The Amazing Rando Posted February 18, 2008 Report Posted February 18, 2008 I await "Guitar Hero: Prog"
Conspiracy_Victim Posted February 18, 2008 Report Posted February 18, 2008 No it wouldn't have. if they're going to focus on single bands, Queen would be the best candidate. Wasn't there a rumor a while back that there was going to be a Guitar Hero devoted to Aerosmith? That would work pretty well.
Red Baron Posted February 18, 2008 Report Posted February 18, 2008 Well at least it isn't Guitar Hero: Metallica. A Judas Priest Guitar Hero would be awesome, especially Painkiller.
Matt Young Posted February 18, 2008 Report Posted February 18, 2008 No it wouldn't have. if they're going to focus on single bands, Queen would be the best candidate. Wasn't there a rumor a while back that there was going to be a Guitar Hero devoted to Aerosmith? That would work pretty well. That was announced. It's out in June.
Guest Tzar Lysergic Posted February 18, 2008 Report Posted February 18, 2008 Revolution X wasn't enough Aerosmith for the video game world?
Matt Young Posted February 18, 2008 Report Posted February 18, 2008 Revolution X wasn't enough Aerosmith for the video game world? Guess not.
Matt Young Posted February 20, 2008 Report Posted February 20, 2008 And I don't want to miss a thing. Even when I dream of you, the sweetest dream would never do. 'Cause I'd still miss you, redbaron51.
dubq Posted February 23, 2008 Report Posted February 23, 2008 So what's the deal with the replacement discs for the Wii GH3? I registered a while ago when that form went up on their site and have yet to receive any info about returning the mono disc for a stereo version...
yankovic fan Posted February 25, 2008 Report Posted February 25, 2008 So what's the deal with the replacement discs for the Wii GH3? I registered a while ago when that form went up on their site and have yet to receive any info about returning the mono disc for a stereo version... They sent me my forms Thursday and I had it in the mail Friday. So you should be getting your stuff soon. It's a simple form and a prepaid envelope that they send you.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted February 25, 2008 Report Posted February 25, 2008 Im surprised you arent sending the whole thing back for $132 (cost of the game plus their "estimated" shipping cost to send it back to them) If you could get it on sale for $80, shipping for most people via Fed Ex wont run but $10, which means $40 profit!
dubq Posted February 25, 2008 Report Posted February 25, 2008 The time it takes for all of that isn't worth $40. Not to me at least.
Black Lushus Posted February 25, 2008 Report Posted February 25, 2008 what's with these custom videos I'm seeing on YouTube? Is that a PC only thing or is there some custom song mode I'm just plain not seeing?
TheDevilAndGodAreRagingInsideMe Posted February 25, 2008 Report Posted February 25, 2008 OK, so my guitar is busted. It's the black Kramer wireless guitar from the PS2/GHIII bundle. The strum is messed up, I can't strum down making playing songs impossible, and on menu screens, the highlighted item scrolls widely out of control without touching anything. Very disappointed as I've only had it since about mid-December. I've read a few similar complaints from people via various Google searches, but nobody has a solution to the problem. It's funny because the night I brought it to my apartment at school from home for the first time was when this all started. I figured that one of my roommates busted it until I read that other people have been having similar problems (though most other issues with the Kramer are fret related). Any ideas?
haws bah gawd Posted February 25, 2008 Report Posted February 25, 2008 what's with these custom videos I'm seeing on YouTube? Is that a PC only thing or is their some custom song mode I'm just plain not seeing? Yea I would like to know how those are made too. Being a fan of Kamelot, I marked the fuck out when I came across this for Guitar Hero 2:
Edwin MacPhisto Posted February 25, 2008 Report Posted February 25, 2008 Is the Guitar Hero 2+guitar bundle for 360 still available anywhere? Mostly I just want to get Rock Band (game only, as I have no real interest in the drums) and a second guitar. Or, does Activision sell the GH3 guitar individually anywhere?
TheDevilAndGodAreRagingInsideMe Posted February 26, 2008 Report Posted February 26, 2008 They are created with a modded PS2 and a DVD burner.
Matt Young Posted February 29, 2008 Report Posted February 29, 2008 No Doubt Track Pack -500 Points- Out today: "Don't Speak" "Excuse Me Mr." "Sunday Morning" All Tragic Kingdom. Nice. "Excuse Me, Mr." should easily be the best for guitar.
CanadianGuitarist Posted February 29, 2008 Report Posted February 29, 2008 Did you get your 360 back? We'll have to Gh it up.
Nate Posted February 29, 2008 Report Posted February 29, 2008 ugh No Doubt, this makes me sick for 2 reasons, I despise No Doubt, and its showing that Guitar Hero is selling out and just going for the hot money and attract the poppy-punk audience

Say it ain't so! yea thats what I was getting at, that Activision is selling themselves to the MTV audience, whats next the theme of Laguna Beach
Conspiracy_Victim Posted March 1, 2008 Report Posted March 1, 2008 yea thats what I was getting at, that Activision is selling themselves to the MTV audience, whats next the theme of Laguna Beach A patch that makes Heidi Montag the singer for the female lead signer tracks instead of the dreadlocked girl, obviously.
AnonymousBroccoli Posted March 1, 2008 Report Posted March 1, 2008 ugh No Doubt, this makes me sick for 2 reasons, I despise No Doubt, and its showing that Guitar Hero is selling out and just going for the hot money and attract the poppy-punk audience MTV sell out? Say it ain't so! yea thats what I was getting at, that Activision is selling themselves to the MTV audience Ironic, since MTV owns Harmonix. Meanwhile, Rock Band is getting 6 Grateful Dead tunes on Tuesday. Did they actually raise the price on GH song packs? I could've sworn it was $2/song, and the No Doubt one is $6.25. Between download prices, a weak PS2 port, broken Wii port, and ridiculously spec-heavy PC port, in-game advertising, blocking their guitars for RB on PS3, and trying to do the same for 360, charging $70 for stand-alone guitar controllers, charging full price and more for offshoot games, and probably some other stuff I can't recall, Activision's really pushing hard to turn this franchise into just another soulless money machine. Edit: My memory was off. It's always been $6.25/pack, going back to GH2.
dubq Posted March 6, 2008 Report Posted March 6, 2008 Finally - got my disc replacement envelope today!
yankovic fan Posted March 7, 2008 Report Posted March 7, 2008 They emailed me today to say the replacement is on the way.
AnonymousBroccoli Posted March 7, 2008 Report Posted March 7, 2008 http://www3.hmv.ca/hmvca/images/special/contests/index.html HMV Canada is putting on a GH3 tournament, with qualifiers starting today (Friday), and running through the weekend.
NoCalMike Posted March 7, 2008 Report Posted March 7, 2008 SUpposedly there is going to be a free song pack released in celebration of St. Patricks Day. http://kotaku.com/364932/ghiii-sets-dropki...e-for-st-pattys Additionally, Activision will be kicking off the St. Patrick's Day celebrations with a special free track pack from the popular Celtic punk band Dropkick Murphys that will be available mid March.
