Report post Posted May 27, 2005 Ha, I just noticed Rhyno on that list. I figured they wouldn't even try to get him to go to the show. Things are starting to shape up quite nicely. There are more than a couple of people on that list that I didn't expect to see. We can compare One Night Stand with Douglas's Hardcore Homecoming show: Joey Styles calling the show. 3-Way Dance: Douglas (w/Francine) v. Terry Funk v. Sabu (w/Bill Alfonso) Raven v. Sandman Jerry Lynn v. Justin Credible Kid Kash v. CW Anderson The Eliminators have issued an open invitation to any tag team Plus.... 2 Cold Scorpio, Pitbull Gary Wolfe, Axl Rotten, Don "Cyrus" Callis, Joel Gertner, Tommy Rich, Tracy Smothers, Roadkill, Danny Doring, Chris Chetti, JT Smith, and Mikey Whipwreck. Guest bort Report post Posted May 27, 2005 The line up looks perfectly fine to me right now. I personally would like to see Balls vs Tanaka added as they would put on a good hardcore brawl. Let Rhyno Kill spike, toss in a tag match and you got a good PPV. I wonder what there gonna push as the main event, Rhyno was the last champ but i dont see him getting top billing
Dangerous A 0 Report post Posted May 27, 2005 With the exception of Douglas' main event, I think the Douglas show looks a tad stronger. I just get the creepy feeling that One Night Stand will just be a vehicle to further WWE storylines as opposed letting ECW shine as the primary spotlight. Also, where is New Jack? I thought I heard he was going to work both shows, but don't see him listed anywhere?
GreatWhiteNope 0 Report post Posted May 27, 2005 I wouldn't be shocked if Joey Styles ends up calling the show and they're just saving it as a surprise. Ditto for Raven and New Jack showing up.
MillenniumMan831 0 Report post Posted May 27, 2005 The BWO (including Hollywood Nova) will be at One Night Stand. Nice!
Downhome 0 Report post Posted May 27, 2005 The biggest surprises for me so far are: Rob Van Dam with Bill Alfonso Rhyno Joel Gertner Kid Kash Masato Tanaka Mikey Whipwreck with Sinister Minister The BWO - Big Stevie Cool, Hollywood Nova, and The Blue Guy I predict there will only be two possible outcomes to this PPV. It will either go down as one of the all time classic wrestling shows, where just about everything works...or it'll be one of the biggest letdowns ever, where every single thing presented is a shitty watered down version of what used to be ECW. It'll either be fantastic or one big pile of shit. I don't see this show having any middle ground really.
CBright7831 0 Report post Posted May 27, 2005 No Sandman. EDIT - Nevermind.

MillenniumMan831 0 Report post Posted May 27, 2005 No problem. Hopefully, they'll have a battle royal/gauntlet type match with the guys not being used to set up a #1 Contender for Rhino for later on in the night. Who can stop Rhino's 4 year reign?
tpww7 0 Report post Posted May 27, 2005 Will they recognize Rhyno as champion still?
MillenniumMan831 0 Report post Posted May 27, 2005 Will they recognize Rhyno as champion still? If Heyman really is booking the show, I bet he will. If it's McMahon's call, then I reckon not.
Downhome 0 Report post Posted May 27, 2005 I don't look for them to recognize any of the champs really, unless they plan to try and keep ECW around in one way or another.
Spaceman Spiff 0 Report post Posted May 27, 2005 They should keep Alfonso around. Either pair him back up w/ RVD, or have him manage someone else.
MillenniumMan831 0 Report post Posted May 27, 2005 I agree as long as he doesn't blow on that damn whistle every two seconds.
Guest *KNK* Report post Posted May 27, 2005 I was expecting Impact Players Vs Dudleyz for this show in one those "who was the best tag team in ecw history" type deals but It's fitting for Storm to officially retire against Chris Jericho. Benoit Vs Guerrero has been done countless times but it's not a bad thing. Sandman/Dreamer Vs Dudleyz is a great match for the ecw faithful. Won't be a classic but should be a hot match. The luchador matches are nice but they should throw in Kash into the three way. I can see them doing Balls and Axl against Roadkill and Doring and I guess Credible against Tanaka. I really hope they get Awesome because that's the best way to use Tanaka. Rhyno should squash Spike and then cut a promo about being the last champion and the "greatest" champion only for Taz to walk out and suplex Rhyno a few times and cover him and "win" the title back. I'm sure there's a few surprises here in store and im still thinking of how they will use Sabu
Spaceman Spiff 0 Report post Posted May 27, 2005 That's part of the character. Masters isn't getting over on his own, so maybe Alfonso blowing on the whistle would help (not that I care about Masters in the 1st place). Or give Conway a singles push, w/ Alfonso as his manager. Enigma 0 Report post Posted May 27, 2005 I would have rather them done Guerrero vs. Malenko and Benoit vs. Sabu.
Guest *KNK* Report post Posted May 27, 2005 There's about 100 better and more entertaining and effective heel managers on the indy scene then Alfonso. Alfonso was a nuiscence.
Spaceman Spiff 0 Report post Posted May 27, 2005 Alfonso would have the recognition factor, and thus would be effective right away. Not to mention he'd already be comfortable performing in front of bigger crowds. He was a guilty pleasure. I enjoyed the guy.
King Cucaracha 0 Report post Posted May 27, 2005 He wasn't good on the stick, but he was entertaining. Plus, the guy's a former referee so he can take a very nice looking bump if you ever need him to.
